  1. The unit will need constant power too (and be grounded) to keep the presets memory. Not hard but it has not been mentioned.
  2. You can download both the owner's manual and the install manual for the D3, the install manual will tell you what all of the wires in the harness are for. I think I downloaded mine from either the Crutchfield or Pioneer website before I bought my D3.
  3. Anyone know if the new disc corrects issue of the missing XM/Sirius logos? Or what program can be used to decrypt the current nav disc to edit them myself? I had trouble getting DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to open these discs. It does not. Look in the XM/General section and there is a thread there explaining how to do it.
  4. It's a preset button. You can set it to any station you want (except 001). You can toggle between this and the previous station.
  5. No. It might sound bad but it should still play.
  6. If you don't require the XM data to be current, I have several confirmed working East disks that are prior to the latest XM programming changes (think I have one extra that actually is current). This will only affect the logo artwork for the stations and categories. If you are interested I'd be happy to drop one of them in the mail for you. PM me if so.
  7. On my D3, the categories display exactly as follows: Rock (icon works) Christian (icon works) Country (icon works) Pop (icon works) More Music Traffic/Weather Religion Entertainment Comedy Sports Talk/News Family & Health Classical Latin/World Dance/Electronic Jazz/Standards Hip-Hop/R&B (icon works)
  8. Thanks for the info on that, the categories are supposed to work on the D3. Unforuntately I only have a Z series available to directly test against. Can you tell me how the category name appear on the D3? As for the play-by-play channels chaning names, this is a Pioneer and XM problem. XM doesn't broadcast any constant name other identifier for these channels to key with. Pioneer doesn't want to have a scenario where an incorrect logo is displayed if the station lineup changes so it only displays a logo when the name matches the table. XM has no support for providing station logos, its 3rd
  9. Vandal, Thanks again for doing this for the latest update. Just as an FYI on my D3 very few of the categories have Icons. Not a big deal, but wanted to let you know for the next "release" . If I get a chance tomorrow when the car is out of the garage I will try to write down which ones work and post them here. As a side note, I noticed today that the NBA channels change their station names from "NBA Play-by-Play" to "NBA" throughout the day. So sometimes there are logos and sometimes not. Strange why XM does that...
  10. You might have better luck posting this in the F-Series forum. Other than that I can't be of any help, sorry.
  11. It's in the NAV menu under Volume - Voice Guidance "ON" mutes the music, "OFF" does not.
  12. You have WinRAR set up as your default program to read ISO files so it shows the WinRAR icon. Nothing to worry about.
  13. Sounds like your speaker harness at the back of the radio isn't pressed in all the way or the spliced joints to the vehicle harness adaptor are coming apart (or the adaptor harness is not connected to the vehicle harness correctly). I would take the radio out and check the connections.
  14. XM is running a special promotion Dec 9-22, selected channels are free without a subcription on any XM radio receiver. This is probably what you are getting. Details on xm411.com
  15. Vandal - many thanks for all of the effort to provide these files, my D3 now looks like it should. To anyone still having trouble with this - I made several coasters before downloading ImgBurn. I used UltraISO for the editing, but apparently 4x burning (the slowest available in the sofware) was too fast for my burner to make a disk that wouldn't get a "Reading Error" in the D3. Got ImgBurn, turned the speed down to 1x, and 40 miinutes later I had a perfect disk.

    Dear God?

Probably pushed one of the internal gyros past some point
  17. From the a/v screen, press the MAP button on the left side. Then press it again. You shouldn't have to press the menu button. I do think that the images for the dynamics screen are on the DVD though, it seems like everything else is.
  18. I think you do need the nav disk since the VD screen is accessed from the map screen. While viewing the map you press the map button again to bring up some choices, Vehicle Dynamics is one of them.
  19. Bypass is here, along with several threads in the D-Series Hacks/Mods section: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5684 As far as the VSS, I would try searching/posting in the vehicle specific forum, that's a pretty common vehicle so you should be able to find something there.
  20. If you bring up the menu on the phone during your call there should be an option to "Activate Handset" or something like that. This will let you use your handest. If you also do this before you turn the car off, you should not lose your call connection.
