  1. What phone do you have? Make sure BT is running on the phone and make sure the phone is set to discoverable, usually defaults to discoverable for a minute or so. Then turn the radio on and go to the BT Settings menu. From there you will need to pair the HU and phone. Did you read the manual?
  2. On the audio side there is not much to be compatible with.. you have a left/right and common on the above ref'd pins. That is exactly what you bought when you bought the RB10. Have you called Pioneer support? I have used them for IPBus support and they gave me the info I needed. You may have a bad HU. The IPBus audio input needs to see at or below 1v to be able to internally recognize a signal on that input, that could be your problem.
  3. First, the fact your remote turn on wire is not functioning is where I would have returned the HU for one that does work. But as I said, with the lack of a remote turn on wire I would simply try the acc 12v as it is delayed for engine starting etc. Depending on your bypass mod it should work since the delay and pulse is the responsibility of the bypass itself. The other option is a PAC TR7 that is programmable, but that is $30 and more work that you may not need. What did you use to "look" at the voltage on the B/W remote turn on wire. That only sees about 300mA so if your meter was n
  4. I just reread your post and rewrote my answer. first try to pull the 12v power off your cars 12v acc signal. That is "on" when the cars ignition is on just as the HU is. My bypass is on a relay that also powers other things. that would be overkill for this application
  5. What API's? I'm interested since I just installed an AVH 8400 and started looking into AppRadio2. Previously I had never looked into aftermarket HU's like these so I am just getting a look at AppRadio in general. I am a developer behind several Android apps and work as a consultant / developer. What have you found so far? I have just started looking and will start digging around on some forums. I have some time to get started and access to a couple Java programmers through the summer until SDSU starts back up. This will be a secondary effort since I have kids in college and need to be paid
  6. When you're on the Home display what is enabled when your iPod is plugged in? On the IP-Bus you want pins 7, 9 and 10, those are the left and right audio and ground. You should see one of the aux inputs enabled on your home display when you have a signal on that input. It doesn't or shouldn't matter the model number, IP-Bus is a Pioneer thing.
  7. The phone is Bluetooth not AppRadio enabled. AppRadio is designed to allow you to use the apps on your phone through the HU, unfortunately the phone app is only bluetooth. Sounds like you should do a little more reading on AppRadio and iPhone. The Apps on your phone that you want to use via AppRadio have to be AppRadio enabled. Look here, AppRadio .. You will find more info on enabled apps and how it works. This site is for the actual AppRadio HU, but the app list and other information applies to the 8400 What steering wheel controls do you have? Need that info to help you there.
  8. I have been told it sounds like there's a little noise in the background. Have a friend trade phones and call each other with your friend in your vehicle.
  9. For most of the screen issues I have read or heard about, they seem related to the steering wheel controls. For Ford vehicles and Pioneer HU I went through two SW control products, Axxess ASWC and PAC SWI-PS. I ended up using PAC in my Ford Excursion and I have had no issues with anything once I had it installed and programmed correctly. I know it's a PITA, but I would pull the SW controls if my HU was not working correctly just to know.
  10. You would not need a special cable for Android since they use usb micro cables. A bigger issue is the lack of an App Mode for Android. With an Android phone you can Stream audio using bluetooth and use all the phone controls. Actually the phone works great.
  11. I agree. One thing I would like to figure out.. How to remove the words "No Data Provided" from BT audio streaming and the graphic box for the radio, where an album cover might appear. Otherwise it is a clean interface and everything seems to work. As for nav, I think the Google nav on Android or even iPhone is by far better than the nav on audio HU's. How do we get this one the 8400
  12. I bought the 2400 on a Friday and Friday night I did some research.. on Sat morning I went back and ended up buying the 8400, I think it's worth the expense if possible. Bluetooth works great with an HTC evo 3d, both streaming music and phone. As for the hack, I am sure it is possible as there would be a bluetooth radio on both models but enabled in the software in the BT series. You would be the man if you were to figure that one out. I have thought about the overall OS and I would bet it is Linux based and uses a standard file system, processor and memory. It basically handles all these
  13. I've had AVH 8400 about 3 weeks and it has been error free. However, the remote steering wheel controls did give me a lot of funky behavior when I first tried to wire them in. I would pull the controls and run the unit for a couple days to rule the controls out. I would want to know if the unit itself was buggy in order to get that replaced.
