eppler
Does anyone know which numbers to change to make street labels show further in the distance? I have changed them and have not seen any change yet. I'm running with something like this: [clip_planes] ; mode, lower bound, upper bound, lower value, upper Value ; mode: 0: by zoom level, ; 1: by number of cells, ; 2: by intersect value (0..45), ; 3 by camera tilt angle (0..100 from totally flat to top-downview) ; values: 0.0 .. 1.0 * 1000 (= 0..1000) faded_buildings_near = 0, 10, 200, 600, 600 faded_buildings_medium = 0, 10, 200, 650, 650 faded_buildings_far = 0, 10, 200, 750, 750 solid_buildings_near = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 solid_buildings_medium = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 solid_buildings_far = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 landmark = 0 , 1, 50, 1000, 1000 road0 = 3, 20, 70, 930, 1000 road1 = 3, 20, 70, 950, 1000 road2 = 3, 10, 75, 970, 1000 road3 = 3, 0, 100, 995, 995 roadsign = 2, 0, 40, 1000, 900 ;a ket reszletesebb terrain terrain0 = 0, 30, 30, 750, 750 terrain1 = 0, 30, 30, 850, 850 ;reszletes shapek. I have changed the values but it only shows labels for two streets ahead of me despite the numbers I give it. Does having the misdirect cut back on items being displayed? Does having the misdirect cut back on items being displayed? No, MSNDirect should not affect it one way or another. Are you editing a clip_planes file or the clip_planes section inside a color scheme?
gjas18
The mode change seems to be the important part... I changed the mode for all the roads to 0 (zoomlevel based) then screwed with the numbers to find something that worked. After about 5 minutes of tinkering this is what I came up with that worked. [clip_planes] ; mode, lower bound, upper bound, lower value, upper Value ; mode: 0: zoomlevel alapjan interpolal, 1: megjelenitendo cellak szama alapjan, 2 a camera iranyvektora alapjan ; a value-k ezerszereset kell beirni (0.1 helyett 100-at) faded_buildings_near = 0, 10, 200, 600, 600 faded_buildings_medium = 0, 10, 200, 650, 650 faded_buildings_far = 0, 10, 200, 750, 750 solid_buildings_near = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 solid_buildings_medium = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 solid_buildings_far = 0, 95, 100, 1000,980 landmark = 0 , 1, 50, 1000, 1000 road0 = 0, 0, 600, 900, 1300 road1 = 0, 0, 600, 900, 1400 road2 = 0, 0, 600, 900, 1450 road3 = 0, 0, 600, 900, 1600 roadsign = 0, 0, 600, 900, 1700 Also, this code is in the color3d.ini file inside the color scheme zip file you are currently using. BorisM
Also, this code is in the color3d.ini file inside the color scheme zip file you are currently using. That's if the scheme even has a color3d.ini -- if it doesn't, it can go into color.ini
gjas18
I wonder what would happen if someone just took out the color3d.ini? Anyway, its not perfect... After driving around a bit I noticed it will draw the names near my location but not farther out. So what needs to be found is the value that controls that aspect of the name drawing. Since I don't have anymore time to tinker this week I may throw this question out into an iGo forum and see what I get back. Unless someone here can figure out what lower/upper bound and lower/upper value actually mean in context with the different modes.

If there's no color3d.ini software will use values from color.ini This whole thing is just trial and error. I just created a bunch of schemes that were all the same except for roadsign values and played with them until I got a satisfactory result. I'll need to pull schemes from the headunit to see what my favorite values are...
nbdew002
Where do these changes go? for example file path. Also does anyone have a zip with this file?
gjas18
I don't have mine perfected yet so I won't post it but if you want to try editing it the color3d.ini is in My Flash Disk -> APL2 -> iGO -> Content -> Schemes then whichever scheme file you are using. Make sure to remember to edit both your day and night scheme.

I just went My Flash Drive-APL2-iGO-content and thats it. Thanks for the info. I will wait till someone perfects it and try their file. I'm going on a trip this weekend and don't want to fuss around with it potentially making it un-usable for the trip.
ulmer
If anyone figures out the magic setting here for those running 3.0, I'd be hugely grateful. With 2.0 I was seeing at least the next 3-4 cross streets show up with names. With 3.0, I usually only get the next one. Not all that useful.
free_refil
Ya, I used the modified sys.txt they posted in the 3.0 mod's thread for viewing skys and it lowered my 3D level to the point I had it on 2.0 software (where you can see the horizon). This makes 3D view much more pleasant, but the street names are still hard to see up far... Its wierd that now it's almost preferable to use 2D view just to see the street names!!!
