  1. The DA100 mic is phenomenal for me. I'm very happy with its performance. I think the amazing performance is radio side though. Parrot handles the telephone sound processing on that unit and they make the best in the business. If it's the same connector I would try the old mic out first to see how that works. If the GPS worked where it was before then that should be fine with the new unit.
  2. I like the change personally, and if you don't want the app display you will need to uninstall the AppRadio app.
  3. Tip for that if you can manage it. Sunny day doors closed. Run the heat for a little while, (maybe after giving the old radio its goodbye drive), and then go through the install letting the sun take care of warmth.
  4. Stick shift after my own heart. That is one very classy setup. Hopefully you can tweak the look to make you happy. You obviously have put a lot of love into your car.
  5. It should, however, the boot up time would be both incredibly annoying, and it would be most likely unreliable. Also you would be throwing in another area of lag on top of artifacting issues. However, yes this should work. The AppRadio has no clue what phone or device is connected to the HDMI port, only that something is connected. The controls go through bluetooth and that's how the device manipulates what's on screen. Again though, you're looking at more lag, data connection issues, increased time for the router to boot on a cold start, and then for the iPhone to pair to it, and then you hav
  6. I used to a slightly different version of the proclip iPhone 4S case. It works fine with the appradio.
  7. A fewquestions. Are you using the pioneer USB port that comes with the radio? Have you used the radio with the older iPhone before the 5? Did you experience any issues with that setup?
  8. Haha I would suggest a good car dock to make it easy. I had a take off a little excess material but my proclip dock worked great. The biggest advantage I see is that since the phone powers things regardless, this setup always makes sure your battery stays topped off as it mans your radio.
  9. Here are two videos that hopefully give you what you're looking for. AppRadio mode with the iPhone 5 including boot and pairing time. http://youtu.be/WS7Oldze0DQ Mirroring mode. http://youtu.be/zQwgEFjVrII Enjoy.
  10. I tried this. The problem with it is that it provides no support when you turn, so your phone goes left and right in a very scary fashion. DIdn't fall off for me, buuuut that's because I didn't let it. I go proclip for my in car iPhone docks. They aren't cheap, but they are worth the money.
  11. Waze Carmediaplayer Dash Command Extra Mile I really hope Pioneer can get Spotify on board. That would more or less make things perfect. Pioneer's pandora overlay is nice but I never use pandora anymore.
  12. Welcome the community. 1. I would not have bought NavGate. Waze is the app I love. It does all that and it's completely free. Where I live their maps are spot on. Don't know about the UK. As far as your app not working, not all apps are compatible with iOS 6 yet. The fixes are coming but it's taking a little time. Check the pioneer website for your app and see if it is on the iOS 6 compatibility list. IMO see if you can get that refunded. 2. Yes the other preout can be used as a rear speaker. I'm not in front of my head unit but I believe what you do is go to the sound setting you tur
  13. Sure. I am going on a trip till sunday and won't be with the car, but when I return I will make a youtube video with my iPad mini of the whole setup, iPhone 5, AppRadio apps and all. I will run it straight from boot, show off some of the apps and mirroring so you can judge for yourself the quality. to answer some of your questions in the mean time. Mirroring doesn't take up the whole screen. This is the iPhone's fault. Pioneer does not set their radio screen to overscan but the iPhone displays with overscan in mind so the mirrored screen is slightly smaller than the whole display and
  14. Are you using an appradio 1 or 2? The 1 only support iPhone 4 and up. The appradio 2 has full iPod support pre lightning. This is important because your Bluetooth dongle will register as a regular iPod. On the 2 you should be fine. On the 1 I tried it once with a similar adaptor and it worked intermittently. I lost that connector and I upgraded my radio to support the 5, so I haven't tested it to confirm my theory.
  15. Oh also, if you want true full on control, what I plan on doing in the near future is getting an android 4.0+ device that works with the AppRadio, installing ARLiberator, permanently hiding the android device and turning the AppRadio into one big mobile Android box. That will give me full control of every Android app around, which most of them already work in landscape, and I get access to more applications than the AppRadio was ever going to have.
  16. Daily AppRadio 2 user with an iPhone 5 so perfect candidate for you. The 5 integration is actually fantastic. The only things you have to buy for it is an HDMI Cable the Lightning AV adaptor and a spare lightning cable. You plug the phone into the USB port the original iPhone adaptor uses and plug the HDMI into the lighting AV cable. The only qualm I have is that it takes a little while for bluetooth to fully pair in the way that the AppRadio can control the 5 (about as long as it took the original AppRadio to finish booting). Great way to make that less painless though is to just preopen the
  17. I already have an android phone with an HDMI port handy. It isn't one of the AppRadio 2 supported phones technically but I will give it a try because if it works it won't cost me any extra money. I will post an update after I test it.
  18. ^ this. When iOS 6 came the maps app was utterly gutted. Mind you I never used it, but for some reason pioneer decided to make it useless. I thought maybe apple changed the rules on what you can and cannot do with their maps API, but extra mile and inrix both use apple maps and have far more functionality. Also the contacts app seems to be gone. Why? I don't know but I miss it.
  19. It isn't surprising that Pioneer is moving on from the pure AppRadio. To be frank they were both test units to gauge interest and to prototype new ideas. Now that they are adding AppRadio functionality to their higher end radios these super inexpensive Pure AppRadios are on their way out. Real shame too. I hate all their other radios. Bunch of Fisher Price graphics and unnecessary bedazzling of their intererfaces filled with features I don't care about. Both AppRadios are so clean and well designed interface wise. I'm glad that at least my AppRadio 2 is more or less glitch free and running gre
  20. If you have a 4s or a 5 you can actually use siri to input your directions. Simply say "take me to (insert address or contact) via Transit" and siri will launch a screen with all your alternative nav apps that you have installed. Click on waze and your iPhone will send the directions to waze directly.
  21. Welcome to AppRadio! First the sluggishness is due in part to the way the 5 connects to the Radio. It uses bluetooth for control and bluetooth has a slight lag to it. They have done a tremendous job, but that lag is just part of the game. The Pandora app you see is actually a built in application just like the radio app. Unlike all the other applications that you run from your phone that completely control the radio, turning it into a glorified touch screen with an amplifier, the Pandora application simply sources the raw data from the iPhone, and then displays said data on screen. The ad
  22. Glad you enjoy the new unit! It is a fantastic radio. Did you have any questions for us?
  23. Pandora on the AppRadio is a built in application. Everything you see on the display is run by the AppRadio completely with stuff like the album art, artist, and track names being read from the phone and then printed on the screen by the built in app. That is why pandora looks and acts differently on the AppRadio 1 vs the 2 and why the apps never get any of the new features that Pandora launches with each of their updates. So how does it work and how has the change to lightning affected it? The lightning to 30 pin transfers data and the audio but does not transfer video. This does not work
  24. The reason for this is that Pandora is not an app that is actually displayed via the iPhone. It is a built-in app in the pioneer radio. Honestly it is the worst way to do the application, the better way would be the same way The other applications run on the radio.
