Diaftia's Hybrid mods V1 - UPDATED: 12/1/09 FINAL

Recommended Posts

I am not able to do step 13, there is no folder called "Copy and Past in APL" in the RAR file once I decompress it.

What do I do now? Should I skip it? :???:

Edit: Skipped it and all seems fine. Hopefully it stays that way. I'm still confused about that part, so it'd be great if someone can explain step 13-15 for me. Don't know why I can't find that folder. o.O

does it have to get a signal to show the number. right now I don't get any number at the bottom. but I also don't have any signal. no tuned station no tuning status no region last packet is all 0 except time is 12:00 build version is blank.

You should. All the MSN stuff is at a firmware level below the data.zip. All the data.zip does is allow you to access what the tuner see's. You are clicking on the status button and nothing is showing? You are getting radio stations? I am not sure but this sounds like a separate issue. I checked on mine and I see a MSN activation #. Do some searching and see if others are having this problem. I can almost swear I have heard of people having this problem even with the default mods. If all else fails you can load the default data.zip and see if the problem is still there but I anticipate it will be.

Is it possible to mod the map to add speed limits? may be dumb question but thought I would ask.

Not that I have seen. That is part of the map data. You can try loading a new ezrider.exe and an updated map or even a different brand map to see if its there. But depending on where you live there might not be any roads other than freeways that have posted speeds. It tends to be freeways and major streets.

I removed the commonlib.dll from my mods. I think it was causing some people problems. That step is left over from that. I will update the directions. You are fine without it.

Thanks for explaining it. And thanks for the great mods too.

I have completely ported my mods over to another mod set. My mods now run on Stanislavovich’s and N-S-E-W’s mods. I have taken all of the layout from the original Keeper mods and ported them over to this new one. This has gotten rid of some of the bugs when coding that I was not able to fix not matter what I did. For example settings saving as they should when you turn off the AVIC. I have created new speed signs and elevation signs that are bigger since many people requested this. There are also added things in the settings that have been adopted to the new mods such as when and what things can be displayed. You can also click on the things like the time to destination and get the time at destination as you could in the original mod set. Also setting the top bar to show the waypoint in green or the next turn in yellow also works on the speedometer screen as well.

This new release features the Stanislavovich tripcomp and Tripdial, the speedometer by Keeper, Diaftia derived from the Gurjon skin. The ported Multiroute from Diaftia and and all new quickmenu by Diaftia.

Thanks to Harvey_Gordon and Fatherfork for doing some exhaustive testing in this version to make sure it was right before release. I think they helped me deliver a higher quality set of mods. :)

Hey Diaftia, I was the one with the layer error on the f500bt.. do you think these new set of mods should work?

Hey Diaftia, I was the one with the layer error on the f500bt.. do you think these new set of mods should work?

I would definitely try it! I bet it should since it's all new. Start simple though. Just move the data.zip and the digital.ttf font files. Then if all goes well move the rest. I started to think about the reason it did not work before. There are things that are specific to the F500 like battery status. If that layer was not called up on a regular unit the error in code would never present itself. In the case of the F500 it did call it up and found the error. This one should be fine. Check it out and let me know how it goes.

Diaftia,

I noticed on your quick start menu you have a button labled "record". What does that do? By the way, excellent work on this!!

Thanks,

Bryan

Thanks!

That starts the recording of the track logs to record your current trip. Say you want to try different ways to work and see which one is shorter over the course of a week. Record them all and then go back and take a look at them.

HELP!!! :(

I tried the latest mod, but everything is different!?! :?

As I said before, I live in germany - so here we have the units meters (m) for elevation and length and kilometers per hour (km/h) for speed, but everything is in feet an miles? Also the menu-descriptions into the whole navigation-menus are english, not german (audio- and telephone-menus are german as usual!!) and the navigation starts with the US-Language file, not with German "Katrin" as set in voice-settings!

On every mod before I just had to change the first line in the "sys.txt" from type="PIONEER746UC" to type="PIONEER746EW" and everything was german and had the right units! Also I had to delete the number 2 behind tmc in lines 7 and 8 to get TMC working! With these changes everything was fine - until today!

I did this to the latest mod but nothing changed!

I tried to change the voice to German "Steffi" and after that step the voice changed into german voice - now I changed to "Katrin" again and everything is fine - but only with the voice!

After I changed the system-language to German again, some of the navigation-menus are german, too, except the custom made menu-points, which seems to be logical to me and which I can handle!

BUT - all units are still wrong!!

Now I've done the following changes into "sys.txt" - comparable to the values in the last files:

- type="PIONEER746EW"

- deleted the 2 after tmc in lines 7 and 8

- changed [local] to voice_key="Eng_us_m1" and default_language="english US" as it was in the last "sys.txt"

- changed [gps] to default_latitude="0.0" and default_longitude="0.0" as it was in the last "sys.txt"

- changed [regional] to units=1 as it was in the last "sys.txt"

BUT no success - units do not change to m and km/h!

Any idea, what I have to do / change to get the right information for Europe / Germany??

And for the next step to a completely translated menu - where (in what file) is the text I have to change / translate, to set the custom navigation-menu to german?

I will waive my question about the TMC-button from yesterday until I have this latest mod working!

But I guess I may have a solution for this!

EDIT: As I see, midas has a similar problem! :?

EDIT 2: Great mod at first sight - many new features and settings!! Also a reason why I would like to have it for EU-versions!

does this mean we should restore the commonlib.dll to its default?

Is the track log a mod you added or something pioneer has available? Is is difficult to add?

Thanks,

Bryan
