  1. Hi all, I recently installed an 8200NEX (with Maestro) into a friend’s 2016 Jeep Patriot. The radio install went great, and that’s working all fine. The issue is the backup camera. We used this camera: NOAUKA Waterproof IP68 Night Vision 170 Degree Car Rear view/Reversing/Reverse Camera Universal Color CMOS Imaging Chip Backup Parking HD Front View Camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNM7GNS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hw5CBb9ZNZNXV I have the camera power wired to the reverse lights, and have tested the camera to a portable TV, using the supplied video cable. The camera works fine, and activated properly when in reverse. The issue is that I get absolutely ZERO video on the camera when connected to the 8200NEX. I am using the brown port on the deck, not the yellow input. See below for images of the camera testing: https://imgur.com/a/PuL4u1e The real head scratcher here is that I can plug a portable DVD player to the deck, and that video shows just fine when connected, using the same video cable as the camera. Also, between Sunday when the unit wa installed, and today, when we were doing more testing, the unit stopped switching to the camera automatically when in reverse. I’m not sure what’s causing this, but I think the no video issue is a touch more important right now. If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to get this camera working! Thanks in advance!
  2. I just installed a Pioneer AVH-2800BS in my 2005 Ford F150, adding a cheapie backup camera / license plate frame off Amazon. I've tapped the reverse bulb in my rear view lights to power the camera, and that is working correctly. However, the head unit doesn't intelligently switch to the camera when I go into reverse, as I would prefer. Instead, the camera feed comes on at startup (I have marked Backup Camera as "on" in the Pioneer head unit settings) and then I have to manually hit the "X" button at the top right to cancel the camera feed once I'm driving. In other words, the head unit doesn't auto-detect that I'm no longer in reverse and fails to automatically close the feed. I'm used to the backup camera only triggering when I go into reverse, and then going away automatically when I'm driving. Is this functionality not provided in the AVH-2800BS? Or am I just not wired into the right wire to trigger the backup camera? (I connected it to the black and pink cable as many tutorials stated, but perhaps it was the wrong black and pink cable?) Thanks!
  3. Hello, I have an issue with an install Im not sure If im missing something. I have the AVH-X2700BS unit my main concern is with the reverse camera. The reverse camera comes with just a black and red wire so I wired the red into the Purple/White Reverse wire and the black in with the radio's ground. With the camera setting on "BATT". Now my main problem is that when initially turn on the unit and put the car in reverse it will go to camera mode, but when the car is put back in drive the camera view does not go away. it will just go to black, since the camera itself is no longer receiving signal. Does anyone has information on how this should properly function or is this just how it is.
  4. I received an EC170-09 for Christmas and just had it installed. The description of the camera says that it produces a mirror image... http://www.hisgadget.com/product/esky-car-license-plate-cmos-backup-camera-copy/ My head unit (a pioneer AVH-4000NEX) The manual says it requires a camera that produces a mirror image: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/705047/Pioneer-Avh-4000nex.html?page=70#manual I had the camera professionally installed, so I'm /assuming/ that it's hooked up correctly.. but when I use the camera, obstacles to my rear left show up on the right side of the screen and vice versa (instead of appearing as they would in the rear-view mirror) This don't seem right. Can you offer any insight? Liam
  5. Before: I had a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD installed in my '04 Nissan 350z (manual transmission-in case that makes any difference) and later on decided to add a back up camera. When I first installed the camera, and it worked fine: came on when I put the car in reverse, turned off when I took it out, but I was getting the black screen that says "Caution Image May Be Reversed" that would pop up randomly (every few minutes while driving) but would go away if I tapped the screen. I fixed that..not exactly sure anymore exactly what I did to fix it, but long story short, everything was working as it should. Now: I bought a Pioneer AVIC Z110BT from a friend and installed it the other day. I reused the wiring harness from the P1400DVD because it was the exact same. The only thing that changed, which I can't imagine makes a difference, was, with the P1400DVD, I was using a relay to bypass the parking break. I took that out because I don't watch movies while I'm driving and there is very little space behind the HU in a 350Z. Camera wiring: RCA running from camera in the back of the car to the backup camera input on the unit. Wire running form the reverse lights to the back of the unit. Camera's + also spliced into reverse lights. Camera's - grounded to chassis. Problem: I go into system settings, turn on the backup camera with the polarity set to battery and nothing happens at all, ever. If I set the polarity to ground, every time i start the car and the unit turns on, I get the black screen that says "caution image may be reversed" but when I put the car into reverse, the camera comes on as it should, and turns off when I take it out of reverse. But, the black screen will not go away no matter what I do. The volume buttons, next/prev track button, and eject buttons will work, but I cant get off the black screen unless I disconnect the battery to reset the unit. Is there something I'm missing because, from where I'm sitting, the damn thing should work. lol
  6. Hey guys and gals! New to posting on the site trying to track down a gremlin in my camera and new 5600. When I first start the car, the backup camera is on and works. If I shift to drive, the screen doesn't turn back...I have to hold mute to get it off. When I go to reverse, the screen doesn't change. If I go to camera and touch on, the backup camera is on. Any ideas?
