before everyone blames the cable. How about the ipod dock connector. Broken, dirty, corroded pins? i will have to go find a schematic of the dock connector and see which caries left and right channels, but i would bet its the ipod over the cable. Cables are just to simple to just fail like that. If it is the cable then like the OP said its a chance of occurrence. Everything is made in china, big deal. ditto. In my 03 tahoe it is under the dash which is just plastic. Works perfect always full strength and good accuracy.

What exactly does that mean? There have been 6 generations of ipods. 5th and 6th gen ipods are the only that play video (plus the 3rd gen nano), and 5th gen ipods are the only ones with full capability on the D3. If you dont know which you have refer here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod

Excellent point. On top of that unless the cop is MECP cert. or an expert on car audio they probably wont even notice that its after market. If you got a movie goin turn it off before the cop walks up to your car, and they wont say a word.

Ick. I cant stress enough how much better the PAC OS-2 (Bose) or Peripheral (GMAH-24 ( is than the metra (there the same thing different name). I have lots of experience with both (Metra and PAC/Periph) and i am 100% satisfied with PAC/Periheral. These harnesses do not have VSS or reverse in them but these wires can be easily found. thanks for replying the face talking button did engage the onstar phone option only, not the onstar service. when i had my stock unit it muted the stereo, and i was able to dictate commands to my onstar system phone system such as phone numbers to dial, stocks,etc..... i saw the pioneer steering wheel remote cd-sr1 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... ies/CD-SR1) and it has bluetooth answer/ hang up buttons along with others. i know it says its for the z1 and z2 but can it be used with the d3? if so, wont i be able to program buttons on my steering wheel to work as I

Does the face talking button engage on-star or not. if so if you used that button it would enable on-star and do a radio function at the same time As for answering a phone call. The D3 is only capable of around 9 remote functions and answering calls isn't one of them. you can set the D3 to auto answer every call though

You need to go to av settings menu and re-enable av-1 or av-2 depending on which one you want (or both). You will also need to set your illumination color, backgrounds and a few other things.

It says that the image on the screen may appear reversed. Its annoying but i don't think there's a way to remove it. Some one may know more though.

No prob. For future reference thats the screen for playing videos. If you want to play a video then press video in the top right of the music screen (which you probably did by accident) and then use your ipod to pick a video. To switch back to music use the above method. Enjoy the AVIC!

If it's AWD, you may be askin too much. I know I can't find a AW Dyno without at least hopping a couple of state lines... They're pretty rare to come by. Are you talking 460 at wheels or at crank. If at wheels, holy shit what kind of bolt ons? A stock SS TB runs what 330hp at the wheels depending on AWD 2WD maybe a few HP difference? thats over 100 hp from bolt ons? What kind of mods do you have? EDIT: Never Mind just saw you said crank. Once you see this message press anywhere on the screen. You will see "video" controls (play/pause, forward back) as well as a Music Button (i think it says music, it may say ipod control or something) just press that button. it will return to your normal operation.

i think this might be the 10 millionth thread on the new ipods. since searching isnt an option for anyone, one of the mods should sticky one of the good threads and get rid of most of the other ones. this is getting a bit ridiculous now.

i am obviously in the same boat. I use a metra adapter. The PAC and peripheral are identical harnesses because there the same company so that probably didnt help your case much. it is an issue no matter what harness you use. im gunna play around with it this weekend and see if i can solve the problem. if anyone know a solution let us know

hmmm, yeah its video Ipod 5.5 I think. If it has the search setting then it is a 5.5 right? Still can't find the TV OUT but I am not giving up yet, lol. its right under video settings in the video menu

Indeed, the tele atlas maps for a 6 inch screen will be way bigger than a portable device, and have many more feature as you mentioned.

it is my understanding that each map disk is a dual layer dvd. Dual layer dvd's are the highest capacity dvd's made/available. So what you are trying to do is take ~~17GB of data and fit it onto a single 8.7GB disk? Not possible.
