  1. Looks like Aha Radio feature has been dropped on the X200 series NEXs. So looks like they dropped a few features off these new units.
  2. Actually you're right, it should work without the software too.
  3. No the app or computer software does all that heavy lifting. You then transfer you mixtrax playlist to a USB or SD card and then plug it into the 6100. Then the 6100 Mixtrax software plays it.
  4. You need the app on your phone or computer.
  5. Here is a link to the AVICSYNC app manual. Thought it might be helpful. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/Car/AVICSYNC%20Operation%20Manual.pdf
  6. Maybe hardware that supports BT CarPlay & Android Auto?

Yeah the AVICSYNC services are "nice to have", but nothing worth buying. 6000 and up units already have Clear Channel traffic, so the Tom Tom HD traffic service isn't even really a benefit if you live in a major city. I'm saving for a 2016 map update. That's a better value in my opinion.

Try pushing on the car with the arrows on the bottom corner of the nav screen once your phone is paired with the units normal BT.

Yeah the address sync is a whole other issue. I like the search and faster HD traffic updates. Other than that, I won't be paying for a renewal once the free periods expire. I will update my maps to 2016 versions when those come available. I'm running 2013 Q2 right now.

If you leave the app open on your phone, then it will sync automatically to the head unit once you go into the Nav.
  11. Just used the Auto EQ mic on my 6000NEX in my Escalade with stock Bose speaker set up. Wow. Major difference. Put the mic on the drivers headrest. Worth the $20 for sure. Sounds amazing now.
  12. Under Navigation menu- settings- map display You can turn what "balloons" you want off/on there.
  13. I'm not updating until 2016 Versions come out. No sense in spending $129 for 2015 Q1 maps. My 2013 Q2 ones work fine.
  14. After reading all this, I just ordered a Auto EQ mic from Amazon. Looking forward to seeing how it improves the sound in my 2006 Escalade ESV with the stock Bose factory speaker set up. I've got an 6000NEX.
  15. Totally agree if you use Carplay/Android Auto. AVICSYNC at least connects your head-unit to the internet/cloud now. My wife is the primary driver of the car and never uses Carplay. She uses the built in Pioneer Nav all the time, so the online search and real time traffic is a nice benefit. Especially since she connects using BT all the time vs lightning cable. So now the Nav has a bit of extra functionality while the services are FREE. I seriously doubt I will pay for it when the FREE expires. Better off investing in updated Maps vs what the connected services offer.
  16. Just tried downloading. Working now for 1.053. I'm sure they labeled it a different version as 4100 doesn't have AVICSYNC which is the big 1.05 update for the other units.
  17. Put the usb stick with the update back in usb1, make sure you phone isn't paired to the head unit BT, go to the BT menu and do the BT firmware update. That will update your BT software to the current version. As per the instructions, it's a 2 part update. 1.11 firmware first, and then BT update.
  18. Yes I remember that query. I was able to accept "Yes". So not sure why that it's not working on your iPhone? Maybe restart the phone, reinstall the app, and try again. Weird and frustrating for sure. Killing CarPlay isn't going to help if you can't get the app to work first.
  19. I would uninstall and reinstall the app on your phone and try again following the video steps. Maybe it will work like mine did. Someone else suggested shutting off the CarPlay feature as well during the initial pairing.
  20. Go to YouTube and search for "AVICSYNC" to find the how to videos.
  21. Need to get it accepted/associated on the NEX first. Watch the video on how to do that via BT or Lightening cable. Then you will be able to down load content on the app via the shop menu. I've associated 2 iPhones (6 & 6s Plus) with no problems. Agree that the AVICSYNC features are less than desired, but at least your Nav is now actively connected to real time traffic data and can do online searches. Also you can find points of interest via the phone app, and then when connected pull that into the head unit. Beats having to finger punch that in on the head unit. I still find using CarPla
  22. If it doesn't support music via BT, then non-starter for me. Like you said, as long as it does what you want out of a head-unit then go for it. Appradio models are also another option for value.
  23. After resetting your phone, Try starting the radio, then once it's booted up plugging in your iPhone to the lightening cable.
  24. I wouldn't bother with a 700. Maps are way old and the unit only supports BT phone not music data streaming. Also as your phone gets updated, the 700 doesn't. You are buying a 7 year old product. I would recommend looking at the 5000-8000 NEX series of products of you want to save some money. The NEX system blows away the old F700BT in all facets.
