  1. Hyperite, I know where u'r heading w/ this.
  2. It can take up to 50 miles for the unit to initialize, then you will get all the features.
  3. Reset the unit. If the warning mesg comes back then the by-pass is not correct.
  4. Was the AVIC used? If so, you may need to reset the unit so it will learn the VSS in your car.
  5. No, can only rip the music from a music CD.
  6. I think CC sales Metra kits. I know the Best Kits #BKFMK522 will work, but I don't know if Metra makes a DD kit for the 03.
  7. You could try the Ipod by-pass so that you can use the controls on the face of the Ipod while it is connected to the AVIC. The link below will show you how. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1006
  8. To do all of that for $180, they either made good profit on the equipment or cut some major corners. If the equipment was less than retail I would worry about the install. What type of vehicle?
  9. Using the Pioneer camera? On the Pioneer cams you can remove the pins from the plug. You should write down some notes on the wire locations for when it's time to reconnect them. You should be able to see the locking tangs of each pin though the plug. Use a very small jewelers flat head screw driver to release each pin.
  10. That looks right. Now you have room to tuck all the harnesses under the metal support. If you are installing XM, the tuner will fit on top of the on-star module(the silver box in the lower of the opening) and under the plastic.
  11. I've done all of the above. Depends on the camera's cable and plug.
  12. Press "Map" to pull up the map screen. Then press "Map" again to pull up the map views. Select "rear view" mode.
  13. Speed Sense, PURPLE (AC) ECU MODULE TO THE RIGHT OF GLOVE BOX PIN 14 OF A 26 PIN PLUG Reverse Lights, RED (+) ECU PIN 13
  14. Shotgun_customs, Judging from the name of your picture this is in a Sierra. What model Pioneer is that in the picture or more importantly what is the depth of the unit? My major concern is depth for this application. The AVIC-Z2 is 6-1/2" deep and the clearance I believe in the GMT-900 vehicles (Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon, Avalance, etc) is I believe 6-5/8" deep. Then there is the concern of additional depth needed for the cables and still be able to mount flush. Thanks, Chad That unit is the AVIC-D2. Depth isn't that big of a concern b/c we cut out the sub-dash of all our inst
  15. Depending on the bose/on-star interface you are using the mute wire may be needed. The peripheral unit will mute the radio(requiring the mute wire) or turn the radio off(mute wire not needed) when ever the on-star phone is used. You can wire it up either way. I always use the mute radio method b/c the AVIC's are slow to boot up. I use a pin out of an older rca plug to perform the by-pass b/c I'm using the mute wire for radio muting. I think the steering wheel button will work even if you're not using the PESWIPS.
  16. Your changer will not connect to the AVIC.
  17. Which other pin? You have to do the "two wire by-pass". Read the first post on this tread. Here's a link to the directions on how to do this, look at the 07/06 by-pass. http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass Did you load the ISO?
  18. Is there a way to do this on the 2007 Saturn Outlook using the factory station changers, up/down volume and mute buttons? Thanks, Tony Yes
  19. This looks exactly like my 2007 Saturn Outlook (GMC Acadia). Does this steering wheel control interface with the factory buttons? Thanks Tony Yes
  20. It's under the metal support, directly under the bucket. You can access the plugs to the amp by removing the rear of the console. FYI-- Be mindfull of the connector that plugs into the gear shifter under the cupholder. This plug/harness will restrict the movement of the console rearward when tring to remove the radio bezel. One of the pins in this plug is the "in gear" notification wire. If this wire is broken, you can not remove the key from the cylinder. I have repaired this problem many times for other shops that had no idea what they had done.
  21. The PAC and Peripheral steering wheel controls are the same. Yes, you can program the interface for all of those options.
  22. Best Kit - BKGMK317, fits the AVIC's the best Peripheral - GMAHLANB, w/ Bose GMAHLAN, w/o Bose PESWIPS, steering wheel controls
  23. It sounds like the other pin is not grounded. Check to make sure that the pin has not backed out of the connector.
  24. That looks like a pic of the pass kick panel. The PCM is on the pass firewall under the hood. What is your multimeter readings when you test that wire?
