  1. i am not skilled enough to do it, but i did think of a way it might be able to be done. my understanding is that the tuner only sends the one line of info to the avic, but maybe, just maybe, the hu can be programmed to automatically send the signal to the tuner that changes the display info periodically, and when it gets that info, instead of overwriting the curent display, it writes on a second line. this might be a bit complicated, as there is also station name, channel number, etc, and also the song and artist name might take a minute to be refreshed after a new song begins. just a thou
  2. glad it was an easy fix. seems a lot of people are connecting the rca's or the usb, but not both. unusual cable, but still, if there are extra wires hanging out, chances are, something ain't right.
  3. /yawn did you connect the rca cables to the a/v input in the back of the unit?
  4. hate to be a pest, but any luck in getting the upload limit lifted? anxiously awaiting an update for the f series

    d3 or f90?

i would use that kit you found. i just did an '06 tC last week and the brackets for the factory radio fit just fine. all you need is those two spacers on the side to fill the gaps. the other kit is for a single din stereo, but could be cut to fit if you were in a pinch.
  6. cd-iu230v is the pioneer part number, but a lot of people here seem to prefer the apple branded one. the standard white cable will control your ipod, but you wouldn't get audio or video.
  7. great news. i was curious about one thing. is it possible to change the icon for when there is no station logo? the current one is small and kinda silly. even a generic xm logo would be better, albeit a tad redundant.
  8. after you had your car jumped, did you fully charge the battery, or did you just let the alternator charge it? with luck, maybe you just need to charge it, but it sounds like a battery starting to go.
  9. av1 is supposed to be grayed out when you connect your iphone. the usb connection should change and display ipod instead. if this isn't happening, make sure you have the iu230 plugged into the usb, the iphone, and av1 inputs. you need all 3 connected for it to work
  10. haven't tried it, but the manual said that usb hubs arent supported. if i had a hub that didn't need to be plugged into ac for power, i'd give it a shot just to verify though
  11. i'd check the connections on the wiring, especially the ignition, power and ground. it may just be a loose wire.
  12. sounds like a battery issue to me
  13. a few years ago, pioneer used to say that no online or catalog sales of the premier or elite lines were authorized. i did, however, use pioneer's site to look for an authorized retailer for the f90bt and 6th ave was listed. i can't say for sure if shipping products is authorized by pioneer. chances are that they may revoke the premier authorized reseller honor, but i would fight that pioneer themselves directed me to 6th ave and can't revoke the my warranty because the store i bought it at later lost its authorized reseller status

    Could it be....

sometimes when you use a card, the seller doesn't actually charge your card until the item is shipped. they do, however, check to see that you have the funds and put a hold on the money. it sounds to me like the hold has been lifted but you haven't been charged yet. has the item shipped? my guess is the money will be taken out the day they ship.
  15. the answer is in the manual, but if memory serves me correctly, the usb and sd supports mp4 video, while the dvd drive plays divx
  16. it's been a while since i messed around with that bt unit, but if i recall, you must transfer your contacts first, and then select one of them as if you were going to make a call, then hold down one of the p1-p6 buttons. i don't believe there was a way to assign a name to a contact unless it was transferred directly from the phone (at least with the hu i was using)
  17. i didn't try videos, as i don't have any on my ipod anymore, but the larger (160Gb?) ipod classic from last year worked perfectly for music, including voice control.
  18. if you mean built by pioneer, the power plug shows otherwise. that is the directed electronics power cable, not the pioneer one. i doubt it would make any difference, as my issues with the gex-p10hd are with the interface, which isn't likely to change with a new add-on tuner
  19. hate to say it, but apple likes to change the specs on the ipods all the time. you would need to get a video ipod (gen 5 or 5.5, before the "classic") to play videos on the d3.
  20. personally, i don't find it that hard to turn the volume knob, but you could always get a wired remote.
  21. worked fine for me first try. i did the pairing from the phone. what error message did you get? are you using the latest firmware (v11) for the phone?
  22. also, if you are connecting the usb, as i suspect you are not, then the link to the correct cable has already been linked in this thread
  23. just want to clarify, when you plug the ipod into the black dock connector, are you making sure to connect the male and female usb ends? the black pioneer ipod cable has 3 connections: one connects to the ipods dock connection, one plugs into the usb for control, and the hidden rca connection sends audio/video into the rear av input of the HU. you should not be using the white cable.
  24. I would check to make sure the artists' names are exactly the same. Likely it is just capitalization. From itunes, select all the tracks from one of these artists and change the name on all of them at once. That way you can be sure they are all exactly the same. I would be surprised if that doesn't fix your problem, but if it doesn't, you could always erase and retransfer all your songs to your ipod.
