1. to stop the updating icon try resettin ur z1 by usin the stylus or a thin pen n hit the reset button next to the "v" button. or try resetting by pullin out the wire harness behind the headunit then plug it back in. there is no mute button on the z1 or a touch screen option, the only way is 2 use a remote. either use the steering wheel remote control for the z1 or use a regular pioneer remote and hit the "att" button to mute. hope this helps.
2. go to av screen, press av settings, press mute level (all, -10db, -20db), and press mute (bottom left hand corner) til u see guide/tel/vr to mute everything wen receiving command or call.
3. yes i would like it if u could input lower case characters. not only is it the phone book, itz also the songs u burn on the hard drive too. the only way 2 get lower case is to upload contacts via bluetooth or uploadin audio cds.
4. i use itunes to burn my cds, n i use my mp3s n make an audio cd (instead of data) in the correct order wit cd text (id3v1 tags). n it just puts in the date n time i upload it. wut cd burnin program do u use?
5. couple things to look out for wen havin it installed: -make sure u have the ipod cord where u want it (glove compartment, center console, etc.) -make sure u have them program the pac swi-ps so that u like the steering wheel controls to each option (example: the up/down buttons can b ur track up/down or playlist up/down or volume up/down; the mode button can b mute or source or pause) -make sure they put the gps antenna where u want, such as on the trunk, top of windshield, or inside the car the installers have their own choice where to put things, so be happy wit wut u get.
6. Does ne1 know how to make legit audio cds from mp3 cds instead of copying the cd? b/c on the z1, if u upload burned audio cds u won't get the artist n title n hafta manually type it in. but if u upload legit audio cds or copied legit audio cds then the artist n title will show up on the hard drive. this is just tryin to save time so u don't hafta type everything in n do the voice recognition.
7. i haven't been able to find it. but the z1 always has the 2 second gap in between songs on the hard drive. it probably needs those 2 seconds to read the song b4 it plays.
8. the speed sense wire is purple, n should be at the radio harness, or behind the instrument cluster on the speedometer plug. wen u test this wire itz an ac current that should read as jumpin up n down voltage. good luck man.
9. the speed sense wire has to be tapped on. itz the pink wire wit the banana connector at the end, it wouldn't already be wired up wit the main harness. 4 ur car, itz blue/white at the PCM (pin 29). good luck man.
10. my nav was off 4 a 1 day, the gps wasn't right n it was running off the speed sense. i unplugged the wire harness, unplugged the gps antenna, unplugged the speed sense. waited bout a minute, plugged everythin back up, then in bout 30 seconds it figured out where it was n it was back 2 normal.
11. make sure ur not usin windows 2 burn it on a disc. don't put the files in ne folders, put them in the root directory. i used nero 7 n it worked great.
12. i worked on a 2006 lincoln zephyr n it is possible to put a z1 in it. u just gotta find the right kit. the 1 i worked on had a thx certified system wit factory nav, it was pretty bad-ass. the weird thing is, wen i got behind the radio, it had a chrysler antenna (cr-10) and a chrysler wire harness (80-6502). but if u hav the kit it shouldn't b a problem itz iso-mounted.
13. reverse wire is black/pink, itz in the driver's kick panel in a gray plug (pin 13). u only really need it if u have a rear camera hooked up, but it doesn't hurt. pm if u need help installin.
14. yea dude, wen u start movin it sets off the z1's motion sensors while ur parking is grounded, thats y u get that error message. leave it floatin by cuttin the wire, then tape it or zip-tie it up to make sure itz secure.
15. i use the memorex cd-rws n cd-rs. it burns fast, n records on the z1 in like 5-10 minutes.
16. dude ur car is so easy to put a z1 in. pull the dash apart very carefully usin a panel popper or flat head screwdriver. the vss wire is actually on the wire harness itself, its gray/black. when u put the double din kit together, put 1 side in first by screwing it in the z1, then attach the radio trim, then screw in the other side. u shouldn't have ne problems, i've done 3 05-up f-150s just pm me if u need ne help.
17.
You probably connected the antenna... there's a "massive" ground sheild on there...
good call, if its not grounded at the wire harness then the antenna will ground the radio. but its recommended that u ground it properly off the harness or off the chassis.
18. interesting, i like that. tell me more bout that inviscord, cuz i just hid mine wit the dash n then hardwire it off the z1 harness.
19. awesome dude nice work. i was gonna put my gps antenna there right at the windshield but i didn't want 2 c it. good stuff u got the pac ps right on top 4 ur steering wheel controls.
20. good call itz an 05 accord coupe 6-speed manual. it was a nice car n the customer also bought 4 speakers, 5 channel amp, n an L5 sub. it turned out great n it looked sleek, it just sux the factory radio up top is useless.
21. pioneer released in on their website, u got burn it on a cd then put it in the z1, it'll automatically update. then wen its done go to menu, then settings, then hardware, then service info, then check the version to be 06-01-0020. 22. yea i just updated mine awhile ago, its basically more artists n tracks for wen u upload songs onto ur hard drive. i don't really notice a difference.
23. I took out my Z1 to take some pics of where i put the bluetooth adaptor and the gps antenna to give u guys sum ideas. directly behind the radio housing there is a plastic wall where i attached the bluetooth adaptor using the double-sided adhesive. as for the gps antenna, i took it off the roof n stuck it on the metal bar running horizontally right above the bluetooth. my bluetooth gets great connection wit my fone even wen outside the car. the gps signal is also very strong wit 5-6 out of 8 bars.
24. yes, oddly enough honda had the double din kit which is weird. sorry i don't have the part number but i do have pix i took wit my fone. the shot is kinda of dark but notice how its slanted like the accords. this is a 6800dvd not a z1.
25. yes i have put headunits into 02-06 corollas. i have only seen a single din kit made by american international that is curvy. but i have not seen ne double kits for the new corollas if ur planning to put a z1 in. the size of the kit looks like u could fit a double din headunit in but it is held in by four 10mm bolts in the bottom and the entire dash wit the vents. i don't know if a kit would be able to support double dins since they r fairly heavy.
