  1. If you're going to do that why wouldn't you just tear out the d3 all together, get a lilliput touch screen and set up a carputer? I had a similar setup in my last car (Mazda 3) but it was a pain in the ass overall and I couldn't really get a good fit in my new car (Altima Coupe). However, if I was planning on running a mac mini anyway there's no way I wouldn't want control of the pc through the touchscreen.
  2. You sure do have a lot of advise with no backing or proof...you're so quick to draw with no answers...this is a help forum, not for critics. You must be blowing him...shutup...I already said it's the best price to buy from...if you can read the previous statement...you do not want them to answer your qustions...how many people do you know, that gets all their questions answered from where they bought it from..........Geeee I look forward to your future posts... hopefully they include something like "WHY DIDN'T YOU PEOPLE TELL ME I WAS GOING TO BE SCAMMED?". At the very least i
  3. You sure do have a lot of advise with no backing or proof...you're so quick to draw with no answers...this is a help forum, not for critics. Yeah!! You tell him!! How dare he try and help look out for others who are probably going to end up being scammed by a company that looks earily familiar to other shady camera/electronics sites? Personally, I couldn't believe it when he told you that the place was lying to you about the expansion slot.... why would an actual owner know more about the unit than some scumbag salesman at milleniumcamera.com?
  4. I would say it's definitely a carryover... I have so far bought two different Sirius units on ebay and both times the same thing has happened. The first one lasted over a year before I traded the car in (it's still going for all I know), the second lasted four months and is still going strong in my fiance's car. I've actually been kicking myself that I didn't buy my current Sirius tuner from ebay
  5. Is the whole the open box discount based on the fact that pieces are/could be missing? I don't think you're going to have a very easy time demanding anything from them...
  6. Is this guy serious? Mine is plain black too.
  7. Thanks again, it works perfectly now. This is the first time I haven't done the installation on my own (the combo of a brand new car + navigation + working sixty hours pushed me toward using an experienced installer) so it felt weird not knowing exactly what I was looking at once I got inside the dash.
  8. Ah, ok, cool... Thanks. I'll have to check it out tomorrow. I looked over a few of the tutotrials and just had it in my head that the place where the pin was changed was the one that plugged directly in to the unit. Then when I saw the harness in the box I assumed it was something different than what I saw on here (I'm flashing back to my Jr. High teacher asking me what happens when you assume...).
  9. I just had my d3 installed today (2008 Altima Coupe) and the installer told me he couldn't do the bypass for me (said it was for liability reasons, which I understand). Anyway, he left a portion of the parking brake wire near the fuse box for easy access so I could bypass on my own... unfortunately, I'm not sure what he used for the harness in to the d3. I wanted to retain my steering wheel controls so he ordered the part from pac and then in the back of the d3 is a black plug - the original is still in the box. Am I going to have to pull everything out and rewire the original harness in or
  10. why would they be free? does Microsoft offer free upgrades to their newest OS when its released? Is there a software change somewhere on those discs? Or is it just updated maps? If it's the first then you are right (like moving from xp to Vista), if it's the latter then yes, Microsoft does offer updates to their product (service packs and other updates).
