  1. Thanks for the reply... is there any module that works with the GMs that DOES provide the VR button?
  2. I have a 2009 Chevy Conversion van with the same steering wheel interface as the Suburban/Yukon/Tahoe... After ALOT of programming and REprogramming, I have finally got the SWIPS to respond kindasorta ok. Biggest issues are intermittent latency in response... especially with the MUTE/ATT button and the VOL buttons. The TrackUP/Down, SOURCE, and Category> button respond much better than the above. Unfortunately, I can seem to get the MUTE button to function as the "VR" button, and have to press the button on the HU to get that to activate. Is this something do to how I programmed it
  3. Just curious Mike, did the NAV perform any better/worse for you on your latest trip?

    Z110BT QUESTIONS

    1. dont have HD, sorry 2. sounds like you need to do the bypass hack... viewtopic.php?f=57&t=25867
  5. I took it to mean that they likely have contracts with companies providing the data that expire in 2014 and that is why the service might go away then.... "Lifetime" means lifetime of a great dane i guess
  6. I've been here around 6 weeks or so now, I figure this is the right place to say "Howdy" and to express my gratitude for the admin(s) of this site... If it wasnt for this place, I would still be debating between a Kenwood, Eclipse and Pioneer HU. Now, a mostly satisfied Z110 owner, and glad to have a place to hear from other owners. CHEERS!
  7. I think the problem is with the SWI-PS sending the ATT command to the remote input instead of the MUTE command, so it doesnt matter what you set for the degree of "Mute" ala page 161.... with my chevy conversion van, the SWI-PS is VERY tempramental... the MUTE button often has to be held for several seconds to actuate a ATT function, and several seconds again to deactivate it. And the other commands were VERY hit n miss and required multiple attempts at programming. Ultimately, if I want a true "mute' i have to hit the button on the HU.
  8. Just wondering if all Pioneer units have this problem with the Nav, or is it just the z110? Have other model units received updates which have been able to show improvements to the Nav' logic process?
  9. I couldnt get the pin out either, so I used some of the excess VSS wire to do exactly what you say above... I passed the wire in untwisted, and used some insulation as a wedge to keep the wire in and a jewlers screwdriver to jam it in very tight. Then I used a pushpin to make a path for the pin from the headunit between the copper strands. Worked perfect, and my wife stills get to use the mute function to yell at the kids
  10. Glad I didnt pull the trigger on a GEXP920xm on Ebay.... NAME YOUR PRICE is counteroffered me $82 with no tax and free shipping. Anyone get any better?
  11. If the instant replay doesnt matter to you, you can get almost all of the Sirius lineup via your GEXP920XM by purchasing the 'Best of Sirius" lineup via your XM account.
  12. Yes, the "Sirius Connect" Function allows the HU to completely control the Sirius, and info will be displayed on your HU instead of the portable unit.... the downside of the Sirius setup is that you only get one line of text instead of three with the XM tuner, no channel logo artwork, and it costs ALOT more than the XM tuner to get the setup with the Instant Replay function..... unforunately, my wife says she wants to have the instant replay over the above with the XM, so I have been trying to figure out how to do it. If the Instant Replay isnt that important to you, then just get the GEXP
  13. Yes, its been my pet project to get it to work ..... It DOES work but only with the right equipment, and no documentation really tells you what that is. Basically, you need the SCVDOC1, a Starmate 5 (or Sportster 4 according to Pioneer Support), and the CD-SB10. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=27827
  14. This is the reply I got from Pioneer Support: "Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. We have tested the Sportster4, using the SCVD0C1 kit, along with the CD-SB10. After listening to the station for a minute or so, we were able to rewind the song. The longer you stay on the station, the more you can rewind. Thank You, Pioneer Support Group" Sure would have been nice if they actually made a list of units that they HAD tested!
  15. Thanks for the links! Just bid on one from Ebay...... I tried tried to find this on a forum (and ebay) search, and obviously I was using the wrong search terms.
  16. I live in a small relatively safe town, but I travel to a major metro several times a year.... I would like something to place over the Z to deter theives when we park downtown. Anyone have recommendations?
  17. Just curious since the Z110-bt is the first aftermarket unit I've had in a car in about 25 years... what about the F910 do you dislike? Why do you want to upgrade?
  18. Ditto, I almost never use FM, and when I do, Id rather just have it direct..... but SiriusXM + Ipod covers the need of the family most of the time.

    dual zone

I am with you on this... If the thing would send the Nav Screen to the video out display, then I would be putting in a HUD for the Nav in a heartbeat. Far safer to be looking at the windshield for my Nav instructions/map instead of down at the lower dash. Seems almost stupid that they would disable the nav screen from being output to the Vid Out.
  20. 1. I have MSN, but I live just outside the service area, so I have not yet tested it. 2. This is a HUGE gripe for me as well, and had I known it, I would have gone with XM instead. The XM unit does show the presets and the channel logos. The only advantage of the Sirius unit is that *with the right components* you can have the Instant Replay function and the Game Alert function. You need the SVCDOC1, the CDSB10, and a Starmate 5... the Stillettos do NOT work with the instant replay even though they are suppose to. 3. I have had issues with the SD card as well.... I wonder if its a fun

    dual zone

"Dual Zone' means you only get two choices.... so you CAN have the Ipod Video OR DVD playing on your main screen and the other playing on the rear-view monitor. But, you can select which output you want on which screen, or you can show the same output on both. Regarding the rear view monitor, in order to send the image to the rearmonitor you might have to put in a splitter and route one output to the rear-cam and the other to the AV-2 input... assuming you still want to have the usual 'rear-cam' features. I've been considering doing this for my conversion van.
  22. Since I seem to be the only one interested in this at the moment, I will update this for whoever may search on this in the future.... my apologies to those who dont give a toot. I have found that the 'Starmate 5' actually DOES seem to work with the 'instant replay" function.... I almost wish it didnt because now it makes me tempted to keep this thing from Best Buy instead dumping all things Sirius and going with GEX-P920XM.
  23. I am with you... I am downright pissed that not only is the Sirius product so inferior, but it doesnt even do the ONE THING that would make it tolerable for me that the XM doesnt do, and that is the 'Instant Replay' function. I have yet to see a post from someone who has admitted to getting this to work. Didnt mean to highjack your thread here.... Great pics of the BMW install BTW
  24. Yes, but you have to pay for "The best of Sirius" package via XM.
  25. I'll try to rephrase the question.... has anyone out there running a system where the 'Instant replay' function actually works? I can not seem to get it to work with a stilletto 100, stilletto 2, or scc1 Any help would be appreciated!
