    Well now we know. Car Play on an NEX was demoed today. Fortunatly Pioneer only built one warning message into using Car Play and there are no reoccuring messages after exiting Car Play and then going back into Car Play mode. Very good news.     What makes any of you think that AVICSync will improve app mode? AVICSync will offer connected content and add the vehicle info with the Mystro device. It has nothing to do with App Mode that I can tell.

    App deveolpers have pulled out or began charging for App Mode control because the ratio of people using their apps with the AR products are almost neglagible compared to users who use their apps stand alone. And dont think Pioneer wont apply restrictions upon Car Play in a manner similar to the restrictions they have placed on App Mode. Pioneer is still liable for what you do with their units regardless of what feature your using them for.     In the past with the previous Z series it can take as much as 1K miles for the unit to calibrate and to reach its max accuracy. You may need to put more miles on yours.

    If you guys are referring to improvements to app mode I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment. By the time they get it right Car Play will likely dominate the space barely occupied by app mode.

    Pioneer is using a custom version of iGo map software for the NEX series as oposed to the garbage they used in all versions of the 2nd gen Z series so it is assumed and has been reported to be much better then that of the Z series. The last time Pioneer used iGo was with the 1st. gen F/X series and those units were the best navis Pioneer ever released.

    No, there are no map updates and if the OP tried some sort of map update that would be the problem as they are obviously fake.

    It's for i4/4s and other video sources. If you have an i5 you have to use the i5 adapter setup.

    There were Kenwood units that had this issue a few years ago as well. The solution there was to wire the constant wire from the unit stright to the cars battery.

    You are going to need the same cables/adapters for video thats needed for App Mode.

    Also your issue may be adapter/cable related. I would suggest trying the Pioneer cable kit and see if the issue goes away. Then you'll know for sure your issue is adapter/cable related.

    For Apple users app mode certainly isnt perfect but it far from sucks. If it werent for all of the stupid safty prompts you had to go through it would be much better. I use it daily without issue. Carplay certainly will be welcome but I dont think people realise Pioneer will likely build inconveniences into useing it that will likely hender its greatness.

    It's already been verified that 30pin to lightning adapters don't work.

    It might work for audio but that's it. And that's if it works at all being that it is a no brand item made in China. Regardless there is no point with an App Radio if it won't support app mode.
