audio quality with car play enabled is not great, I play with the eq all the time, sounds much better with CarPlay disabled, phone calls are horrendously tinny with car play enabled

Do u have the android auto app installed on your phone

This has been discussed in the past, sound quality is better with car play disabled

Take it to a more reputable installer, have them look at it if you don't trust the other

If you plan to just use CarPlay, then all you need is a lightning cable. If you plan to use app radio you will need an apple hdmi adapter, hdmi cable and lightning cable.

So after 5 months my backup camera isn't working properly, it doesn't come on if I put the truck in reverse. It used to work properly.amd come on when I went into reverse Settings battery Rear camera on Wired from tail light to the if I remember correctly the purple wire on head unit Plugged into brown input on the radio"not the dongle wire" It will come on if I turn on camera view, but it won't automatically come on if I put the car into reverse anymore. I've reset the radio and that hasn't worked

I wouldn't say I love car play, but I will say it works fine for me with my 8000, and iPhone 6+. I do enjoy the reading of messages so I don't have to look at my phone and apple maps are ok for me. I like that when someone sends me an address I can access it easily too.thry definitely could have done better with now playing to be more flashy,

Hit your volume button, then look at your screen and alerts will pop up in the bottom right corner. Click that and u can adjust the alerts volume

Are you using SDHC CARDS because the cards that are larger than 32 gig are SDXC are not compatible.

Do not use any adapter for car play. Just the lightning cable to usb1

CarPlay only requires lightning cable to usb1, and in smartphone setup in the nex, select the usb setting. It does not require HDMI, THAT IS for app radio

Pioneer most likely didn't secure app developers for avicsync, most likely developers didn't see the $$$$.

As long as people keep buying the units, they don't care. I returned one of my nex 8000 nearly a year after I purchased it. I called my credit card company, sent them the manual with it showing that we needed avicsync for connected services and they approved my return and refunded my money in full. Thank you visa. I still have another 8000, I do love it but if I didn't pay cash for it I would have returned that one just out of principal. I waiting for something better, and complete to come out and I'll sell my other 8000.

What's showing is CarPlay and CarPlay compatible apps, if you want to see app radio apps you have to go into the nex settings and go to smartphone settings, change the setting to av adapter. You also have to have the Apple hdmi lighting adapter for them to show up and when you want Carplay you have to disconnect the adapter and go directly to usb with a lightning cable, then switch the smartphone settings back to usb

In the settings of your next go to smart phone settings and set it to AV adapter you're probably on the USB setting that will enable app radio mode when you want to go back to car play set it back to USB

Sometimes it works great in the car sometimes it don't sometimes I just got to yell at Siri it's like hit or miss

Honestly I'm tired of being screwed over and hearing about people getting the shaft with our hard earned money to resort to things like this, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Make sure to pay with a visa
