  1. There are no security features. There is a drivers view for the map but it's not really 3D.
  2. The only thing that's going to deter thieves is to cover up that big ol' LCD screen with something. I saw a pic posted on here of a car that had a built in lid that covered the radio. Pretty slick.
  3. Thanks scrupul0us. There shouldn't be much (if any) paint back there. But if there is, scrape it off! You want full metal on metal contact.
  4. whtcrxghst is right. When it rings, the iPod mutes and the incoming call screen comes up until you answer it or the call disconnects. Then the music unpauses and unmutes. I'd check your bluetooth module... Maybe it needs to be reset or something?
  5. Place the order, then call a crutchfield rep and ask them to apply the code. The "special code" is only for the 15% off code. Once you place the order, call them up and give them my code and they'll give you another $20 off. OR, you can just call Crutchfield and give them all the info and let them put it all in (that's what I did). Never hurts to speak to someone.
  6. If there is a ground wire on your harness, you could use that just fine. You could also find something metal to screw the ground spade connector to.
  7. If you need a code: pe7ar-538s2-w5387 And if you need help with the bypass, check my flash gallery below
  8. bobmun is right. The bypass still works. Funny how that works. You would think that the 3D accelerator thing would stop the video... or maybe even movement picked up by the GPS! They "wanted" us to be able to bypass it.
  9. That's the key! Glad you found a program to remove DMA. Don't you just hate it when the man tries to hold you down? lol You should still look at Tunebite. It can convert 4 songs at once at up to 4x the speed. Works like a champ. The platinum version also handles video. Very nice when you need to move some protected video to the iPod for the bypass!
  10. I don't think static during the voice nav is a software issue unless it's recorded that way. Does it only happen during voice nav? In other words, do any of your mid to high range music or radio have static?
  11. That's the deal, sort of. The code only applies to a pioneer head unit when you order three accessories over $50 each. I ordered the bluetooth module and some speakers. They counted the camera as the third I think. I also bought the iPod cable (but it's not $50).
  12. For the iPod video problem: On the iPod, enable the "TV out" setting. That will enable the video out via dock connector. I doubt it's the charging setting but who knows.
  13. You'll have to order it. You could also check Froogle but some of those sellers aren't that great (use the ratings). I love mine. Can't beat the auto-connect and how it mutes the music when a call comes in.
  14. It uses the illumination wire for positive connections and dimmer for negative connections. The installer should have found that wire and connected it properly. Once you do that, the D3 automatically goes into night mode once the lights are on.
  15. The range you listed sounds about right. All of our radio stations have the tenths decimal spot. For example, I programmed 96.1 and 99.7 as presets. The only thing you may have problems with is some possible incompatibilites in signal type.. But I'm no expert.
  16. As I understand it yes. Everything work perfectly without it hooked up.
  17. If you are looking for basic functions, an older pioneer remote may work. When I upgraded from a DEH-8600MP to the D3, I noticed that my old remote would skip songs back and forth. I haven't tested much beyond that but it does show that it's somewhat backwards compatible. I'll test more with my remote and let you know how well it works. However, that remote "Maxima SE" posted from pioneer's website will be best since it has A/V functions.
  18. Look at my pics in my flash gallery below.
  19. That's the safest way to go.

    d3 problem

Check the manual regarding demo mode. Turn it off.
  21. 1. Yes, but you'll need a dual layer burner 2. Make an ISO of the discs (UltraISO, Alcohol, whatever) 3. Burn copies.
  22. Maybe you've got a battery/alternator problem?
  23. Nice install. I like the lift you have on that blazer.
