  1. If you play your music long enough you'll notice that it will drop to one side of the speakers. Then go back. It gets annoying after about 20 minutes. At least thats what ts doing on mine. Also, i was told the only way to fix it is to set your iphone version back to the older ios.
  2. I found a website that has customized POI categories, ie dunkin donuts, wendys, burger king, north american hockey rinks, etc..., "POIFriend", and it even gives the ability to download the files in Avic format, KML. However, the pioneer avicfeeds program that I downloaded from the pioneer electronics website only will load the file onto an SD card, at which point if you put the card into the head unit, the POIs show up under the subdirectory, but once you remove the SD card, the POIs go away. I've tried to find out how in these forums to permanently add the POI's to my head unit so i dont ha
  3. does anyone know how to do this, I'm interested as well.
  4. Thanks Sticks... my system is now up and running with 3.02 and all with in a 2hr window, one 2.0G SD card and an instant messenger for communication. Props dude.... perfect handheld instruction the entire two hours with out one flaw or hicup. Total props. If anyone is having problems, Sticks can walk you through it and have you up and running, definately worth contacting him.. tgadoury@egr.uri.edu
  5. i saw your post and sent you an email with my concerns about the 3.0 update. email me back so we can take this offline.
  6. i dl'ed the 2 rar files from megaupload, extracted the 1st one which automatically extraced the 2nd. Are these correct files or corrupt files?
  7. has anyone been able to review the comparison of the files that I did on pg 49? I want to do this but the file difference worry me. As for the dump files, I took a look at my 2.0 upgrade and there are no files in it, and my unit works. The 2.006 and 2.008 upgrades didnt even seem to have dump files associated with them. I'm now comparing the 2.008 upgrade to 3.0 and thats where I have issues. the overwrite appears to want to overwrite files that I think need to be there, and add files that werent there to begin with. If someone familiar with these files can review this I would grea
  8. do a search for turboss.com and x910bt.zip, you'll find the the link in one of the posts
  9. i finished upgrading to the 2.008 version, works fine. However, those updates were provided by Pioneer and work by just putting the SD card in and letting it run the update. I reviewed the instructions for this 3.0 update over and over again as the last time I did it as I though I bricked my unit when i overwrote the "My Flash disk" files. Took me threedays to get back to where I started. So a little cautious this time. I did a review of the diles in my 900's "My Flash Disk"" to the files that are going to be replaced with the x910bt.zip download from turboss.com. There are differe
  10. BTW... I reloaded 2.0, then 2.006, and my TTS came back. Didnt put on 2.008 yet cause that was the version that was on it when it came back from Japan after they repaired it, guess 2.008 removed the TTS. Can anyone confirm?
  11. found out that the testmode in the files was the older test mode, needed to use the newer 2.3 files for it to work.
  12. also, when you try to order from the canadian website, they want a canadian postal code.
  13. My original assumption was correct, the 2 WinCe files were missing from the folder, that's why it just sat on the boot screen. After I reloaded the 2 WinCe files back onto the unit instead of just putting them on my SD card, the system took the 2.0 again. Then loaded the 2.006 update, and it took perfectly. Gonna try the 2.008 update tonight.
  14. Just curious, this process appears to address one folder among many that are visible in Test Mode. Are there any other folders that need to be addressed, cuase I really think I'm missing something as its stuck in boot up mode on the flash screen no matter whether I put back to 2.0 or upgrade to 2.006 or 2.008.
  15. Just one more thing, I was able to get to 100% finally, which allowed me to do the updates, but still sitting at the flash/loading screen, occasionally (every 10 minutes or so) it goes black but comes right back to the flash/loading screen... Ugh!
  16. The system upgraded all the way to 2.008, but still just sits at the flash/loading screen. So I think something is missing. Are the WinCe files suppose to be in the sytems folders somewhere, cause I dont think they are? The only place I have them is on my SD per the instructions. What about the other folder that are on the unit, seems as though the only one that had any work done to it was the "My flash disk" folder, unless things were done to the other folders during the upgrade process that I couldn't see. I knew at the onset it was all or nothing, and it seems I'm at the nothing sta
  17. No Dice... everything went flawlessly... except at the very end when I went to reboot for the final step, it rebooted and stayed right on the splash screen. I really hate this unit.
  18. I'm having the exact same issue as PSPICE, except i never get to 100%, furthest I've gotten on about 20 tries is 71%, then black screen again. My unit was at the 2.008 update, done by the manufacturer after it was sent in to be fixed. Now its just sitting on the splash screen. Gonna try resetting it back to 2.0. Keep you posted.
  19. ISSUE.... Please help. F900BT The headunit will not go past the 71% mark when doing the CE update, it varies between 44% and 71%, tried at least 20 times, each time it goes from the blue screen with the % going up to a dead black screen after about 10-15 seconds. So I decided to just boot into test mode and delete all the files in the "my flash disk" folder, and copy in the ones that were on the SD. They copied in just fine, now my head unit won't go past the flash screen. Also, it should be know for anyone that can help, my unit came preinstalled with 2.0, it was also recently (3 w
  20. Can someone let me know how long it takes for step 7 to happen (step 7: Wait till it says restart in the bottom center)? Been 15 minutes so far. Getting uncomfortable looking at a black screen if you know what I mean.
  21. I just went to the canadian website in the link above to get the official updates, and the cost is $150 canadian, $147 US when converted. That's more then you can get it at the US Pioneer website which is $120 US http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Accessories/NavigationUpgrades/CNSD-100FM
  22. I just received my F900bt back from repair, with the 2.0 update already installed on it (thats the way I bought it originally), it just died on me for no reason. Anyway, they did something to it and when it came back, there is no TTS, not for nothing but this really pisses me off, especially since it cost me $250 for the repair since it was out of frigin warranty. I tried to boot into test mode using the instructions, but it wont boot into test mode. I did exactly what the instructions said. Downloaded the two folders onto my SD card (mitacap and testmode), put the card in the headunit and
  23. For the past two weeks I've been trying to convert my iPod movies, MPEG-4 format to DVD format so that I could burn them to DVD in order to play them in the car. Yes they play fine when using my iPod, but I want the DVD to work as well. I've tried converting to several formats including AVI & DVD NTSC. When I copy the finished file to the DVD using NERO Burning Rom and then put the disc in my 900bt I get the error "non-playable disc". The weird thing is that the finished files play on my PC when I try to play them. I read the manual and it says the 900bt will play AVI files. I looked
