1. Actually, you'll make more money at CC than BB...and if you worked at BB, CC will pay you $1 more just for "defecting". I work for BB and we have a lot of ppl who don't get enough hours/week do that. Just FYI...weird though, I know.
2. The big reason I switched from my D3 was voice commands...and the voice commands are pretty much unusable on my 900BT. And I know the screen on this one is supposed to look better, but when I hook my Zune up to it through the A/V inputs, and use TV out it looks like trash, where it looked great on my D3. Take that with the excrutiatingly slow start up time, and the bad Bluetooth interface, and I'm not sure if I'd do it again. I know right now, I'm a lil sad I sold my D3 on fleaBay befor I really tried out the 900BT.
3.
Would it be possible to get a ford emblem centered on a black background with "Navigation Loading" underneath and then in a corner put "Powered by (Pioneer Logo)" TIA 8)
Um, is this kind of what ya were lookin for?
4.
Can someone make some of these in a HEMI, RAM, 5.7LHEMI logos thanks
I did my best to make this into a Ram for you, and since I like the background I made one for my Monte. 5. The maps are stored on the internal flash memory, no hard drive inside, and when I talked to pioneer about the same question they said that much like any GPS you could load other maps onto other SD cards and use it that way but cannot put it on the systems flash.
6. So I have the 900BT installed, and I have my contacts all pushed onto the unit (which transfered all 450 of my contacts very quickly I might add) and I was just wondering if you can edit the contacts names on the unit like you could with the D3? I pushed from a windows 6.1 smartphone and so the names show up as last name first, first name second, and I never remember that when when using the voice dial feature so it never finds the contact. Also, on some of the videos for the 900BT released by pioneer, the guy voice dials a contact, and it says there are two numbers, and he says call mobile.
7. Hmm, odd, cuz I've tested it with the original Q's, and the newer Q9C and Q9M and it worked. But oh well, just tryin to help.
8. Like they said, Pioneer is a better deal, and its more user friendly, but the w/ all the bugs in the system it makes it much closer. Plus the voice recognition for iPod and Bluetooth is basically useless. The latest update didn't do all that much for it, so in my eyes there very close, especially with the much bigger screen on the kenwood.
9. I don't, and never have, owned either, but Im an authorized cellphone retailer so I get to take phones home to test them out quite a bit. I tried the 800W recently and since its windows its probally going to have a troubles with the pioneer, they usually do. Your not going to be able to transfer contacts with the phone stock, a the makeing a call in startup is probally not gonna work either, but for the privacy factory all you have to do is hit the small bluetooth icon on the top and turn bluetooth off, or open the Comm Manager and turn bluetooth off, then just turn it back on when your do
10. The VSS wire will make your speedometer more accurate, it'll take the reading from your cars speedometer instead of calculating it from the GPS, but it won't make it lock any faster. Mine is hooked up and sometimes it takes a few seconds and sometimes it takes a few minutes, but unless you want your speedometer to be 100% accurate I wouldn't waste my time...cuz its a pain finding it.
11. Hey, I work for a cell phone retailer, and I get to try LOTS of smartphones out, and even so with my D3 I had befor I got the 900BT, a lot of them would have some problems with pioneers product. But, I installed JetWare from jetwaremobile.com on all the phones, and it rededicates the bluetooth functionality of the phone and I haven't ever had a problem since then. I strongly suggest ya'll try it, and its free for 30 days.
12. Nope, VSS is just if you want the speed to show up on the unit. Won't help your time at all. Its probably cloudy or somthing on the days it takes longer for you to get the GPS lock.
13. For the record, it is a pioneer problem. I talked to their CS for hours with my D3 and they basically said that a lot of smart phones just wont work, but that any normal phone should. But like I said, Jetwaremobile.com, download the software and it will connect. And when the 30 day trial is up, it doesn't matter, cuz its already connected.
14. You guys just just need to find a friend who works for a certain BLUE electronics retailer. They get everything for cost + 5%, the 900BT is $725 befor tax.
15. I believe the updating VR Data means that its cataloging all of the music on your iPod so that you can use the voice search function, you can turn it off in the settings, but the voice search won't work. Also, for your phone, Pioneer has a LOT of issues working with smart phones, I myself had problems with D3 and my HTC Touch. But if you go to Jetwaremobile.com you can download a free trial of thier bluetooth management software, and it rededicates all your bluetooth functions and it works. I made my phone work with the D3 and now my new 900BT.
16. They can look it up, and if they don't know how to they are prolly new. But believe me, BB has them, every day that I've gone to work for the last 2 weeks I've had to look at it and try not to drool.
17. Yeah, the BB I work at has had the 900BT for prolly 2 weeks already, its in every stores system, but like he mentioned, it goes by sales history. They can order it for you though.
18. Crutchfield also told me that the D3 would not fit in my '01 Monte Carlo, reason being that it was 2/10 of an inch longer than my car would accept. I had to dremmel the dash interior a little bit, but it fits perfectly. Screw Crutchfield!
19. I recently became the pround owner of a D3 which I installed in my Monte Carlo complete with bypass. I wanted to be able to play my Microsoft Zune on it but didn't want to use the aux and didn't really want to spend $120 on the USB adaptor. I had the Zune A/V kit already and I just hooked it up to the rca's in back and put the dock on my center council and it works GREAT! Yeah, I have to use the A/V remote instead of the touchscreen but I love it. What would show up on my Zune scree shows up completly on the D3 and the larger display makes navigation with the remote a breeze. Its just too
