  1. Just got my free upgrade in the mail, delivered by courier. Was due back in August and I was starting to think they forgot about us. The password is well hidden on the Pioneer website and when it was eventually found it did not work. A call to Pioneer HQ, and I was informed to use the Euro page which worked correctly. Update went smooth other than that. Touch response is massively improved. My bluetooth Mic now pics up my voice alot better, with a few test calls showing they can hear me alot clearer. Not sure if it is placebo, but the GPS seems to pick up signal alot quicker than pre
  2. I run the F900BT without the Speed Sensor wire connected in my Nissan Murano and it works fine. It is only meant to help with accurancy when you go into a tunnel so the unit can predict roughly where along the road you are until you get reception again. My car does not have a speed wire going to the ECU, rather it has a CAN signal so I cannot tap into it.
  3. I have the same issues. I can just about swallow the mic and people on the other end say I sound distant. Has anyone found a way to turn up the mic sensitivity?
  4. I haver a PAC Audio PS working perfectly with my F900BT, albeit in my Nissan Murano (Volume +/-, Track +/-, Mute, and Band). Not the same, but shows that they can be made to work with the steering controls.
  5. If you could find what caused you to loose the VR option, it would help all of the Aussie and Euro users out there that dont have VR. We may be able to simply turn it on, so finding how you turned it off is a good clue to the direction to take. It might be a useful thing to give your old backup to someone working on this.
  6. Dont get me started on the mic volume! I have been swearing at that since the day the unit was fitted. How rediculous that the level is so low. Surely they must have tested this in an actual vehicle and noticed that unless you put the mic 2" from your mouth it is way too quiet on the other end. Imagine if our models had Voice Rec! I actually thought I was having problems because I used to have the F900BT in an Evo which is quite noisy, but a few days ago transferred everything over to a Nissan Murano which is whisper quiet, and it too has the same issues. Mic is no more than a foot
  7. PassiveJJ you are a total legend! I just transferred my F900BT from my Evo into my Nissan Murano (has the orange non-nav screen) and I was about to attempt to make some Orange/Nissan images to match it. What a time saver. Thank you. Your efforts are much appreciated.
  8. Call this guy a grief counsellor and get him a box of tissues....
  9. I saw a post mentioning the rebate here in Australia for the map update. I am the OP and you can download the rebate form from here: http://www.pioneer.com.au/navxtra/ Time for some soapboxing. All you guys whining over the price you paid make me sick. In the rest of the world we pay a hell of a lot more for the unit. The rrp here is AUD$1995.00 (~US$1600.00) for the F900BT, and we dont get MSN, Voice Recognition, and a bunch of other features in our units. I didn't pay that, but still you get my point. So someone crying poor about paying $130 for an update on a unit he paid
  10. Here in Australia we were given a free offer of a map update that is due in August 2009 when we purchased the F900BT. I still have the form here in PDF format. Copied directly: Buy a Pioneer AVIC-F500BT or AVIC-F900BT navigation unit between 15th November 2008 and 31st July 2009 or until stocks run out and receive the 2009 Map Upgrade FREE.To redeem this offer, send in this redemption form with your proof of purchase to Pioneer P.O. Box 295, Mordialloc, Victoria 3195 before 31st August 2009.Your details will be entered into our FREE Map Upgrade Database. When we receive the Upgrade i
  11. I would not be so quick to jump to Kenwood. I moved over from a DNX8320 because of the constant crashing, and the 3 headunits I went through under warantee due to nav board failure. Not to mention the BT that would never connect to any phone I had, terrible sound quality, and an ipod interface that was attrocious to use was also a major reason to dump it. The F900 is much better than any Kenwood's I have had or used, even though there are a list of grievances with the F900. Unresponsive touch screen; a lack of simple usable functions (why 1 letter at a time to search playlists and n
  12. The Australian version misses out on VR too, and last time I checked we are an English speaking country. So I think language is not the reason for the feature being deleted. There must be an easy way to turn it back on though.
  13. I get it too, and I put it down to the cables being not of the highest quality. Giving it a gentle wiggle where it goes into the ipod will make it jump in and out of connection, and I know my ipod (80gb 5th) is fine with any other cables connected to it.
  14. Our local model F900BT comes with the ipod cable in the box, even though it doesn't list it on the outside anywhere.
