  1. I have been told that they stopped the sports , at least when Baseball isn't happening, as it is the schedules and scores, etc of NFL, NBA, NHL , etc and that was upsetting alot of XM customers who were being reminded of all the wonderful sports they are not getting on their XM service. This kind of makes sense , as early in the day, I would see the upcoming schedule and make a mental note that so and so game was going to be on, and then would make a note of it from my XM screen and then tune into the game on that 'other' sat service LOL ... Okay, here is go again, but , you know w
  2. You make a very good point and I do appreciate that very much. The reason is simple. Because the install quality at this point wins out. It's a sweet install and very clean, right down to having figured out well before what is now common knowledge how to connect up the factory steering wheel buttons, and even keeping the OnStar integrated and working 100%, etc. I don't 'hate' anyone. But, no one likes to get taken advantage of and hopefully you won't ever have the need to rely on any of these two companies for anything important. Also, as I have both Sat services, I get the be
  3. It's not 'broken' they are not providing the service as per STATS.com !!!
  4. I hate it when people have a problem then don't let everyone who may read about it later on if it ever got fixed or not. Soooo, to be fair, here's the situation regarding the LA Nav Traffic outage. The ver 1.2 disc that should have been sent by Pioneer months and months previous was the source of the problem the entire time. XM changed their signal and the 1.0 disc was outdated to use Nav Traffic. So, the Nav Traffic is 'On' again, and we are now back to useless outdated information that has no time stamps and hardely ever is accurate in any way shape or form. If you are in the
  5. SportsFan ... I think you are right! Wow, good call.
  6. Not exactly effective as if you used this feature you'd soon realize that it does NOT take into account the direction you are traveling and/or the 'route' at all. I believe that was the point of the original question. In short, the answer is NO, and best thing you can do is to take your eyes off the road at 70MPH and try to figure out if the POI is ahead behind or another direction from where you want to go by way of the map icon next to the name of the POI that shows up. This is just in about 100 other weak features that even the basic GM stock navigation system does better than this

  9. Kicks A** , you will be VERY happy with both the sound quality and the program lineups.
  10. Jason, I have an ISO for D1 Ver 1.2 and can't figure out where I'm supposed to place the logos and/or otherwise how to use these awesome logos you made. I already burned a 'backup' that i use instead of the actual OEM disc, as it tracks better, and never ever have the boot up or other problems any more , so would like to add in the logos, as it's really much safer to see logos while driving than having to read the screens , etc. Basically, am I sleeping at the switch here and miss a place where you posted a how to page? Happy Holidays, Thanks K
  11. I have the XM box + Sirius + Ipod all directly into the D-1. The Source buttons work as follows XM = XM Siruis = Sirius EXT 1 = Ipod Adapter (as no Ipod Source Button on D-1) Also, have monster A/V cables for other devices I want to use from time to time tucked into the glove box and ready to do = A/V button. Hope this helps K
  12. Finally, after months and months and months of time, I got the 1.2 D-1 disc and it seems to have corrected the traffic problem. If you are using a 1.0 disc you need to update to the 1.2, which is free for registered owners of D-1. There are still many other concerns with the D-1 unit and the 1.2 update is still very old and has other problems, but to fix the traffic data issue, you first must have at least the 1.2 disc to begin with. This would also explain (possibly) why the 60MP Upgrade disc worked as well, as one would assume the software would be compliant with the XM data signal
  13. I have an ant farm on the roof of my truck all 3 next to each other, very close together no problems at all. GPS, Sirius and XM tuner with NavTraffic , so you should be fine with having them next to each other. Actually, for outside of the larger markets and XM cheating with on the ground booster signals, don't be surprised if you go out of town and dont get reception if not outside the vehicle in the clear. But back to answering your question, no problem having the all together. Hope this helps, Ken

  15. I changed the XM tumer box to a brand new one. When this brand new, never before use unit was being activated, it took more than 30 minutes of time to complete, at which time, everything was working perfectly. So, it was obvious that the problem was the XM Tumer box. I then proceeded to drive to my next destination of the day, about 30 minutes drivetime. MY appointment was about 45 minutes max. When I started the vehicle, back to the original problem again. So, it's NOT the tuner, its not resetting the tuner , nor resetting the head unit either becuase I did all of the above mul
  16. I am going to replace my XM tuner with a brand new unit in the next few days to rule out the tuner hardware being at fault. I am also going to visit local car dealers and ask them to show me their awesome real time traffic service working in the vehicle. This will let us know if it is the source signal or the hardware. If this does not solve the problem, I will drive to Pioneer and knock on their door and get their attention to fix the problem OR they can have the whole thing back, and I will happily install the Alpine system with Sirius traffic instead. I have literally ho
  17. I propose that one of us or all of us go visit Pioneer, they are in LA basin (Long Beach). Let the 'Boss' show off how his system does or does not work properly, and that will be that. I will go down there no problem as too much invested to just let it go. Otherwise I would dump XM and go Sirius for the traffic too, but that's ALPINE system. Actually ALPINE offers both, so maybe i;ll visit the Alpine dealer and he can show me both of them Other idea is to visit new car dealer and ask to see demo of nav traffic in the Acura and Cadillacs that have it installed. I cannot speak for
  18. If that is the case, whereby they updated something on Their side that outdated our units, then they should be honest about the situation and send us whatever software and/or new units it takes to fix the situation. There's some good suspicion on this, especially with their new relationship with some new auto mfg partnerships, especially Cadillac, whereby remember XM is born from GM, and well that explains a lot. Anyway, the good news and bad news seems to be that whatever it is is very rare situation , otherwise google would have tons of info when you search about the problem. It do
  19. Okay, now I know there's something going on with these guys at either Pioneer or XM or both, and the only reason they are getting away with it is becuase I think the three of us and a couple more people are the only ones who paid them all that extra money for the service. It comes for free in some new cars, and almost all the other XM subscribers that call so called customer service are using 10 dollar portable radios. Typical example of how companies don't care to support the minority who pay the big bucks. Anyway, I have gotton zero help from the store where I bought it. Pion
  20. Brian, Any luck in getting to know what is wrong with our XM traffic service? Mine is still messed up beyond belief and I'm going to the 'dealer' who's been less than eithical with me in dealing with them and won't name here to still give time to fix it. However, maybe you know the answers to look for after all this time? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
  21. Yes, the problem is worse. Let's figure out how we can get things fixed! Ken
  22. For the past 2+ weeks, XM Navtraffic has NOT been working in my home area in the West side of Los Angeles. The unit seems to be working fine, as it gives me all the OTHER data for the other zones labled San Barnadino and Orange County, up to the design limit of around 100 miles from my location. Basically, the closest event and/or speed info is around 40 miles away from LA. If anyone is from or around the LA area, and/or has a similar problem in their area, would you please let me know. I have spent useless time with XM call centers (4 calls total over 2 hours) in the past week
