1. This may be one of the better forums that i have seen since i found this site a few months ago.
2. Not trying to sound like a smart a** at all but VSS is the pink wire. purple/white is for the reverse.
3. As for your concerns, you cannot watch dvds while the nav disc is in because there is only the one slot for discs. What you do is put in the navi disc and set your destination. Once done, take it out and put in the dvd. The D3 will keep the dest. in memory and still guide you there. POI works basically like you stated, tell it what you want and it will find locations that are near you and you choose the one you want. And it is all inclusive of the nav dvd. As far as the Sirius question goes, I don't really understand what you are asking.
4. None, I have a 2007 Trailblazer and have already done the bypass and my onstar still workd great
5. Standards must not be to high. BB did and installation on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer and while trying to install the motion sensor, they broke my center console w/ AC conctrols. Before that, they broke a chip the is down by the shifter and had to replace that also. All and all, I paid 350 for my alarm and remote start and installation. Their insurance company has had to pay me $150 for the chip, and an addtional $590 for the center console to be relplaced and installed. I bet they will think twice b4 they attempt to install anything on a Trailblazer again. I must admit though, in the e
6. The D3 in general does not have to have both wires hooked up. the advantage that you get when hookin up the VSS wire is that you get speed, acceleration, etc... Also the VSS wire is used to give more accurate positioning with the nav when going through mtns, up and down hills and tunnels. The reverse wire is mainly used if you are planning to hook up a reverse camera. It gets the signal and turn the camera on. As for where they are, i will have to get back to you unless someone else knows.
7. I had the same problem and came to find out i had switched my ip bus cable. So try it, I'm 99% sure that is it.
8. If you only ground the parking brake wire, the video will continue to cut out while driving because the gyro will sense that the vehicle is in motion. So, in order to bypass that, you need to move the mute wire to the open slot beside it and ground it along with the parking brake wire. Be sure that the pin clicks when you move it to the new slot.
9. Yeah sounds to me like he was just trying to sound like he knew it all
10. Can you make one for a 2007 Trailblazer? Blue.
11. In this forum, about 3 posts down from yours, you can find some pasiaNYC who may be able to burn you a copy.
12. Thanks for confirming that for me, itchy
13. Should be fine. The mute wire doesn't hook up to the bluetooth adapter anyway.
14. PM pasiannyc and see what he can work out for you.
15. I'm gonna guess that you don't install much. The mute wire is not needed unless you have a car phone or something of the sort.....Anyways, you do need to ground the mute wire along with the parking brake wire and ground both of them. As far as the bluetooth deal, I don't have that with my d3 or the ipod, but i know that there are forums on here that discuss those in detail. My D3 is bypassed and my XM works fine, I can still mute it as the mute function is an internal action. The mute wire recieves an external signal to tell the D3 to mute, I believe. I know i'm not the most knowledgeable pers
16. thanks hottwhyrd. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes.
17. I believe that it is normal to look like that. My screen looked the same way until i changed it to something different.
18. I have an 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with the D3 installed. I used the GMOS-04 to retain my chime and all but sometimes when I get out of the truck, the beeping keeps going. I checked and no lights/switches are on. It has only happened approx 2-3 times but it is annoying. Could my GMOS-04 be bad, I doubt it has anything to do with bad connections, but any ideas would be welcomed.
19. i agree with that in this situation
20.
if you want tracking 24/7 of everywhere you go and have been.... just get a girlfriend
aint that the truth, mine can tell me where i am b4 i know. Especially when i'm not supposed to be there.
21. If you think you can handle it, i would tell you to do it yourself. The install shop may not want to take responsibility in the event that something happens because you were driving and watching a movie at the same time. Honestly, when I did my install, it took about 4 minutes for the install and about 20 minutes to take my dash apart and put it back in. The bypass is not hard at all, the question is how difficult is your dash to take apart.
