  1. damn, you must have a lot of unsecured wifi's in your area!!! lol
  2. IF the problem actually has to do with your install, you either have something that is getting caught up in the action (which you should be able to see and fix) or something was damaged during the install and needs to be replaced. if by looking at it, you can not figure out what the problem is, then you will need to take it to get fixed. also check for any linkage that may have got knocked loose or bent.
  3. sounds like a problem due to a hack or mod, probably should ask in that section.
  4. interesting, i wonder why its not working for the OP?
  5. this is what vblue is talking about, the avics do not do any kind of internal decoding from ipods, all of the videos and music are decoded inside the ipod then transmitted to the avic, the usb only sync cable that comes with the iphones do not carry any video or audio signals, they just provide power to charge and data to control or transfer data. this is why you need to have a composite video and usb cable for them to work. again there is no way possible that you ever had any video playing by just using a sync cable with your iphone
  6. well they probably figured that using common colors (green = go, yellow = caution, and red = stop) was probably good enough for most people. if you want a lot of details about traffic, you should probably just listen to the radio, its really not safe to be reading information off of the screen.
  7. i have seen repair services on ebay before, but i havent looked for this fix, you may be able to find one of those for far less than the price of pioneer.
  8. different units do have different posistions that the mute wire need to be moved, you will want to make sure that you are following the right set of instructions. as i have never heard of a x9115bt, im not sure which method to follow, but if all of the plugs look the same as a x910, i would start there, i have never seen a bypass for any of the F, X, or Z units to need a soldering iron to complete the task.
  9. while it is "pretty sweet", it is always much faster to find exactly what you want from the ipod directly. oh yea, as mention in the first thing he said, apperantly the newer Iphone he has will not transmit video through that cable, which is the whole reason that he is looking for another solution.
  10. you should try this with something else hooked up the camera input (like a dvd player) and see if the problem continues. if the problem goes away, then the problem is probably with the video wiring picking up interference. if the problem continues, then you may have an issue with you avic, maybe something like a bad solder joint inside the unit that is either causing or picking up the interference.
  11. have you tried through USB instead of SD? it could be an internal software glitch.
  12. well it totally depends on where the problem actually lies, if you can make it cut out by wiggling the harness, then it is probably a bad/lose connection where the connector meets the circuit board, this is where the solder job would need to be done if this is the case. could also just send it to pioneer to have them repair it if it sounds like too much for you to do, but it doesn't come at a cheap price unless it is still under warranty (if it is still covered, there is no way i would try to fix it myself, way too much stuff to go wrong)
  13. and according to directechs, the VSS wire is gray/orange or gray located at either the data link connector, 16 pin plug, pin 6 or at the BCM, white 20 pin connector, pin 6 (The BCM (Body Control Module) is in the center dash, behind the A/C controls. The data link connector is under the driver dash.) it also says that the reverse wire is gray or brown, located either in the drivers kick panel or back of the fuse box, 30pin plug, pin 13 or 14. as always, test all wires with a DMM, not a test light!
  14. i would get power from the camera from the acc wire at the radio, then you can get the reverse trigger wire from the reverse light bulb at the back of the car. that way you could always use the camera when not in reverse if you wanted too.
  15. make sure that your antenna has a perfect view of the sky and nothing is blocking it, also make sure that the VSS is hooked up and reset the learning process. if these are both good to go, then there may be a problem with you unit.
  16. you would need a 4 pin aux cable (audio and video) where a standard aux cable is only three pins
  17. ^+1 any button on the steering wheel can be programmed to operate the source. however if you dont have any SW controls, then you are SOL.
  18. very few store bought CDs actually have any data information on them, this is normal. not pioneers fault, but a fault of the record industry. as far as the ipod, along with jasons advice, are you also using the correct ipod cable? a standard usb sync cable will not function correctly.
  19. well as talked about hundreds of times, any mic with a 2.5mm connector should work, people have used mics from garmin and parrot before
  20. so wait a minute, you have a Isimple cable plugged into AV1? and then you also have the Apple composite video cable plugged into both the USB AND the AV1 (as shown as needed in the manual) also??? how do you have two cables plugged into the same AV1 input at the same time? this is probably your problem as for the apple video cable to work, you need to have both the usb and the composite video part of the cable plugged in. the whole point of using the composite video cable from apple is that pioneer uses the USB to control the device and deliver all of the text information, then they us
  21. well let me assure you that it was not done (correctly anyways) allready did, READ POST #8 so lets make sure im paying attention, a DVD will show up on the screen while parked (if yes, then the P-brake wire is grounded and not your problem) a DVD will stop showing up on the screen while moving over a certian speed (if yes then the newely moved mute wire is not grounded or not in the right posistion) long story short, this is a easy bypass, move one pin, and ground two wires, if it works, then it is done right. if it doesn't work then it is done wrong. e
  22. it shouldn't, make sure the unit is off, and dont turn it on for a couple of mins after it has been sprayed in case any of the liquid comes out.
  23. there is usually too many varibles for a certian schedule. i usually just say its time when it seems to needs it.
  24. its definitely a good chance that they are maybe, but it depends on wether or not the problem also effects the pre outs.
