bird_dog0347
So my Avic D3 has had bad alternator whine through the RCA's since I bought it. (used) A few weeks ago it was stolen from my truck and I got it back a few days later. I decided since it was already out, I would see about getting it sent in for service to get the pico fuse fixed. Well, it was still under warranty so I sent it in and received it back yesterday. I shipped it out on the 3rd UPS ground and got it back on the 15th. That means they only had it for 2 days... pretty fast I think. I have not installed it yet, but I would assume they tested it and it is working fine now. Looking forward to getting it all back together though.
HiFiSi
Nice. Hopefully it's fixed!
superjet
Before installing it, vefify that your ground on the amplifier is top notch. This is what causes the fuse to blow in the first place.
offroaderf150
ive run across a couple d3s that have had bad alternator wine through the rcas. everything else was grounded perfectly and ran perfectly. hopefully they fixed it!
superjet
Fuses do not blow by themselves, there is always a reason.
bird_dog0347
Not sure what caused it to blow... it was always like that. The rest of the system is grounding perfectly and I was able to eliminate the whine by using line out converters. That proved the system was fine and the problem was only on the HU it's self. nick526
how'd you get it back after it was stolen?
bird_dog0347
The jack@$$ posted it on craigslist.com a few hours after stealing it, pics and all. Worked with the cops (read:did their job for them and was treated like I was bothering them) to setup a buy for my iPod (it was stolen too) and they busted him. They recovered the stereo later that night. I was about to handle it all myself (not legally), but it likely would have gotten ugly and I have a 6 month old son to think about. Either way I got most of the stuff back and it will be installed a little more securely this time.
HiFiSi
What a fuckin' dumb ass. Only a complete retard would post something he stole that very same day on craigslist in or around the area he stole it from.
Derf
yeah, I usually wait a few days and use eBay.

Phlame217
craigs list is just a main stream black market for stolen goods. Sure good things are sold their too, but its too easy to rid of stolen items.

bird_dog0347
craigslist.com is the pawn shop of the internet. Basically if your shit gets jacked, check it immediately, and then again every 2 hours for the next month. It will most likely turn up. I just got lucky and found it within hours.
