  1. The 3.0 upgrade was a breeze. I did experience the error at 99%, but a single retry corrected the problem and the upgrade finished successfully. So far, the unit is much, much more responsive. The MSN Direct feature works flawlessly, receiving the updates much faster and getting a much stronger signal. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase.
  2. If you find a way to have the Chicago red light file converted so that the unit gives an audible warning, please share.
  3. A quick PS: Kim did ask if I was registered on the Pioneer website, but could not find me by my last name or e-mail, so she quickly registered me herself.
  4. Called and spoke with Kim, a very pleasant lady. She did not ask for a serial number, but she did mention the heavy call volume today. I mentioned that we were all likely following the same message board to which she replied "So you know about the $60 deal then?" and proceeded with the order. I'm done and the final price came out to $68.75
  5. This certainly has me excited for the update. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Well, I live in a major city and hence would never go back to satellite radio. The signal I get in Chicago is great, and since I rarely travel, HD radio is a great solution. Sure, paying for a HD tuner isn't great, but neither is paying for a satellite tuner + a monthly fee. To each his own, I suppose. And yes, if you're not near a big city, satellite is really the only choice for digital radio.
  7. Check the sticky FAQ thread in this forum and look for Testmode... Actually, just go through the entire hacking FAQ thread. It'll save you time later
  8. This could indicate that your parking break bypass isn't grounded/connected properly. I'd check the connections again...
  9. I assume this would vary based on your vehicle. I have mine installed behind and beneath the receiver deck. There was ample room for it there. In my previous vehicles I had them in the passanger footwell (under dash) and behind the glove box.
  10. Yeah, that'll be it. The MSN Direct tuner requires the FM antenna be plugged directly into the deck. It works just fine with a splitter though. I'm in Chicago and have both good HD reception and working MSN Direct.
  11. Search for Best Kits BAAY2M... That's the one I had in my RAV4. I think I picked mine up off ebay for about 3 bucks. Right now I'm using a home-made splitter to utilize my HD radio as well as the MSN Direct option, since that requires the FM antenna plugged into the deck. Works well.
  12. Here is my own issue with MSN Direct and a F90BT. First off, I also have a F500BT which gets a very strong MSN Direct signal, so I know my location is of no consequence. Second, my F90BT is also outfitted with an HD Radio Tuner, so the FM antenna is plugged directly into the HD tuner, which is then connected to the deck via the IP Bus cable. Problem is that while I get perfect FM/AM/HD reception, I get absolutely no MSN Direct signal. Searching on here has pointed out that the MSN tuner uses the FM antenna for reception. Could the HD tuner be somehow interfering? I've tried resetti
  13. This has been addressed here at large. Do a search for 2008.04 maps. The 2008.10 maps will not work with your Avic since they are meant for the newer version of iGo (8.3.x)...

    peace out.

Just a quick thank you to CMH for the mod. This collection has made my F500 a much more powerful and user-friendly device. I look forward to updating my F90 with this solution as well. Thanks CMH. Your work here is much appreciated!
  15. Quick addition: Funnily enough, the unit was not previously activated. I have the free 3 month account up and running now.
