Pioneer has posted an important firmware update for the AVIC-X920BT and AVIC-Z120BT. This will also work with the AVIC-Z110BT navigation system, that has been upgraded with the CNSD-110FM Upgrade

This firmware update (version 2.003) contains important improvements addressing Bluetooth and voice recognition operations. Please notify you existing customers of this update, and be sure to address your current inventory. Follow the links below to begin the updating process.

So, I just installed the update on my boss' car. He has a Z110 upgraded to a Z120 with the CNSD-110FM Upgrade.

 

I cannot say for sure if this fixes the problems addressed in this thread since I do not own a Z and have not experienced these issues first hand but this is what i noticed...

 

When the unit boots up and the radio is the first thing you see, if you press the Voice Recognition button it will say "VR not active. Please go to Map screen and press OK to activate".

 

So as Blue said previously, this "problem" seems to be by design but at least they made it more apparent this time. Instead of the VR failing and being inconsistant before pressing the "OK" button on the map screen, they make it manditory before you can even attempt to use the VR and clearly tell you this when you press the VR button.

So, still not fixed. This is just stupid. It is a slight improvement however, but still no cigar. Dawgbone's idea would have been far better. But hey, why am I not surprised?
