  1. Push the red hangup button on the nav before you hang up. It frees the unit up faster. If you hang up from the phone the HU gets stuck wondering what happened to the call.
  2. I got my HU back from Pioneer. Their fix is a software reload. The same fix they used the last time it went into the reboot loop. I have a feeling this will not be the last time it gets stuck in a infinite reboot loop.
  3. Anyone out there with a f900 full backup they can share?
  4. Pioneer time bomb. My unit failed yesterday too. The unit will boot, play music for 2-3 minutes, and reboot again. I'm never able to make it into the Nav portion because by the time the "starting up" message goes away the unit resets. When I peeked into the file system it seems like a lot of files were missing from the APL2 folder. I've tried reloading the software to no avail. The missing files in the APL2 folder apparently do not reside in the update. BTW - I've never modded any of the software on the unit.
  5. Yes, I think you can do this [format] from the storage manager from the control panel. However, you will need a good backup copy of the FLASH from someone else to be able to put the files back. Don't do this without the backup copy ready, because if you do, and you don't restore the files, the unit probably won't be able to reboot even enough to copy from the flash disk. (How's that for a run-on sentence?) BTW, one way to cause FLASH corruption would be to interrupt the constant power connection while the unit is storing something in FLASH. So, never disconnect the constant power feed
  6. I've never modified it or anything of the sort. I finally used testmode for the first time today to see what was going on with a reboot every 2-3 minutes. I suspect my Flashdisk is corrupt. It turns out I can't read a huge chunk of the disk (missing folders). Thus the system crashes (reboots) as it tries to load the Nav data. When I copied the flash drive to my SD card it amounted to 90MB. I tried deleting everything off the flash drive and it still showed (flashdisk properties) a used space of 1.5GB (I assume the missing data was in that chunk). I tried reinstalling t
  7. Yup. Completly stationary. I noticed that as it tries to load the Nav I never make it past the press warning OK screen as it is still "booting". Music plays and the phone connects, but the second the "system startup" screen is about to go away it reboots. Next step is to follow this set (http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20119&highlight=testmode) of instructions and attempt to reflash the unit.
  8. The password protection will stop a casual thief but is in no way bullet proof. I'm glad no one has posted the step by step to resetting the password. I've done it and it doesn't take any Pioneer secret knowledge to complete.
  9. Deleted all the named files. Unit still rebootinig every 2-3 minutes. I can't even get through one song.
  10. You NEED to use the preamp (non amplified plugs). Those are signal only without amplication. RadioShack has a RCA plug to speaker wire wire. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2103848
  11. I had the same VR problem after the 2.0 upgrade. I logged a case with Pioneer and they said they'd get back to me. Ofcourse they hadn't. Anyways the unit is completely dead now so I'm SOL and I'll probably have to get this thing replaced. Arg....
  12. Is the cable warrantied by Pioneer? This cord costs $50!
  13. Watch the video, they are indeed still part of the software Interesting. It just doesn't work for me anymore. I'm clicking the same multifunction button. And the VR Catalog button is no longer to the right of the [Rear SP] button.
  14. Looks like they got rid of the voice recognition and vr catalog features in this update. I don't mind, it didn't work that great anyways.
  15. Equipment: iPod Video 30GB 5.5G Pioneer F900BT Pioneer iPod Cable Problems: Low sound from driver side. Accompanied by reduced bass from the subwoofer. Occasional iPod communication errors with please reconnect message. Fixes: Unplug and pray. Repeat as neccessary. My factory headunit from Pioneer/Scion never did any of these things so I don't think its my iPod. Watching for for additional fixes.
