  1. Hello All, ive just bought a vehicle with an AVIC-Z130BT installed but no backup camera. Went to install a backup camera today and found there is no violet/white wire on the plug coming from the z130bt. No wires missing from plug just no violet/white, can someone tell me what position this wire is on the plug (a picture would be very helpfull) thinking it might have the wrong color wire installed.
  2. My AVH 4200NEX has worked fine. There is a backup camera installed. This morning I went out and started the pickup and the image that appeared was the rear view with guidelines. I could not get rid of the video. I turned the key off and then back on, and now I get a blank screen - no Pioneer logo or disclaimer, and then the screen goes black and the rear guidelines show up. I can't get to the main menu, or ANY menu. The radio just sits there with the black screen and guidelines.
  3. I just recently installed a Pioneer AVIC-w6400NEX in my 2018 Ford F-150. I replaced the small 4.2 screen. I used a PAC RPK4-FD2201 install kit. Everything is working fine except my backup camera. It’s just a dark screen. I have went through the settings on the 6400. I’m positive I have them set correctly. When I installed the PAC kit, their harness had a red/white wire coming off of the harness. Their legend for the wire said 12v+ Programmable Output. I did not hook this wire up because I wasn’t sure of it’s purpose and if it should be hooked up to a solid red wire. Here’s a link to
  4. Hi all, I recently installed an 8200NEX (with Maestro) into a friend’s 2016 Jeep Patriot. The radio install went great, and that’s working all fine. The issue is the backup camera. We used this camera: NOAUKA Waterproof IP68 Night Vision 170 Degree Car Rear view/Reversing/Reverse Camera Universal Color CMOS Imaging Chip Backup Parking HD Front View Camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNM7GNS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hw5CBb9ZNZNXV I have the camera power wired to the reverse lights, and have tested the camera to a portable TV, using the supplied video cable. The camera wor
  5. I just installed a Pioneer AVH-2800BS in my 2005 Ford F150, adding a cheapie backup camera / license plate frame off Amazon. I've tapped the reverse bulb in my rear view lights to power the camera, and that is working correctly. However, the head unit doesn't intelligently switch to the camera when I go into reverse, as I would prefer. Instead, the camera feed comes on at startup (I have marked Backup Camera as "on" in the Pioneer head unit settings) and then I have to manually hit the "X" button at the top right to cancel the camera feed once I'm driving. In other words, the head unit doesn't
  6. Hi all, looking at installing the 8000NEX in a 2012 Grand Cherokee with backup camera already installed. Question: Will I be able to retain the existing OEM camera or will I need to replace it? Thanks in advance for any help!
  7. Hello, I have an issue with an install Im not sure If im missing something. I have the AVH-X2700BS unit my main concern is with the reverse camera. The reverse camera comes with just a black and red wire so I wired the red into the Purple/White Reverse wire and the black in with the radio's ground. With the camera setting on "BATT". Now my main problem is that when initially turn on the unit and put the car in reverse it will go to camera mode, but when the car is put back in drive the camera view does not go away. it will just go to black, since the camera itself is no longer receiv
  8. I purchased a backup camera (license plate frame) and have a few questions. 1. The camera came with 3 wires, RCA, ground and one to connect to the reverse lights. Is there any need to hook anything to the back of the deck besides the video input (yellow RCA cord)? Will the deck automatically switch to the camera in reverse with just having the RCA attached to it? 2. What settings should I adjust to make this work the best? Thanks for any input you guys can give!
  9. I received an EC170-09 for Christmas and just had it installed. The description of the camera says that it produces a mirror image... http://www.hisgadget.com/product/esky-car-license-plate-cmos-backup-camera-copy/ My head unit (a pioneer AVH-4000NEX) The manual says it requires a camera that produces a mirror image: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/705047/Pioneer-Avh-4000nex.html?page=70#manual I had the camera professionally installed, so I'm /assuming/ that it's hooked up correctly.. but when I use the camera, obstacles to my rear left show up on the right side of the sc
  10. Before: I had a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD installed in my '04 Nissan 350z (manual transmission-in case that makes any difference) and later on decided to add a back up camera. When I first installed the camera, and it worked fine: came on when I put the car in reverse, turned off when I took it out, but I was getting the black screen that says "Caution Image May Be Reversed" that would pop up randomly (every few minutes while driving) but would go away if I tapped the screen. I fixed that..not exactly sure anymore exactly what I did to fix it, but long story short, everything was working as
  11. Hey guys and gals! New to posting on the site trying to track down a gremlin in my camera and new 5600. When I first start the car, the backup camera is on and works. If I shift to drive, the screen doesn't turn back...I have to hold mute to get it off. When I go to reverse, the screen doesn't change. If I go to camera and touch on, the backup camera is on. Any ideas?
  12. Okay guys, here is my situation. I would love some suggestions if you have any on how to make this work. I just ordered my 8000NEX, it will be replacing my Z2 with hard drive and Z3 software update.<-- ($For sale$) In my truck connected to the Z2 I have the following: -Sprint 4g Internet Hotspot (to provide dedicated internet and streaming media for passengers when traveling on trips) -Hardwired (power only) Apple Airport Extreme router -Hardwired (power only) Apple TV with HDMI to RCA conversion unit to AV input. -Backup Camera connected to Rear Camera input. -Will have the HD
  13. I'm doing an install of an Appradio 3 in my 2003 Ford Expedition and I need a recommendation for a backup camera. I know there are some cheap solutions on EBay that work, but I'm not sure which one to get.
  14. Hi everyone, I'm working on AVH-P3200DVD with backup camera on a Hummer H2. However I can't get it working automatically with the reverse gear. Here is what I did: 1 connect the camera to a 12v source seperately from the car (I will eventually hook up the power with the car, it is just for testing now) 2 connect the camera RCA connector to the DVD unit (RC in) 3 connect the violet/white cord from the unit to the positive cord of the back-up lamp 4 set the camera polarity to "Battery" (I tried Ground also, no any differences) So, as a result, if I push the "rear view" function on the unit,
  15. I have read a lot but I am still doubting between the two versions Appradio. I will do the installation in a new Nissan Micra with an iPhone 4 already jailbreaked. I want to use the Appradio to listen my music and podcast. I need a good handsfree set and occasionally will need GPS capability. I don't want to loose the steering wheel remote functionality and plan to install a backup camera. Which backup camera will fit with the Appradio? Do I need to buy the Pioneer retail accesory? For the wheel steering interface, do I need a special cable set? Â I see this one http://www.emssiweb.co
  16. I am a newbie on this forum. Hope my problem/solution will benefit others. I have a Pioneer AVH-P6400CD in my RV that is my radio, CD Player, Backup monitor. It works but needs repair on flip-up monitor. I can't find anybody that still works on this unit. So looking for a replacement such as possibly the Pioneer AVH-P6300. Anyone have any experience with the P6400/P6300 changeout. My questions are: do they use the same installation sleeve, are the plugs the same, will the P6300 accept my backup camera plug and CD changer plug. Any help any of you experts can give on this subject will b
