1. freakin' troll. what is this, 4chan? good lord.
2. I've had NONE of those problems. Sounds like an epic fail device. I'd get some warranty service done.
3. Called my girlfriend on it and she said it sounds clear, and plenty loud enough. You don't have to talk directly into it at all. I tend to talk about 45 degrees away from it and it's still fine Shouldn't be necessary to drill a hole unless you really want to. The double-sided tape works well.
4. +1. I installed my own in my 08 Accent, and I've had no issues whatsoever.
5. It has been discussed on this forum that a likely cause of that is the vehicle itself, and the signals it's sending the headunit. Thus far, after having driven the car 200 miles with the unit installed, I've had no issues. Also, any issues that are happening with the device... why would they be CarToys fault? They're not an evil business... they're a retail store located in the midwest, just like BestBuy. Anything that's going wrong with your unit is likely the fault of Pioneer. It's not like CarToys opens their products just to secretly sabotage them. That's dumb.
6. Bought mine for $594 with free shipping from CarToys via Amazon Storefront. Brand New. Factory Sealed. Unit works GREAT! Shipped with 2.0 Firmware (obviously). If you'd bought it when you were originally comparison shopping for it, you could have saved $100 The hardware Parking Brake Bypass worked, too. The bypass is a little tricky, as far as getting the mute wire into it's new location... it's hard to jam a tiny flimsy wire into a piece of plastic, but needle nose pliers did the trick. Great purchase and extremely fast route recalculation (approximately 1 second, IF that). Bluetooth w
7. How about some more Hyundai ones? (not using my sig... that's not a great pic of my car lol)
8. More than half of the problems people are complaining about on here can be easily solved by simply reading the Operating Manual.
9. How about the value for the money though? Personally, I think having a GPS/DVD/Radio/BT for $600 is a much better value than my previous GPS device ($400 Navigon 7200T). And the bright side is, you can actually update the F90BT, whereas you can't update the Navigon (since they bailed on the N/A market).
10. Have you ever worked with wires before? Yes, of COURSE grounding can be undone. As long as you arent WELDING it to your frame... just screw down the bare wire connection to an existing screw on your frame, and voila. Easy on, Easy off.
11. Right... you can't activate MSN without having the device code. Once you do have it, though, you can renew directly from MSN, and it does show the price to be 99.99 right now. Thank you sir
12. So the trick is to install the gps, then use your activation code to buy it through the site? You can't buy it in advance.
13. That is not true... you can buy off of MSN Direct site. link?
14. Dear nubs, You need to calm down with the speculating and simply read the Pioneer site. "Coming Soon! Model year 2009 TeleAtlas database on SD Card, featuring nearly 12 million POI, US and Canada coverage (including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico). Includes firmware version 3.0, including heading-up option in 2D view, Highway Sign Boards, enhanced map UI with improved contrast, and more. Models with built-in MSN Direct will feature 3 additional channels (news, stocks and local events) and traffic flow displayed on map. Compatible with AVIC F-Series In-Dash navigation syste
15. ahhh. touche. Sorry, I keep thinking this is a forum for the F90BT... i've only been here for a couple days, so it'll take some getting used to. Yeah, that would be rough.. paying that much of a percentage. Point taken.
16. Same here. I'm just saying I think it's a worthwhile investment Just like how you bout this great unit, instead of some knockoff brand one. It's a good investment, at least I think so. Either way, do your own thing.
17. but not of all of us have $130 to spare, i myself don't have an extra $130 for the updated maps, that's why i'm modding my unit to get the most out of it, even if it means spending 5 hours a day figuring things out Without getting too mean... But you spent ~$600 on the unit? That baffles me. I mean, don't get me wrong.. if it comes out on BitTorrent, of course I'll download it. But $130 is not asking a lot at all considering it's a multi-year investment.
18.
Is this wire necessary for operation, if so why, what is it's purpose? Thank You, Matt
Read previous posts. There are like 20 pages of previous posts, and this exact question is answered on virtually every page. It's so that if you lose GPS signal for whatever reason (such as a tunnel or whatnot), it still generally knows how far you've travelled based on your vehicle's speed.
19. There are no torrents there, nub lol... Those are sponsored links from other download mediums.
20. Hmmm, I though Navigon still supports their units here and will honor FreshMaps subscriptions (I have an older one, 7000 or whatever it was), even if they won't sell new ones... The devices themselves still work. But Navigon no longer has a customer service phone line in N/A, and they reply with prewritten scripts via email. Also, I never got a chance to purchase the FreshMaps subscription, so my device was basically bricked. I couldn't update it with anything, and what's the point of holding onto a GPS device that cannot receive updated maps? lol... my side-job is secret shopper, so I n
21. Good for you for getting out in time too... I had bought a Navigon 7200T ($400 unit) 2 months ago... and then Navigon FOLDED in North America. I sold that thing on Craigslist ASAP! Got back all $200 I had spent on it at least Using that money to buy my new F90BT I think it'll be worth the $130
22. doubtful it would have shipped with 3.0, seeing as retailers already have the product on the shelves. I just bought my F90BT 2 days ago as well. But with the money I saved on buying it ($594 from CarToys.com), I definitely am comfortable with spending $130 on a major update
