  1. I have pushed both ends in as far they go....I just ordered one of the cables direct from Pioneer...that will tell me the answer.
  2. Ok, long story short, the system was running fine. I needed the cd changer cable for a different vehicle, because the other vehicle's cable went bad. So, I ordered a new cable off of ebay. Of course, I didn't closely inspect it and went to install it. First thing I found was that the ends do not have the click-in lock mechanism. Then, I found that both ends were black instead of one being black and one blue, but the pinning all looked correct. Then, when I went to plug the power plug in, the fuse blew...several times...and then I figured out that the electrical plug pinning was reversed.
  3. When does everyone get his/her money back? You understand what you are proposing could destroy the forum and make the best of friends enemies. A man's word should be good enough, it is legally binding, and if they don't ponie up, then everyone knows the type of person that individual is.
  4. Try reseting the 3d calibration...
  5. Reset the 3d calibration info...
  6. So it is working now? If so, the bill is in the mail
  7. Reset your data...I don't have access to a n2/n3 right now, but if you go into the nav settings, you can reset the calibration info. Do that and see if it fixes it. I have seen the problem quite often, especially when someone buys a unit that was installed in a different car previously...I have seen it actually have the car driving backwards, not due to the position of the brain, but due to the brain having learned the signals from the other car.
  8. I am having a big problem being able to see the screen of my N2 with the top down. I have tried adjusting the brightness, which has not helped. The light just seems to bleach all the colors from the screen. Anyone have a fix?
  9. With all the people on 3si.org...there are plenty of owners
  10. Just a heads up, on the spyder...well actually all manual 3000gt's, you really can only tap the reverse wire at the taillights. I know, I installed a AVIC N3 in a 1995 vr-4 spyder. Fun Fun....
  11. Did you try the unit before doing the bypass?
  12. No, I sent Pioneer my unit and they did the fix for free.
  13. I can't seem to find the brightness controls to control how bright the screen is. I have the illumination wire hooked up, and the nav dims at night when the lights are turned on, but during the day, I have probs seeing the radio/cd screen because of the darkness. I have looked through all the settings and can't seem to find it. Thanks.
  14. Ok, per my previous post, I have determined since installing an N2 in my mother's car, it is draining the battery at a very fast rate (over night or within a day and a half). The battery is only several months old and is a Odyssey deep cycle, so it is a high end battery. Moreover, the N2 was in my father's truck and he had the same problem of battery drain, although we believed it to be from a different source (He got an N3 and we swapped it out, and he hasn't had probs with the N3). Thus I am looking for suggestions of where to look for such a huge drain. I won't be able to check the car unt
  15. They car already has an Odyssey battery, which is a far superior battery to the optimas.
  16. Hmm...I should have thought to check on 3si...but this seemed so related to the N2, because it was in my father's F150 King Ranch and now in my mom's car, and the issue seems to have "traveled." Like I said, prior to this, she didn't really have any probs.
  17. Well it is a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4, but I don't think that or anything else should matter because the vehicle didn't have the problem prior. It had a Alpine CVA-1005, which I replaced with the N2, and only then did this battery drain begin. I fully charged up the battery over night, so I am going to go see what it is like now.
  18. Ok, I understand my question is somewhat nebulous, but so is the situation. My father had an N2 installed in his truck, as well as, several other electronics. (Junxion Box, so that he is basically a rolling ISP, converters...etc). Anyway, he was having a problem with battery drain, where after a day of not using the vehicle, it would be dead. I assume it was him leaving something on or such. Anyway, his unit ended up being one that needed the flex cable update. He had already ordered a N3, so we decided to install the N2 into my mother's car when it came back. I plugged the N3 into my fat
  19. On an N2, where even the navigation sees the time in 12hr sequences instead of 24hr military time, how does one change this setting on the radio/cd/...etc of the N2? I have looked through all the settings and can't find it. I don't remember it being like this prior, but I recently sent it to Pioneer for the flex cable upgrade, and now it is in military time. Thanks for any input.
  20. You could just have bad Dvd's (GPS Maps)...call Pioneer Tech Support
  21. With the n3, you shouldn't have to connect it. I am sorry I can't be of more help...only thing I can think of is, are you using the amp built into the radio or the rca to an external amp? If the built in one, do you have an external one to try? (Aka maybe you have a defective N3). It really sounds given all your problems that something is defective...you might want to call Pioneer tech support and get their take on it...
  22. The sound issue, have you hooked up the guide on wire? If so that will constantly mute the headunit...to see if this is the case, try turning the volume up and see if Mute is displayed.
  23. The N3 brain will probably cost him more than spending $250 to have the unit upgraded to the N3 specs...
  24. yeah I figured you would know, but I figured others might not. It is a 1995.
