  1. There are no digital television tuners available for the automotive market right now.

    Shut off Navi?

Not if there is no route programmed. If you don't want the unit making noise: 1 - got to the source screen and hit the off button which will turn off the A/V portion of the unit. 2 - Delete any currently selected routes. The bluetooth function will still work this way if you get or need to make a call.
  3. Both the east and west disks are available for free download if you read some of the topics here you'd find them.
  4. Ifr you have a lot of music, I would recommend looking into buying an ipod. They have much larger storage capacity, they have much faster response time, and is is infinitely easier and faster to find the music that you are looking for. The file system type playback used by the SD card isn't very friendly if you're talking about a lot of files.

    Shut off Navi?

As long as the car is turned on, the unit will be powered on. The only way around that would to be putting a toggle switch on the radio's red (ACC) power wire.

  8. And plug the PSP into the radio's AV input.
  9. I'm sure 1 major risk you're running is not being able to use the nav at all because all the files in the US firmware are referencing US map data which isn't present on your unit. But like he said, the EU firmware is newer than the US firmware. The question shouldn't be what's the risk, but rather what would you gain? I can't think of anything you would gain from it, so why even try it?
  10. To do what exactly? You can't load and unload music from the PSP with the F90. Just buy an AV cable and connect the PSP to the F90's AV inputs.
  11. Yeah, the ipod interface on this thing is pretty much perfect. Fast, easy, and user friendly.
  12. SEARCH BUTTON FTW. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15168&highlight=downgrade+firmware+ipod
  13. Simple. The unit stores the map information at and around your "home" location. There is a setting/function in there that allows you to do this. It will basically save a small portion of the map data around that area into the unit's internal memory so you can still zoom in and out and have map detail there without having the disk in the drive. You just cannot set a route.
  14. Have you ever actually seen a map of the United States? Point to Tennessee and tell me what side of the country it's on.
  15. ^ the difference is that with the D3 there is no way to access the system icons stored on the internal memory of the unit, unlike with the F-series radios and your ipod.
  16. Dude... quit bumping these old ass topics with pointless comments.

    did you know

I guess not lol... I mean... who really needs to have two ipods hooked up? They both do the same thing. Also, the D3 ipod cable interface is infinitely superior to the interface for the IP-BUS ipod adapter.
  18. If it worked, then you upgraded and it stopped working, the logical course of action would be do downgrade it. Because there is nothing on the D3 end of the situation that can be changed.
  19. After that, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest... WITH... A HERRING!
