So my Z1 decided today to quit working for some reason. I was in the middle of the highway this morning and just shutoff... When I was finally able to stop I thought that it was going to be just a simple reset of the battery... nope... I cranked the car back on and still nothing. Looks dead (no lights, no nothing) I did wonder if a cable prolly got loose but... 2 years with a solid connection and suddenly gets undone? hmmm... sounds weird especially because it was a normal drive, not even a pot hole. I might take it apart this weekend but this really sucks Any ideas? Help please

Wow, I've been out of this forum for awhile and I found that is a good thing to update the Z1 but also may or may not mess up the bypass. I have the 2 wire ground in a June 2006 model. If I apply this update will it mess it up? what will be a good way to do it?

What if is a 300lbs MOFO with other guys, guns and shackles? Are you going to carry outside your car a bat or a wrench every time you go out? Unfortunately there is so much that you can do and I think PREVENT is the key factor. If they see a crappy radio they are not going to risk it. Plus, they can bust your window and the alarm will not go off (in our benzos at least), the damage is done and then we are screwed.

Hey guys I can't seem to access the menu that controls balance/equalizer, it's like grayed-out. Still shows that the "parking brake" is ON (in the settings). I really don't know what I am doing wrong...

I have the 8125 Cingular (which is the same as the HTC) and works like a champ!

if you take it out throw a long wire (tap into the existing ground and cut it) and run it from the window to the unpainted bolts of the suspension. Try it and it should sound better (I guess).

If you search the forums you may found your answer for the popping, also the revv in the speakers is caused by a bad ground (but what do I know)... my .02 cents

cough. cough... maybe there was also a blown fuse... hehehehe, I did change it but no love so I had to do it straight. Can I tap the newley connection to get power for my XM from there? Is it possible or do I have to take the long way from the battery (man that's a long wire)

2002 this is how I wired it and some pics inside... So, I finally got it to work. The yellow one and the red one are just decorative in the metra harness. I found out that the harness lacks of a hot wire (maybe is in the incorrect position), that sucked. I had to ran a wire from the cigarrette adapter to the harness, what a pain in the butt. So I finally got everything together, now I have left to do the XM wiring... I am about to give up... (I think I can tap the newly created connection, right?) Oh boy, everything is a pain... not that simple, not that simple... Does anyone knows

so, I wired up everything and the unit did not power up... :( ... I'm I doing something wrong? is there an on/off switch that I'm not aware of? This is sooooo sad :'(

thank you! very interesting, and good call, it's for VW but actually for a benz (so I guess they are the same) I have another question (sorry... at least I put pics... :) To create a ground cable my "connector 2" lack of a metallic connection at the end. I wish I could be more specific but it doesn't make a lot of sense to connect a ground to plastic. That really is the same as nothing... but honestly I really don't know and the best of all I have faith in you guys :D

I am trying to put the wires together but I'm not sure how to sucessfully accomplish this. I attached a pic with one of my main concerns. Basically is just matched them and ground 2 here and 1 in Connector 2, right? 1. I have a ground in my harness, should I use that one? Or should I ground each one individually or tap the one in the AVIC harness with the car harness and ground that longer cable. 2. The green (parking brake ground) should be grounded on it's own or can be tapped into so I can ground 3 things using 1 wire. Any other suggestions (or help) would be highly appreciate

ok, I received it and everything looks great. To be honest I really can't tell if it's not 100% new. It has a couple of scratches in one side (metal part) but they could be normal. The box the is correspondent according to the S/N and everything else was sealed. I just don't know if its supposed to come with a sticker or something (I'm paranoid because of what I heard of them sending units that were used). After all looks great and yes, they are authorized dealers.

Sorry but the peeps at 6thave are a bunch of pricks. They have the worst attitute towards everything. They should be in business... That is sad and I hope someone one day revoke their business licence for unfair selling and business practices.
