  1. Go to a local Best Buy almost at closing time and ask them to pop off the front bezel (should do it for $20), you can undo wires and remove it. Park in the back by the loading docks, they will usually say yes if they can walk to your car in under 20 secs. Then send it back, Registered Mail. Wait the 2 weeks. Reinstall it yourself, without the HU in, getting the bezel back off should be easier.
  2. http://drop.io/ use this site, it's free and easy.
  3. All, The features previously in the original HU didn't really warrent me signing up for a MSN Direct subscription and the icons got rather crazy all over the screen, when routing. I just emailed Pioneer and MSN and I'll follow-up with a call to each later, for an additional trial reactivation for update 3.0. I wanted to test out the new features after I made the jump. I'll post any information I get from all this, but I could use some help bugging them about this!
  4. SEARCH: Rear Monitors... - Or ask your local custom sounds dealer, make it seem like your going to buy the HU and a rear Monitor from them, but you don't know which one to choose, or capabilities of the HU. Get the info and run! - Or wait for some useful advise...
  5. Double Check Your Grounds/Connections and Double Check Your Bypass!
  6. Follow the instructions, when everything is done, yes remove the SD card...
  7. As soon as 3.0 comes out I'll definately update. There are some out there that will probably do the same, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Feedback on 3.0 will come eventually. Traffic Flow, Exit Panels, etc... better than not having it. This is a huge presumption but, I figure if 3.0 works for the F-series, the rest of the updates for the X-Series would work as well.... ? So, you'll possibly have to conform to Pioneer's way.... or keep rebeling and risk bricking you HU and have to buy a X-series eventually. The only snag is the new DVD reader on the X-series, an upd
  8. gruvncubn Honestly does anyone search or browse the thread lists? So much time is wasted, with these back and forth, repetitive Q/A sessions. Questions about the hardware differences, Read this Thread.... http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=24318 foreverbfc Street Customs opened a new shop in Berlin, 1st project was a Smart Car for Wladimir Klitschko. They put the New X-Series Pioneer. Is that double-name drop enough to get one?
  9. I use 1 Click DVD Pro w/DVD43 to rip (backup) DVDs. This will get you a (*.vob) file that's about 1 gb. I then use ULEAD Movie Factory to process the (*.vob) files into a workable 700 mb (*.mepg). Vwa-la! I archive this file for future watching or for firends and delete the original (*.vob) because of the file size. It's identical to the original, perfectly. I use Total Video Converter for any format changes, from the above mentioned process. (I.e. mpeg, avi, etc...) This may seem like a lot to go through but, I usually rip any DVD I get anyway. Well this is what I use and I h
  10. Can you believe this freaking pillow biter. - If he searches like most noobs do, I'm surprised we was even able to find the "Post" button. - Can spell out the AV Model number but, hates the word question. And won't use the word ass. Guess you don't like Southpark? (???'s WTF) - Doesn't know how to use the BOLD FUNCTION. - And for his very first post he's already using terms like dick and homo.... that's just gay! - Lastly I don't take anyone serious that uses the word "Fret". (mmmmK) Other than that I can't think of anything else say about this water-head mofo.
  11. Sure it didn't look like this. Sorry about the spelling guys!!
  12. Everyone knows there are not the exact same two consumer products made out there, even paried Memory is off a bit, there are no two Gummy Bears that are identicle, and there are not two pairs of pants that fit the same. Your argument is so bias that it unreal. Unless you've owned 2-700's and compared them, or have alot of history with Ivarious in-Dash Nav. systems you are 100% in the wrong to go on this crusade to help the little people out there. You are left with just trying to make yourself feel better for the (in your eyes) crap pruchase you just made. gdiviney, also "Never
  13. Calm down Cochise. Some just have bad people skills. No Idea where to buy the Sirius wiring though?
  14. Or in other terms...... a paperweight!
  15. I've posted this in earlier threads, "WinMerge" is a great/easy/free way to compare the diffreences in 2 txt files. Can't help on a quick and easy way to compare the (Data.zip) files though. ?? Ol' Emanuel is all I've got.
  16. http://www.effectmatrix.com/total-video-converter/ I've been using this for years, works great. Also, if you've installed a X-Fi Fatality Sound Card it comes with awsome ripping capibilities, green note tag cleaning, and organizing toolbox software.
  17. I was refering to the learning features of the remote to an idea for the future updated capibilities for the PAC. But, I do know what you are saying... Thanks for the knowledge bomb!
  18. I have the Logitech Harmony 880 tv remote and it has empty button slots that you can program any button functionality into that is not a stock option. Are you looking into this same feature with the updated PAC harness? Because some of my steering wheel buttons have "vol up" and "vol dwn" inherently for volume controls, but some just have symbols. It would be awesome to cross program any function into those. And yes, keep the sensitivity in mind. Before I bought my PAC I thought that's how it worked (hoped anyway), but after installation I was running a top of the l
  19. I'm sure it's your talking about any random extension, but if it's an extension that you have to dial all the time just add pauses in the contact number... I got my HU to dial directly into my voice mail that same way.
  20. Place the (*.kml) file in a folder called "POI" on the SD/USB and see if that works.
  21. One last thing. Have tried to hold down the eject and the pin (reset) button for the 5 secs. and reboot? Basically hard booting the system.
  22. I watched your videos on the other thread you posted. It does seem that the unit is faulty. Especially if is works/doesn't work. Though I'm not to experienced with the f700 and it's attitudes. Getting these problems without any mods done to the unit points to faulty equipment. I'm sure the last thing you want to hear is; call pioneer (for a fix) or uninstall and send it back/exchange it at a local authorized dealer. With my knowledge that's all I've got... Anyone else have an advice? Or possible fix?
  23. On the SD/USB put all pic's in a folder called "Pictures", poi downloaded in a folder called "POI", and music files in folder called "Music". The unit needs all info organized so that it's not randomly searching all the files on the SD/USB, which could be a lot. Without the information compiled on the SD/USB in this fashion it would be major waste of resources.
  24. I've tried to (f90 pre v2.0) manual re-flashing, deck worked, but it was still quarky. v2.0 came out a week later and everything was fine. Are you re-flashing because of modding issues? If so, re-flash isn't the answer. If not and the unit wouldn't boot up in update mode then , yes you've got the current update. !! Make sure you are trying to update with the current version !! If you've messed something up while modding, replace your current files with your archived (pre-modded) files and you should be fine. Though that was a f90, the f700 should behave the same way.
