  1. I have the same radio. I just installed a rear camera over the weekend. I tapped the power source from the amp in the trunk so there is a constant power. I grounded the black wire. I ran a separate lead from the reverse lamp of the taillight to the purple/white lead of the harness of the radio. There should be a wire on the bottom tier of the harness just to the right of the black ground wire. That is what triggers the HU to know when you are in reverse. By tapping into a constant power I can allow for the camera to be used while in motion if needed.
  2. There is also a jack attached to the main harness of the unit that will allow you to plug into a AUX input if your factory unit supplies one.
  3. Anyone else having an issue updating the unit? I downloaded the firmware. Used both Winzip and Winrar to unzip and I cannot get the unit to read the firmware at all. I used the same card that I used to perform the software mod. I can get into the testmod but I take that off and place the firmware on and just can't get the update to work. I am having the same issue with the Bluetooth update. Anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong? I would call Pioneer but they close at 7:30 EST. Thanks. EDIT I FIGURED OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. . . Anyone who used the 700/900
  4. Just wanted to let you guys know that hifiaudio, the link referenced, is actually a decent company. I have ordered numerous things from them. Most recently a Avic-F500BT. It can in 2 days via UPS ground. It was nicely boxed in a Pioneer box with all the parts and very clean. I am not a troll for them, but a normal guys who comes here for info. Some of the crap from NY is bad, but I can personally attest to these guys.
  5. Thanks for the great write up. Grounded the green and performed update and can CONFIRM on F500BT that this works. It's great when things go the way they should.
  6. This is the one I have, works great: http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-Steering-Wh ... dZViewItem
  7. I have the one from fleebay. Actually works really good. I just have to fabricate something better that the bracket it comes with. For $40, it's not a bad deal at all.
  8. If you make a MP3 cd, the info will be available. Also, there are some newer CDs that carry the track titles. My wife put in the new Celine Dion CD into mine and when I pulled up the cd menu, there was all the track listings.
  9. Move the antenna outside. Sometimes the magnetic field throws it off. I would put it in the back trunk or on the roof. You can just run the wire under the trim and into the trunk.
  10. Check eBay. You can find what you need there. You'll need a D1/D2 harness and gps.
  11. Do you have the bypass performed correctly?
  12. I recently installed a reverse camera. I wanted to tape into the reverse lamp at the rear lights but can't figure the proper color wire to tap. I didn't want to remove the whole lamp if possible. Thanks for the help.
  13. Everything will hook up, just remember what you are losing. We did a D2 in my father in laws 07. Looks good but he gave up the in dash 6 disc changer. But I understand the cost factor. Nav in my 05 Altima was a $3k option. No thanks.
  14. Anybody have an idea the best place to tap into this? I decided to break down and buy a reverse camera. I would rather have the auto feature that when you shift into reverse the camera comes on. Thanks.
  15. Run a switch from the Playstation that will allow you move the signal to just the rear screens and maintain full use up front of the head unit. The other option is just bypass the Playstation up front all together.
  16. I had the same problem. Just keep on him. He has a ton of PMs. He really is a good guy. once paid, you'll have it in a few days.

  18. Them I am assuming that changing out the AV harness should be the cure. The RCA cables leading from the amp are brand new. Like I said it's grounding the AV harness cables that help.
  19. I got a D1 that started making a high pitch noise, similar to engine noise. I have pulled everything out and redone everything from scratch. Moved the grounds. Redid all the speaker connections and everything. I was about to give up when I noticed as I was sliding the unit back into place that if the Front Output of the AV cables were bent in such a way, everything was fine. Is it possible for the AV harness to go bad? Or could there be something else?
  20. SCAM I bet people STILL fall for this. I was waiting to see something about Nigeria in there!
  21. ABSOLUTLEY FRIGGIN WONDERFUL!! THANKS!! Came today! Works like a charm.
  22. Could be. If you want to try something screwy, worked for one of my old headunits, take a 2 inch piece of speaker wire. Strip half and wrap around one of the RCAs for the sub or speaker. You may just have a bad ground somewhere, but this little trick works.
  23. I've sent a couple of PM's. I'd like to get the East disc if possible. EDIT Thanks for the PM. Payment has been sent.
  24. Make sure you have a good ground. With the Altima there's no ground in the factory harness. You need to take the black ground wire directly from the harness of the D1 and ground it. I have the same model year car and I have found that this cures most engine noise.
  25. Yes it is possible. You need the CD-UB100. It attached via the IP Bus. You can control the drive from the head unit. You need to have a drive that is less that 250gb and needs to be in FAT32.
