    Same problem, Sometimes when reconnecting it will stay backed out and the only way to get it to refresh is to kill it and reopen.

    They wont devote resourses to fix a bug when there is a workaround. At leaset that has been the case with every unit I have owned over the years with similar such bugs. Thats just the way they operate. I will say they have gotten better over the last two years it seems but bad practices die hard.

    I agree but it probably won't get fixed. Pioneer will consider it to easy for you to just kill the app and reopen.

    The AR app being blacked out when you reconnect is a known issue and will likely never be addressed. The only work around is to kill the app and re-launch. It sucks but unfortunatly it is what it is.

    The Microbypass devices work just fine for the 4000.

    Exactly, no one on this forum would ever identify themselves as a Pioneer employee or they would likely be fired. They monitor this board and would not tolerate any of their people disclosing such info. If he is Pioneer related however, I want to be able to check his credibility if he is going to posting such info on this forum. That is why I asked how he knew the info he was posting.

    What iOS version do you have and is your phone jail broken?

    The bypass on AVIC units has always been to ground the parking brake wire along with another proceeded to properly achieve the bypass so it is by habit that this is stil done. Quite frankly I feel Pioneer may eliminate this "software" bypass with the CarPlay update so this is probably not a bad practice sense it will likly be needed if they do change the bypass.

    If you have the 2013 maps then you should already be upgraded to the 140. In order to use the i5 you have to have the CD-IV202NAVI connection kit plus the Apple VGA adapter.

    It has been reported by many on this forum the the software option detaed on this thread is all that is nessisary.

    ARM doesnt need USB at all. USB is usewd for charging the phone only.

    I would avoid online car stereo at all cost. They have horrible reviews including a thread on this forum that details the nightmare a member had with them.

    I really don't think car manufactures are that focused on CarPlay to make that a priority in their marketing.