  7. Hi all, looking at installing the 8000NEX in a 2012 Grand Cherokee with backup camera already installed. Question: Will I be able to retain the existing OEM camera or will I need to replace it? Thanks in advance for any help!
  8. NEX 8000 question

Okay guys, here is my situation. I would love some suggestions if you have any on how to make this work. I just ordered my 8000NEX, it will be replacing my Z2 with hard drive and Z3 software update.<-- ($For sale$) In my truck connected to the Z2 I have the following: -Sprint 4g Internet Hotspot (to provide dedicated internet and streaming media for passengers when traveling on trips) -Hardwired (power only) Apple Airport Extreme router -Hardwired (power only) Apple TV with HDMI to RCA conversion unit to AV input. -Backup Camera connected to Rear Camera input. -Will have the HDMI iPhone connector and lightning cable setup for NEX input/mirroring. I need help to figure out how to connect these components most efficiently to the 8000NEX. I would prefer to have the Apple TV connected via HDMI, but the Cable for the iPhone mirroring is also HDMI. Currently my Apple TV interferes with my backup camera input since they both display on the AV screen. Would a HDMI Y cable work? Thanks in advance for your help!! Joe
  9. I purchased a backup camera (license plate frame) and have a few questions. 1. The camera came with 3 wires, RCA, ground and one to connect to the reverse lights. Is there any need to hook anything to the back of the deck besides the video input (yellow RCA cord)? Will the deck automatically switch to the camera in reverse with just having the RCA attached to it? 2. What settings should I adjust to make this work the best? Thanks for any input you guys can give!
  10. I'm doing an install of an Appradio 3 in my 2003 Ford Expedition and I need a recommendation for a backup camera. I know there are some cheap solutions on EBay that work, but I'm not sure which one to get.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm working on AVH-P3200DVD with backup camera on a Hummer H2. However I can't get it working automatically with the reverse gear. Here is what I did: 1 connect the camera to a 12v source seperately from the car (I will eventually hook up the power with the car, it is just for testing now) 2 connect the camera RCA connector to the DVD unit (RC in) 3 connect the violet/white cord from the unit to the positive cord of the back-up lamp 4 set the camera polarity to "Battery" (I tried Ground also, no any differences) So, as a result, if I push the "rear view" function on the unit, it did shows the rear view image perfectly. But I have to do this manually. It will not shift to rear view automatically when I shift to reverse gear. I check the cord from the reverse lamp and make sure there is 12v coming in when I shift to reverse. So I couldn't figure out what I did wrong, anybody has any ideas? Thanks Livio
  12. I have read a lot but I am still doubting between the two versions Appradio. I will do the installation in a new Nissan Micra with an iPhone 4 already jailbreaked. I want to use the Appradio to listen my music and podcast. I need a good handsfree set and occasionally will need GPS capability. I don't want to loose the steering wheel remote functionality and plan to install a backup camera. Which backup camera will fit with the Appradio? Do I need to buy the Pioneer retail accesory? For the wheel steering interface, do I need a special cable set?  I see this one http://www.emssiweb.com/tienda/ctpioneerlead/pr-8493/?s=17&f=865&fft_cs=1_16_19_17_14_15. Would it be ok for Appradio and my car? I saw that the first Appradio vers. has a steering wheel setting menu, the Appradio 2 not. How this function is programmed or set, on the Appradio 2? I guess the SPH-DA01 will fit to my need, but the Appradio 2 has maybe more functions I don't even know. Your help would be much appreciated.
  13. I am a newbie on this forum. Hope my problem/solution will benefit others. I have a Pioneer AVH-P6400CD in my RV that is my radio, CD Player, Backup monitor. It works but needs repair on flip-up monitor. I can't find anybody that still works on this unit. So looking for a replacement such as possibly the Pioneer AVH-P6300. Anyone have any experience with the P6400/P6300 changeout. My questions are: do they use the same installation sleeve, are the plugs the same, will the P6300 accept my backup camera plug and CD changer plug. Any help any of you experts can give on this subject will be greately appreciated. Thanks, Jim.
