  1. Aw man, I overlooked this post too. This shit is to damn funny. And to think this guy actually bought a bypass module. For 22 bucks shipped, what a deal. ill bet he takes his bicycle in for an oil change to.
  2. Memorex is horrible!!! Verbatim is great!!!
  3. Alex, as far as the bypass is concerned, I would suggest that when the shop finishes the install, pull the guy that actually does the install to the side and make a deal with him to maybe come by your house afterwards and do it. The shop wont do it because of liabilities but the individual probably will. I would throw a little money at the issue as you have advertised here.
  4. Nope!!! You can however push up on your remote if you have one and the title will reappear for a few seconds each time you do this. I use the CD-SR1 steering wheel remote.
  5. It DOES read DL DVD movies as well as my copied nav disk. I have tested it with commercial store bought/rented movies as well as copied and home movies on DL DVD+R disk. The manual says it will not read DL DVD-R disk recorded in layer break mode. I use a mac, plextor PX-740A burner, verbatim disk, and toast as well as imovie to burn my disk. If you are having problems with reading DL DVD+R disk you might want to check the settings in your app or on your burner as well as your media, memorex is absolutely the worst and that is mostly what you find at large chain stores like walmart.
  6. I dont see why it would be any different. It all depends on the laws in your country pertaining to this. The reason why all nav units have a hidden bypass is so the retail shops can demo the units in thier demo boards. However it is not legal in the US to operate routeing or dvd functions while driving your car. If the UK hs laws forbidding such hidden bypass capabilities in the units then it may not work as the US units do.
  7. Yes, it works very well, you get full control from the touch screen as long as you have a phone that is supported, most phones are supported, do a search on this forum for more info on the d3 and its options.
  8. Nothing, the BT is probably the D3 sold with the CDBTB200 bluetooth option. That is most likly just a retail modle discription because to my nowledge Poineer doesnt sale the two together.
  9. Well, the copies of my nav disk that I use with my unit are dvd+r dl so it works at least for that. So i cant imagine why it would not work for audio as well. At least that shows the unit can read beyond the layer break for dvd+r dl which is the only thing that matters as far as i know with dl disk.
  10. I would say that sience you still may have some time before your item ships, id think about it somemore. If dual zone is the biggest reason for the decision then i would say go with the 7100. But you should ask your self how much your actually going to use that feature. Will this be important in a few years after the kids get a little older? How well will the 7100 hold up over time? It has more moving parts. What is the quality of sound, I personally have always favored Pioneer on this one and the sound of the D3 is awsome. If the nav functions are the biggest reason why you even purchased the
  11. Yes, if you program it in, its optional
  12. Remove stock radio. Wire up avic. Put avic in car. Drive to the liquor store with the new navi system. Buy beer. Drive home. Drink beer. Cntry, its nice to see that u dont drink and drive
  13. Call quality is excellent, both ways, i havnt had any complaints of echos like the previous units have had, and it auto connects to my razr which my previous unit did not. Im very please with mine.
  14. RIGHT ON!!! My thoughts as well, what an asshole.
  15. It sounds like you are not burning your files as a video dvd. A data dvd will not work. You need to burn as a dvix movie or a video dvd. I cant tell you what software to use on a pc. Im on a mac and have no problems doing this. Im sure most here are on a pc and could help you out.
  16. Volume Track skip/station Source Band Thats it
  17. No street names, just major inter-states/freeways.
  18. It takes like 2 secounds to hit MAP twice then hit REAR VIEW.
  19. The video quality is excellent however the only downfall with the D3 and video on your ipod is that you dont get a list view of your movies on the D3 to choose from like you do with the audio side of the ipod interface. You have to hit VIDEO under the ipod screen on the D3. Then it will tell you to begin play from your ipod. At that point you will navigate to your video on the ipod and hit play. Only then will you be able to put the ipod away and control from the D3 and you only get PAUSE/PLAY, SKIP, and RW/FF. You must have all of your movies in a playlist in order to skip to different videos
  20. Alright, so I got the Viper 771XV and it works great except for one problem, the led keeps flashing at me to indicate the last trigger but its doing this as im driving. It says in the manuel that this is suppose to reset when you start the ignition. Any ideas on how to clear this or reset the unit?
  21. Yea, the new kenwood unit interface allows you to select from the whole movies section of the ipod just as if your were using the ipod. It shouldn't have been hard for pioneer to do the same. This is about the only imperfection on the ipod interface for the D3 that i have found as far as features.
  22. Yes it does, but it doesnt do anything if you dont have a navtraffic xm tuner
