  1. No, the IP-Bus does not transfer video signals - you can only import audio. Sorry
  2. It is the CD-IP150 - MSRP is $ 35.00 Only problem is not very many dealers carry them. I think it is also available thru Pioneer parts - if it is, it would probably be more $$$
  3. You could use the convertor box the way you are thinking, but there would be some issuses. The good news: if the box has A/V outputs, you wouldn't need to have a regular (NTSC) TV tuner - just feed it thru an A/V input. The bad news: 1. No control thru the headunit - tuning done in convertor, not TV (like a cable or sat box) 2. Need good antenna 3. Power supply I know of an aftermarket van conversion company that has been putting home HDTV's (23", 26" & 32"!!!) in their vans for 2+ years. Guy I talk to there says when they started testing them, they received better than the o
  4. If you haven't seen the ads on TV, the US is switching to a digital broadcasting standard (ATSC) for over-the air transmission In Feb 2009. This transition from the current standard(NTSC) has been in the works for a couple years now, and in Feb 2009, the TV stations have to broadcast in the digital mode ONLY. This only affects people receiving TV signals with an outside antenna - as of right now, the cable/satellite companies do not have to make any changes. All the Pioneer TV tuners are the NTSC system, which means in a little over a year, there will not be any stations transmitting a sign
  5. Actually, they will be bringing out a HD Radio add-on tuner at CES next week - GEX-P10HD I think is the model#... The bad news is that I understand on non-2008 radios, it connects as an "External Unit with Limited Functionality" - at least some motion in the right direction...
  6. Just curious - which XM tuner do you have? Is it a Pioneer or one of the Terk XMD's with the adapter module. Thanks !
  7. Don't mean to sound nasty - but do you have(or done) the following steps? 1. Have a GEX-P10XMT XM tuner - that is the only one that is NAV TRAFFIC capable 2. Check data cable from GEX-P10XMT to the AVIC. It is a seperate cable from the power & IP-Bus 3. Have you signed up for the NAV TRAFFIC service thru XM - its about $ 5.00 more a month for it. Other than double-checking your connections, you might try resting the Z...

If I remember right, they showed the D3 at SEMA last year, intead of waiting for the CES show - maybe they will show something new this year at SEMA...??
  9. Yes you can use the steering wheel controls - at least according to PAC about their SWI-PS for Pioneers: http://www.pac-audio.com/swixprogrammin ... les&ID=221
  10. It will not play HD-DVDs. They are a High-Definition video source that uses a different laser & decoding system than regular DVDs.
  11. FYI - Pioneer has stopped making the AVH-P6800DVD & no replacement planned. What is in the USA is it - from what our rep tells us..
  12. Scosche - FD1330B American International (AI) - FM-K552 You will probably have to trim the dash, I have not run across a Ford I didn't have to 'adjust'
  13. Have them double-check where they plugged the microphone in - I see this fairly often, they either plug it into the hardwire/steering wheel remote jack, or " It has a seperate microphone??? ".
  14. Depending on the vehicle, there are several companies that make adapters to interface with OEM Bose systems. Most Bose systems are setup for just 2 channels of audio (L & R), and then process/crossover from there, not leaving the user very much in the way of control (Fader, Balance, etc..). My opinion is if you are not going to try to add other speakers to the system, then you can use it. If you want more bass, better highs (I know, I know - "no highs, no lows, it must be Bose!"), then you usually be better off taking it all out & starting from the ground up.
  15. 1.5 meter IP-Bus Cable is CD-IP150, it is not an extension, it is male to male, like the longer cables that come with the CD changers, XM, etc... As far as I know, there are 2 AV-Bus Cables( 0.5 meter(CD-AB50)and 3 meter(CD-AB300) and a 3 meter extension (CD-AB301E).
  16. Keep an eye on Ebay for a SDV-P7. Pioneer stopped making these 1-2 years ago(WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!), but they will work on the IP-Bus
  17. I agree - they are a little stiff in price, but the GEX -P7000TV didn't come with the antennas, like the current GEX-P5700TV does. When that -P7000 was new, the antennas were $100.00 for the set. One of the better TV tuners around though - I knew a guy with a F-250 ext cab that just had the antennas laying on the floor behind the back seat & was picking up viewable TV stations from 60+ miles away... Remember , the Pioneer is a 4 antenna diversity tuner - looks for the best signal thru 4 inputs - a lot harder to do than just having a single antenna input.
  18. The good news - Yes, you can use the DEQ-P8000 processor with the Z1 to get Dolby Digital/Pro Logic surround modes.. The bad news - You have to use the AXM-P8000 controller to run the processor, otherwise the Z1 only has limited control of the DEQ... So you have to find someplace to mount/install the AXM-P8000 Properly set up, the difference is amazing... Pro Logic can really change how even radio & CD's sound. The DEQ has it's own amplifires and preouts that you would use in place of the Z1's, so the Z1 just needs power & nav connections, the audio into your Audi would come fr
  19. The AVIC-80DVD is NAV only!!! The AVIC-9DVD and the AVIC-90DVD have DVD playback, but NOT the -80DVD or -88DVD. They took the DVD playback out in the 2003 model year.
