  2. take it to best buy or circuit city... you dont need to be fiddling with it if you have no real experience... you dont have to have the VSS wire installed to have nav working... GPS is just a device that is in your car and it reads 6 satellites at a time to determine your speed.
  3. I'm having the same issue w/ my 3g iphone w/ the latest 3.0 release on both the AVIC and the iphone... using the Pioneer cable, it only shows the same "not compatible" bs...... any ideas? I dont want to have to remove my entire dash again to replace this stupid cable...
  4. I have this same issue with my F90BT... I plug the cable into my iPhone 3G that has the latest software (3.0) and I get that same message...... how do I use it as an ipod? Do I need to change the cables out or what? thx
  5. Be sure you are copying all the files into the root of "My Flash Disk" and not copying a subfolder into this device... I did that on accident and of course it wont work... what you should see under "My Flash Disk" is a few folders and files like this: APL, APL2, APL3, DumpFiles, ExtraDumpFiles, USER, & DATA folders and about 12 files... any other folders should be removed. so in step 11 or 12 (Cant remember which) when it says "Select all" & Copy, be sure you are inside the correct folder! Then PASTE it into the ROOT of "My Flash Disk" on the AVIC... it will take about 20-3
  6. I'll mirror it tonight and post it here... if someone can tell me how to update to 3.1
  7. So the files in AVIC_X-Series_Firmware_Update.zip are for 3.01 (minus the WinCE files)? And do we load them the same way as 3.0? Thx
  8. OK just completed this but it took me a few tries... I used one 2GB SD card and copied: These folders "My Flash Disk" "testmode" and these 2 files on the root of the SD card: WINCEIMG.BIN WINCEIMG.CKS Inside the "My Flash Disk" is the files from the bottom level of the bittorrent file... Be sure to copy the files INSIDE "My Flash Disk" to the root of "\My Flash Disk" instead of "\My Flash Disk\My Flash Disk" which won't work obviously! I did this on accident because on step 11.2, it says select all but I did that on the root level of the SD card and copied the entir
  9. When the car is not moving, the map rotates 180 degrees really fast and then back a few times then it settles down when I start moving again... why is this? Will the 3.0 update fix this? Thanks
  10. silly question but I downloaded the "AVIC_X-Series_Firmware_Update.zip" and there is no "My Flash Disk" folder inside... only "LPUE080"... should this be renamed to "My Flash Disk"? Or just copy the contents of "LPUE080" into the "My Flash Disk" on the AVIC? Thx! That's the only unclear thing I can see so far...
  11. For those of you Bittorrent n00bs, and don't have a bittorrent client installed, when you click a *.torrent file, it will just open a bunch of garbage because your browser doesn't know how to handle it. as stated before, setup your favorite BT Client then Right click > Save target as > (Save somewhere on your computer) then double click it to open it with your BT client... I like to use ABC (another bittorrent client) very light weight and easy to use.
  12. like i didnt search search doesn't come up with jack. Finally got this link from a friend: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... hard+drive
  13. has anyone been able to confirm this? For the USB connection in the back, does this have to be used with the ipod / iphone cable? Or can this be used to plug in an external HD (provided you have external power) and then still be able to use the ipod ?
  14. Hey guys, I was thinking of plugging a USB hub into the back of my F90BT and then plug in a few different things...External hard disk, cameras etc.... will this work? Thanks!
  15. Just got my F90BT (not installed yet).... where do I get the files to boot into WinCE? I did a search and no love...... thanks EDIT: Just found it http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17542
