Z2 Please help Asking for someone creative to make a Audi BG
kerrys914 replied to SHOOTER's topic in Custom Backgrounds
Will the "right click" and save work on these or do I need the file emailed to me to get the correct resolution? any more AUDI backgrounds out there? Cheers -
Anyone seen or used the new disc's yet?

They are to only charge you $70'ish if they only looked at the unit. If they worked on it then they charge you $200 +. If they didn't fix it then they SHOULD take it back and fix it again for free (well just shipping charges). I found that the OH office was nicer to deal with the CA. Cheers

No you will not get a new unit, as they will say you hooked it up wrong and caused the issue and it's an old device (2 levels old) I am quite sure this time they will tell you it will cost $250 minimum to fix the problem with the trans-diode relay chip. If you want us to fix it you must pay us in advance. Most people will run way with the chance of $250+ to fix a AVIC D1.. Are they charging you $70 per visit now? I had my D1 looked at for $70 in the Ohio facility, came back working fine. Cheers and best of luck

That's incorrect There are at least two confirmed cases that after "unlocking" the unit the display face worked again. Maybe we are talking about two different things but the post I made fixed mine and another guys D1 My D1 face would not open..pressed the buttons "unlocked" it and it worked. Cheers

Do a search I have posted before about the fix. There is no need to send it to Pioneer until you have done the self help check. There is a mode that locks out the screen to protect the installed disc. A few presses of some buttons ain the correct order will unlock the screen.

Need some help with a pre-owned Avic D2 Please!

Yellow wire has a noise filter on it. I tried to run mine without it and it SUCKED. Lots of whine and no cheese for me. Dropped the $45 on a new harness and the noise is gone and everything works fine. Used the old harness for bypass parts -
Press and hold the AV and INFO buttons at the same time AS you reset the unit. I am 99% sure that is how you unlock it, worked on mine this past weekend

how high should the speed pulse signal go?
kerrys914 replied to bryancx94's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
On an '02 Audi it looks like reading is 1/100 motor RPM. -
I have an 2002 A4 B6 and if they are the same I can help you out. - ACC 12+ needs to come from the fuse panel, nothing behind the Bose for that. - Ill. needs to come from behind the light switch - VSS is bl/whte wire located in the green connector behind the cluster (just about behind fuel gauge). Best of luck
-
on my A4 I choose not to use the OEM wire behind the radio for the lights.. I ran a wire to the light switch and it works fine. It's real easy to route the wire to the light switch from the AVIC. Cheers and best of luck

Need to know where VSS wire is on Audi A4

Here ya go. It is a good site for audi nav units but you can pull parts out for the aftermarket HU's. I just installed mine yesterday in my 2002 and it worked GREAT.. http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/a4b6.html -
I 'll look again but I am 99% sure they are BOTH solid black and next to each other in the connector.

Thanks. I was looking for wire color and it's location in the connector. I have two black wires (ground) which is weird. Not sure why Pioneer would need two seperate grounds?? I have these wires soldered together with the parking brake wire and the "by-pass" wire. The installation book only indicates one black wire (ground) I just want to make sure I have all the wires in the Correct locations. Thanks guys

Pioneer has it now. It should be on it's way back to me this week I think is was about $100. The harness I have is missing the speaker wires and the black box connected to the yellow (+) wire. I just want to make sure I have an okay power cord. I don't need the speaker wires as I am using the Preamps. I am hoping on not having to spend $49 for a new power cord. The seller is still being an A$$ and I am sure Paypal will come through for me.... Atleast the money I seny him is frozen by Paypal. Cheers

Can someone post the wire colors and the associated connector location for each of the wires? I want to make sure things are okay with my connector. Cheers

Anyone have an updated time frame on the release date for the NEW 70 series maps. Cheers

There is another Pioneer service office in OH. I sent mine in last week. They are looking at it now and I should know the cost/problem by Wed of next week. Maybe the OH office is less busy then the CA Cheers
