  1. I was messing around with that, but didn't notice any difference. Does it only work with the illumination hooked up?
  2. You're welcome, glad everything worked out
  3. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CXC4864
  4. So whenever the screen is dimmed the background changes to dark gray, even if you have a custom background? Or do you mean the nav screen changes to night mode?
  5. Speed Senseis the green/yellowwire at the ECM, 20 pin plug, pin 10 The ECM (Engine Control Module) is below the glove box. The VSS wire is also found behind the instrument cluster in the middle plug. On the turbo models, the vss wire is in the 35 pin plug, pin 27. You can test it with a multimeter, and if the frequency changes when you move, you have the right wire.
  6. Haha I forgot about that thing. In case you don't know what he means...click HERE
  7. Doesn't the TomTom use Teleatlas? The same the Pioneer units use?
  8. Nope thats how it works. You have to use your ipod to select the videos.
  9. Yep, Reverse Light is the blue wire at the fuse box, red 16 pin plug, pin 4
  10. Speed Sense is the brown wire at the data link connector, pin 6. The data link connector is under the driver side dash. Also found at the BCM, 16 pin plug, pin 6. The BCM (Body Control Module) is under the driver side dash, behind the fuse box. Thats for the 07, the 06 doesn't give the BCM option.
  11. Which cable? The RCA cable? It sounds like the turn on signal you used was the power antenna...but I don't understand which cable you're talking about there.
  12. Cant you do that by just turning off "voice guidance" but keeping the volume of it up?
  13. Thanks, just to be sure I"ll check the frequency tomorrow
  14. Directwire says green wire at the ECM, and there are about 5. Tested all of them and the only one that seems to have a chance of being right gives me about .5 volts when stopped, and just over 13 volts when moving. Theres almost no transition. Is that the right wire? Its the first time I'm wiring into a speed sensor so I'm not sure. It just seems like voltage should increase with speed. Thanks in advance...
  15. I don't know if you're joking or not, but in case you're serious... Are you talking about the second slot on the bottom? If so just hold down the eject button. Don't let go after it gets to your normal CD slot, keep holding it and it will open up to the 'hidden' one as well...
  16. Reverse Light is the green/black at the fuse box, 14 pin plug, pin 9
  17. I was thinking about doing a full console and doing that, but it would take too long for me. I've had the D3 sitting in my room for about 3 weeks now and I want it in haha. Later on I might get a small amp and put a set of components in there tho.
  18. Thanks guys, I'll definitely keep updating. And coocho - Yeah it was just open before
  19. I started this project a few weeks ago, but last night I made something out of wood. I figured I might as well post progress on here just in case anyone else with a full size Chevy might want to do something along these lines. Eventually it will be wrapped in the vinyl that you can see in the third picture (its the closest match I could find). The wood one is different from the cardboard one because the mounting angle was too steep the first time.

    D3 TV Tuner?

I just searched for 'tv tuner' in the 'General' section for the D1/2/3 and threads 5, 18 and 19 of the search seem to answer your question. In case you can't handle it: Any way to hook up a tv tuner to an Aux input? D3 question tv tuner for avic-d3 TV Tuner
  21. Test it with a multimeter. If thats it, the voltage will fluctuate as your car moves.
  22. He used a DL for the NAV discs. He used a single layer to back up his DVD movies. Unless you want to pick apart the disc image and remove POIs you need to use a Dual Layer disc.
  23. FORD, F SERIES SUPER DUTY, 2000 VSS - gray/black wire, at PCM. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is located on the driver side of the firewall under the hood. Reverse - black/pink wire at relay box under hood
  24. You do it through iTunes, but instead of changing all of the information in your 'Library', click on your iPod on the left hand side of the screen. You should then see all of the music that is on your iPod only, and you can change it from there. I've never used it, so I don't know if it would change everything back, but I would make sure you have 'Auto-sync' off just to be safe.
