No. As long as it supplies a steady 12-14 vdc at least a few amps, it should be fine. (I have heard of folks converting old PC ATX power supplies to cheap 1 amp 12vdc supplies - This might work if you are not driving any speakers via the audio amp (where I suspect most of the power is consumed on these units.) No offense but I get tons of PMs from folks who did not really research or read the threads completely, usually asking me about things which have already been covered in the thread. So I delete alot of pm's without response. Read back through this entire thread, and look at the EU version in the F series hacks/mods. Basically, you need to kick your unit out of upgrade mode and try again, but with redownloaded, reunzipped/etc, and reformmated sd card. Several folks have been having problems with corrupt downloads, funky unzipping programs (example: that dont unzip empty folders?!), or bad

Iphone 4s should work fine with ios 6.x and "advanced appmode" on 2012 software. My iphone 4 worked just fine - so you might want to look into upgrading to latest 2012 map/software (aka z140 software), as this has some newer features and compatibility fixes. The big problem is iphone 5 due to different connector. Just wont work for advanced appmode because it requires analog video to work. Only audio-only functions like pandora/aha and ipod work.

there was another similar topic in the 2012 EU updated thread. Some extra TTS languagues are provided on a dvd which may be part of the full legitimate update (but not included in the update that is provdided in the thread). The procedure seemed to be putting extra language files on a certain folder in SD card, inserting, and the unit would allow you to import them. Ralph, Warning: this is uncharted territory. You can probably get this to install, but I dont know how it's going to behave reinstalling 4.01 software over the top of an existing 4.0 install. same antenna lead is used for FM and AM on the unit. Many new cars have a built-in FM antenna signal amplifier in-line, and is only powered when radio is on. It could be something loose or dying in your car wiring/circuitry. You will need to check with dealer, installer, or dive into your car's service manual/schematics. It could be the am section of the internal tuner dying also - this can be ruled out by connecting an aftermarket passive single am/fm antenna (or even a coat hanger!) to the unit antenna jack for isolation testing.

Not sure what you did here. F930 does not use the uscan update. It uses the euro version of this update. Read over the thread and find the procedure to kick the unit out of upgrade mode and try again with proper update. Make sure to redoenload, reunpack, and reformat sd before retry.

I have not taken apart two side by side, but I will tell you from firsthand experience that CXE2176 works just fine on x920bt, z110bt, and x930bt (and basically all z110+ and x920+ having 2011+ software). I'm pretty sure CXE2176 is the oem part number (for example, for the tuner included w/ z130bt) - and ND-TMC10 is the "retail" partnumber for buying separately. Anyone who has any experience with Pioneer's "part numbering scheme" knows that they make no freaking sense whatsoever. if you want to be able to access the file manager in testmode (aka file maintenance menu, to copy/replace files) - then you just need the "super" testmode.key on an sd card. I dont know what mitacap folder is or does, but not needed for testmode on f9310bt.

when you are int he traffic menu, you can select traffic providers (and after your radio has been on for a few minutes) you should see one or more FM frequencies to choose from in the list. If it says no traffic providers, then you are either not in coverage, or dont have a traffic tuner connected to the back. If you bought a Z110 when it came out, and have not since installed a TMC traffic tuner, then you probably dont have one.
