  1. Congrats on the opening! I know firsthand what an experiance it can be!
  2. It is possible, but not likely. If it has three plugs (besides the antenna) then it may. It would be a more squarish plug between the power/speaker harness and the subwoofer harness. Also, the dash may look like a tight fit top to bottom, but the D3 will fit right in. It looks great in the dash of my 2001 Mustang Bullitt, so I am probably biased.
  3. VSS- Dark green/Black at the ECM. The ECM is located below the heater box to the right of the accelerator pedal, behind trim panel. The VSS is in the 2nd row from the top, 4th pin right of center. You won't need the brake wire if you do the two wire bypass. You can find instructions on this at http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass As for removing the unit anytime you take it in for warranty, I would not only suggest against this, as you would need to reset all of you memory settings (this can be a REAL pain in the you know what), but it is illeagal for any warranty to be v
  4. I think you have the correct disc set. Your problem may be a settings issue or an install problem. Here's how to know. Hit the Menu button on the left of the unit. Make sure you are on the Navi screen and press SETTINGS. Press VOLUME. You should see voice volume (several levels available) and beep volume (sadly, only 4 levels.) Adjust the volume levels to your likeing for each. If the volume levels look good there, you may have an install issue. Swap the front and rear outputs from the radio and see if it corrects the problem. Hope this helps.
  5. Give it 12 months, and that tuner will be obsolete and non-working, as all analog TV signals will be turned off forever. I think Pioneer was aware of this happening, and has stopped production of the tuner, and removed the protocalls from the the IP bus control chips. Yes, you can use the unit as a stand alone peice, using the remote eye input for control, and connect it to the av2 input (on the back of the unit). Just my .02.
  6. You could do one of two things to fix this problem. 1) Bypass the factory amp (located behind the blove box). Metra sells a harness just for this (70-6512) for the 02-05 w/infinity. May or may not be the same plug in. The wires are kinda tight, so you may want to use a harness. 2) Switch you front outs to the rear ins of your harness. The reason the fade doesn't work correctly and the voice guidance isn't there is the factory only uses a left/right input to the factory amp, and the amp controls all fade and crossover functions. Hope this helps.
  7. The blue end of the cable goes to the source, and the black to the device being controlled. So, from the D2, blue goes to the back of the radio, black to the iPod adaptor. The blue from the iPod adaptor to black of the changer. If it still does not recognize the changer, the changer may be defective. Try plugging the changer directly into the back of the radio (no iPod adaptor) and see what works. (I know, more work). If it still does not work, I belive the changer may be bad. Now for your airbag light. You must have turned the key on with the airbag light disconnected or the pass
  8. I would think that would be a question for your agent. Some companies have separate add ons for aftermarket stereo stuff. I know from my experiance with owning a kinda rare car (a 2001 Mustang Bullitt) and having some stereo work done to it (D3, Zapco amps and JL everywhere) that I have extra coverage to cover it. I think for 5 grand in coverage I pay 26 bucks every 6 months (I would have to pull my policy out to be sure, though) which is kinda nice.
  9. no, connect it to ignition power and you will be fine. i usually connect it to the accessory power behind the radio. i'm already running the video signal there, so what's two more wires?
  10. You didn't say if you had a big system or not, but the only time I have run into an issue with those steering wheel control adaptors is when a bass note hits, the voltage drops and then comes back up, the swi thinks it needs to change folders or presets. Does it do it when a bass note hits at high volume? Get a bigger alternator (your vehicle will thank you for it) If it is an otherwise stock setup, try reprogamming. If anything else, you may (again, may) want to let someone else look at it. Maybe a second set of eyes will catch what you are missing.
  11. This post makes me want to do a write-up on the D3 install in my '01 Bullitt.
  12. Have them hook up the orange/white wire on the d3 to the green/white (I think) in the car. The wire he needs to connect to will go to 12 volts when the parking lights are turned on.
  13. Maybe I missed it, but here goes. I would love to see a Speed sensitive volume (adjustable levels perhaps), even if it is only for the beep tones and voice guidance. In my Mustang Bullitt, at highway speeds it is kida loud and I have to have the beeps and voice guidance volume turned up kinda loud just to hear them. Around town, our little lady friend sound like she is shouting dirctions at me. If the unit is installed correctly, the vss wire is already connected, so it should only be a software change. Just my two cents.
  14. My Nano did the same thing a few days ago. I let it charge completely from the computer, and have not had a problem since. Anothor tip I have heard of- Don't just let the Ipod stay plugged in all the time when you are not using it. I have heard it will overheat the battery and diminish it's lifespan.
  15. Sounds to me like shop 2 botched it up somewhere, and they need to be the ones to fix.
  16. Just unboxed 3 raw units, plus 2 more in AVIC-D3X boxes. No problems getting them here.
  17. No, it will not work. All pioneer p-bus add ons (like the cd-ib100II) need the battery power and ground to function. Also, plug the blue end of the cable to the blue plug on the head unit, and the black plug into the black on the hide-a-way box.
  18. One of 5600 2001 Mustang Bullitts produced. And no it's not just a wingless GT.

You do not need to "flash" the headlights. Just connect the orange/white wire in the main harness to the parking light wire in your vehicle. will be orange or orange/white in the aftermarket harness used to connect it to the car.
  20. Funny, most f-150's, all f-250 and 350, most Mustangs, and most explorers I have worked on (with the 5520 harness) have had a grey/black in the main harness, above the accessory wire, next to the ground.
  21. I would say bad rca output on the deck.
  22. It is a japanese symbol, I cannot remember for what though. Man I'm getting old...
  23. I would go with the CD-IB100II. I know it is slower, but it allows a "pass-through" for other componants later on (like the bluetooth adaptor or the XM/Sirius tuners) and it charges the Ipod battery.
  24. Depends on which harness it is. If it is a smaller rectangular (what they call a 1771 plug) then the speed wire SHOULD be grey/black in the larger square plug. If you have the newer larger rectangular plug (or the 5520 plug) it will be in the main harness, above the accessory wire. It will still be grey/black.
