  1. Performed the upgrade on my F700bt from 2.008 FW yesterday and it was great! So easy to do. Everything went smoothly. Not a single issue whatsoever. Now everything is snappier, bluetooth works great, very clear, and I now have new map! Thanks much, Retell!
  2. Thanks,Chuck! I think I'm getting somewhere
  3. Would this testmode files work with f700 with firmware 2.006/2.008? I tried the ones in FAQ and they no longer work for me. Thanks.
  4. My f700 with 2.006 update had been working fine until last week when it failed to boot. All I got after the flash screen was a black screen and would not respond to any command. I went ahead installing 2.008 update from Pioneer and got an error message and the update could not complete. I then tried to boot into wince in order to transfer my previously saved "my flask disk" folder into the hu but it won't boot into wince. Is there away for me to boot into wince from wince files saved in SD or USB card instead of the hu? If so, where can I can find the wince files and what is the pr
  5. Could you please help me with the link to the 2008.4 map and POI and how to apply it to my F700bt? Thanks.

    GTIMatt's Mods

Thank you very much for sharing. I've been following your mod with much interest. I'll try it on my f700 today and comment on the result.
  8. I had almost the same set-up as you did except that I did not cut the vehicle's ground wire and ground it to the OEM HU bracket because my vehicle's ground wire was already grounded. My factory HU was grounded through the vehicle's harness, so I used the same grounding set-up for the avic. From what you described, your avic used the same ground wire as your factory radio did, so the set-up you had should have worked fine. Before sending the avic to Pioneer for check-up, I would move the ground lead from the OEM HU's bracket to where the ground lead had been for the original factory
  9. You first must move the mute (yellow) wire to the proper, new position as described, than solder the newly moved mute wire and the parking brake wire together and cover with shrink wrap, then ground them to a location that has good grounding contact. At least that is how I did it. I soldered the relocated yellow mute lead, the green parking lead and the black ground lead from the Pioneer HU together. These 3 leads were then soldered to vehicle's ground wire that went to the factory HU. If you use a harness adapter for your vehicle, these 3 leads will be connected to the black ground wi
  10. You have to ground both the newly located mute wire and the parking brake wire.
  11. How did you ground the parking brake wire?
  12. Thank you all for the tips. I would like to make sure that I got this right. The Metra harness adapter I used for the Santa Fe has a blue wire which is labeled as "power antenna" and a blue/white wire as "amp turn on." Since I don't have an external amp, I will leave the blue/white wire alone. According to this I will need to connect the blue wire from the Metra harness to the blue wire from the F700BT and thus through the Metra harness adapter, the green wire from the vehicle will be connected to the blue wire from the F700BT, providing power for the antenna, right?
  13. I would make sure that the ground wire has good contact with the metal frame part of the car. The HU bracket is not not welded to the metal frame and this could be the problem. I grounded my F700bt to the vehicle's ground wire for the factory HU and it worked great.
  14. You will need PAC SWI PS adapter. I used it in my 2008 Santy and it worked really well.
  15. I'm an idiot. Where can I find the power antenna lead? The Santa Fe does have a short antenna on the roof. There was only 1 antenna plug that was plugged into the original factory HU. I unplugged it and plug it in the Avic. I don't know what I missed What really bothers me is that I got perfect reception for FM but not AM
  16. You may have a cold solder point somewhere. It may not be obvious when you first installed the HU but it is now after awhile (after hitting some potholes ?). I would check the ground wire 1 more time.
  17. Make: Hyundai Model: Santa Fe SE Year: 2008 Factory audio: base radio, no external amp This drives me nuts because the it works fine for FM. Unless the Pioneer HU is defective.
  18. I installed the unit myself. I'm pretty sure that there was only 1 antenna jack for the original HU. I unplugged that and plugged it in the F700BT, which also had only socket for the antenna.
  19. FM was fine on my F700BT but I could not tune in any station in AM. Since it works fine with FM I assume that the antenna is not the problem. Is there a cure for this?
  20. I could have unit change audio source in F700bt but could not have it call a name in the contact list . Is there a trick or tip to make it to work?
  21. Wow these look awesome. Great job! Thank you so much, Paul

    Where to buy?

I realized the same thing with the F700bt too. But the package came with the receipt from 6AVE without indicating anything about the product being bought through Amazon. I think as long as the receipt shows the unit being bought from 6AVE, Pioneer should honor the warranty.
  23. Probably not. I think we have to use either the USB or SD card.
