  1. If you needed an excuse for a weekend in Florida, I would do it for N/C, just buy some beers later.
  2. Well, let's start with the obvious....what make/model/year of vehicle is this in? Which interface/harness are you using? What accessories are connected to your N4? Do you live near a nuclear test site or particle accelerator?
  3. Which cable are you using? The N-1 does not use a cable, it uses an interface module, the CD-IB100/II, (which is audio only) not just a simple cable. If you are using a simple generic (such as Peripheral's PXP01 http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/pr ... oductID=52 )audio/video/power cable for your i-Pod, you will NOT get any kind of control/info from your unit.
  4. Got a few, if you still need one...
  5. Nice job!!! The Diamond Audio speaks are a rather nice-sounding setup, have owned them in the past.
  6. First off, where did you get this installed? Did your installer use the factory amp to keep the console sub functional? Did he/she bypass the factory amp (if there was one) for the mid/highs, or use the factory amp to run them?
  7. If you would like a timely answer, you should post this in the D-1/2/3 area...
  8. Thanks! That sounds like the procedure I got it locked in with....I'll try it out tomorrow...if it works, beers are on me, if you ever get down here...
  9. Got stuck yesterday installing a new power steering pump in the Super Coupe. In hindsight, I would have paid someone to do it - what a nightmare. Not to mention Anthony was helping (remember, he cut the brake drums off his truck last time?). Fun. I'll catch up with you during the week, and this time, I'll have some better (and shorter) RCA cables for you....Merry Christmas. -Jimmy
  10. Your VSS will be an AC signal, cycling from + to -. Voltage change can be anywhere from 2-3 volts, to 10-12 volts, depending on the vehicle.
  11. Update... I am no longer in deep Miami, I have since taken the position of Shop Manager with CarTronics, NMB. My whole experience with my 'partner' in Miami is a story best told over several beers.
  12. I have a D-3 on display in the showroom, with the nav disc locked inside, and, for the life of me, cannot remember how to unlock the display mode. My rep seems unavailable recently, so I must find solutions elsewhere. PM me with the procedure - for obvious reasons.
  13. I'm sending it out tomorrow, using a borrowed N-2 in the meantime...we'll see what happens.

    No staging?

    Straight, undiluted, full-strength dookie.
  15. What do you mean by, 'sent mine in without setting up a claim'? Did you simply send it to them without an RA#(return approval), and Pioneer fixed it and sent it back? No warranty issues? Tell me more!!!

    No staging?

Just my opinion, but, I have always referrred to the 'staging' option as a 'make my system sound like dookie' button. I hope to never see it again. Just my opinion, then again, I really like Brussel Sprouts.
  17. Well, it does NOT look like Pioneer is going to repair my N-1, so I bought a D-3 to replace it, then got rid of the truck.....go figure. I'll be rolling a '90 Thunderbird Super Coupe (manual tranny, in excellent condition, 83k original miles, never seen a body shop), and I am contemplating a double-DIN (AVIC-F900BT) install. I am waiting to see if I can aquire a replacement radio/info center bezel, in case things do not work out, and to return the dash to factory condition, if I ever decide to sell the car(not likely).
  18. The N-1 in my Chevy 3500 finally went down, wow, 3 yrs on it. Lessee if Pioneer fixes it. I'll keep y'all informed.
  19. How about removing the factory deck from a 79-86 Mustang? Where you had to unbolt the bottom of the dash and bend it up while someone else pulls the deck out from behind the dash?
  20. Set the antenna upon a small metal plate, and it works fine. The Pioneer AVIC units come with an adhesive-backed square that works excellent - even with both nav and sat antennas side-by-side on it. I have actually used a small piece of Dynamat Extreme (the type that has the foil layer), with excellent results.
  21. Or dump the Metra piece and try a Peripheral CHYAH06. You will lose fade capability, but it works.
  22. You may also have a bad speaker. If the flex leads on the speaker are going bad, you can get that scenario.
