I honestly was going to change to an S5 from an iPhone 5s in December, but with I think only one person saying they got their s5 to,work with pioneer, I'll stay away.

It happened with both 1.06 and 1.08 and the phone latest update as well

So ever since I updated my nex 8000 I've been having audio issues from any source on my phone. I never had issues with pandora, or anything else until I updated. I've tried new lightning cables, certified. I've tried reloading my phone. Nothing worked so I disabled CarPlay and now my music is perfect

Click the home screen button , click AV, then click turn off. Yes you can use the usb extension cable

My icons are to the right so if I slide the screen to the left the additional icons are on a 2nd page. iPhone 5s and nex 8000, however I'm not jail broken and latest firmware on both

Pioneer is offering much more in the nex unit, may all not work properly, but it's a much better deal in my opinion. Glad I stayed with my 8000.

I haven't checked with 1.08, but the previous version would not allow my nex 8000 to play a movie in the rear zone while car play was hooked up, I had to physically unplug my phone from the nex to play from SD Card or USB. While you have the phone plugged in with the car play update, you can only play movies from a disk for the rear monitors,

Are u copying the folder that says 5000

Spotify works for me, have you tried deleting it, reboot your phone and reinstall it?

iOS 8.1 iPhone 5s nex 8000 latest firmware on both I spent about 3 hours playing with it, I have no issues, I can control spotify from the head unit, RDIO and do all the other functions, Siri, maps, etc. it all works fine for me. I didn't make a call so ill check that later to see if call quality is improved or not. On a side note, not CarPlay related, but aha just sounds like shit.

Make sure you have hidden folders checked in windows, then go back into the drive and make sure thee isn't a hidden trash folder or anything else on it besides your nex files

Go into smartphone settings on your nex and chose usb, not the apple adapter

Had a friend with almost same situation, we replaced the usb extension cable and used an apple certified lightning cable and it fixed his problem, careful not to bend the usb extension too much.

It's suppose to differentiate light, heavy, moderate traffic, but from experience it does not.

You probably have traffic monitoring turned on, and well the monitoring doesn't work well, and still sees light traffic and tries to send you around it. Turn off traffic and see how the routes are then.

In smartphone settings have you tried setting it to the adapter instead of usb connection?

I agree, if I'm using carplay and I make a phone call, the caller sounds tinny, if I unplug my phone and make a call the caller sounds fine.
