dto605
So I just installed the D-3 and love it, but I can't watch Ipod videos when I go over 10 mph. I have the DVD bypass engaged. Has anyone gotten around this?
trol1374
Can you do other functions that would normally be blocked out when driving. Like watching a DVD or setting a location to route to, while driving. If you can't, then you didn't bypass right.
MisFit
yeah, your bypass is definitely not done right. your ipod doesnt have any lockout, just video out on and off. if you get any picture at all then your ipod is set right. check your bypass connections. the e-brake info wont help you because the problem is going to be in the mute wire connection
dto605
isnt there a code I can punch in? Do I really have to go into the guts again?
trol1374
No code. Misfit says it is the mute wire. Did you move it to the upper notch, and if so, then make sure it is set snuggly. Check the ground connection for that mute wire. The few minutes it takes to take the dash off to get to the radio and fix it properly is well worth it. After you do that, take it for a spin before you put it back together to make sure you got it right.
dto605
Alright, I will do that tomorrow, hopefully. I will let you know what happens. The more I think about it, I don't think I remembered to ground the mute, I just put it in the correct pin position. whoops

dto605
Ok, it worked. I watched a movie off my Ipod while doing 60 around a turn. It was great.

cntrylvr79
Metal in the dash would be a good place to start.
HiFiSi
Any bolt or screw going into the body of the car will do fine.
