shoman94
You know... it would probably be helpful to Tele-Atlas if you went on there website and gave them the updates for the maps. http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com/mapfeedback/index.php
ruiner
It's fine. Although my neighborhood (which is 2.5yrs old), is not reflected in the discs (it is reflected in Mapquest, however). I wish they would have included a fix for the "dialled" calls misspelling in the bluetooth screen, though. I mean, come on...how the hell do you let that misspelling get past the QA team? Guest astrobill
Guys: Another post on here says the file dates on the update disks are something like May 2008. That means Pioneer probably received/purchased the data a few months before from TeleAtlas.... Given that TeleAtlas doesn't instantly update their own databases everytime someone reports new things, but rather, waits until their own GIS specialists can verify it, the data on the new Pioneer map disks is probably VERY old. So basically, the data on the "update" disks could be as old as mid 2007...or older! lol - Astro
kruff10
well the 70 and 80 disk are really the same lol
FourDoor
For those that updated, do you lose the custom background screens for the iPod, boot up, nav menu screens when you update with the new nav disk? I don't know where I put my custom made backgrounds at the moment and don't want to update the software until I can verify I don't lose my fancy backgrounds without being able to easily restore them. shoman94
I had a lot of new businesses and stuff updated.... and 80% of what I reported has been updated..... pretty cool I thing. I'm anxious to see if it fixes the routing issues... haven't been able to test it yet.
edggar
Roads that were built last year are still missing from the map... but I see that my d3 boots a little faster now.

hagow_boy
After the update on my D3, I lost my intro splash jpg image but my address book was still intact. LUNARFX
My girlfriend has the D3 and I have the D2, and both of us have not had any issues. We've also tried using them on locations where we knew were faster or shorter to get to, and they have not changed as well, even with a few roads that have been built. One occasion where there was a new(er) highway, it took us through that route in the "Faster" route, and was on the money for time. I'd say we've had a great investment on our D-series navigation units.
Pupwiz
I have no voice guidance in my home town even though on 70MT I had this. Same thing happend to me also. Now all my local city streets are purple with the voice saying no voice navigation from this point on once i get into town. Humm working on getting it back to pre update but looks like I will need a remote to do this.
c230drvr
I have no voice guidance in my home town even though on 70MT I had this. Same thing happend to me also. Now all my local city streets are purple with the voice saying no voice navigation from this point on once i get into town. Humm working on getting it back to pre update but looks like I will need a remote to do this. I was having similar and even more tragic results: my unit was fairly FUBAR'd by either an incomplete download/upgrade from the previous update file posted on the forum from a the "N" model. probably my error since it worked for others. I was able to DL this file and burn the image to a disc using PowerISO. I reset my unit using the reset porthole on the upper left of the unit by the eject button with the new disc inserted. After the unit 'rebooted' it updated again -completely this time- and it works with all of the pre-upgrade functions (map icons and function etc etc etc). the unit starts faster when I turn on my car and it has 2008 copyright from pioneer as well 5/2008 from telatlas and infousa. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting the actual discs! I would also like to thank the people who posted the original disc even though it did not work for me. I appreciate being part of a community that has members that go way above beyond my greatest expectation of an online association. In kind, I do graphic design work and would be willing to, in my limited time, pay it forward by helping create a few backgrounds for those that may want/need them. jaedee
Definitely boots faster. Anytime you "update" you will have to reload your custom screens as they are set back to the default setting. Didn't see much difference with the map, however, the phone number search works better IMO.
