  1. No worries, thanks for the clarification. It's tough to say without actually being there, but if I had to guess, I would say something is connected or configured wrong with your adapter. Give Metra tech support a call, or do a search online, I'm sure it's been covered somewhere else, and if everything is hooked up correctly, you can't be the only one experiencing that problem.
  2. Okay, then you can respectfully and completely be wrong. Look, I'm not trying to be an ass, but that's just not the case. If you don't do the bypass, you can't view video in motion, regardless of what you do with the parking brake. If you do the bypass, you can watch video in motion (and access all of the other menus), but you'll get that warning unless you either: a. Connect the parking brake lead properly to your car's parking brake circuit and engage the brake. b. Simply ground the parking brake lead (which performs the same function as a, but without having to actually engage the b
  3. If you notice, it works on outgoing calls, because the call originates from within the F-Series, so it can link the name to the number. It's the incoming calls that are screwed up, something is off on the format of the numbers, so it can't link the incoming number to a contact in the database.
  4. You've got all four RCAs plugged in, but then what? Are they going to a four channel amp, to the factory amp? How is the wiring from the amp to the speakers done?
  5. Chalk it up to another limitation of the F-Series.
  6. Are you sure they installed the HD and satellite modules? If they did, they're not connected correctly because your F-Series doesn't know about them.
  7. Did you also ground the parking brake lead? That must be done, even if the hardware bypass is performed.
  8. Yep, basically what it comes down to is that any A/V cable that also charges the iPod will work fine.
  9. No problem, there's a huge difference between offering information in a valuable post even if it's already been discussed, and ASKING for information that has already been discussed. I agree, the search feature of this forum software struggles, but hopefully the FAQ can fill in the gaps.
  10. Sounds more like the bypass "aka mute" wire isn't properly grounded. No it doesn't, if that was the case he wouldn't be able to watch video at all. Since the OP specified that he can watch video, but has to dismiss the parking brake screen, that means that the bypass was completed successfully, but the parking brake wire was not grounded.
  11. Drh2929, I'm locking this post down. Read the FAQ (linked in my sig) and do a search to answer your questions. If AFTER that you still are unclear on things, then go ahead and start a new thread.
  12. Disconnect the mute wire in the harness and cap it so that it can be grounded.
  13. This topic has been covered dozens of times here, and is included in the FAQ. Congrats on the upgrade!
  14. Delete both devices from one another (F Series from phone, and phone from F-Series) and pair them again. That fixed that problem for a number of people. If that doesn't work, make sure your phone has the latest firmware version. If neither of those work, send it back for warranty.
  15. That isn't an option because it would render the navigation useless. Imagine you were traveling south, but the unit was rendering the 3D view locked in North "up" (which would really mean the view would be looking north). The view would be of what was behind you, and you wouldn't be able to see anything coming up! Definitely not very functional when it comes to navigation. Hopefully that helps answer your question, let me know if you meant something else.
  16. The appropriate adapter should retain accessory power until the door is opened. Do you know if the installer used an adapter from PAC or Connects?
  17. Yep, the parking brake wire isn't correctly grounded.
  18. What vehicle is it installed in? Who did the install?
  19. Send it in for warranty.
  20. Resource limitations of the F-Series combined with too many requests.
  21. I'm dealing with the same issue. At this point I just want to be done with this thing and switch to something that works as advertised. I'm not sure what the best way to accomplish that is, but at some point after enough back-and-forth, Pioneer has to acknowledge that something is wrong with their product.
  22. Happens with mine too, usually when the system is finishing loading and I ask it to do too many things at one time (like change to the map screen). It's a bug with the hardware/software, and the only fix I've found is to reboot.
