  1. You only need one 2GB card total. There is no need for more than one card to do this mod. Copy all the files to the card from the beginning.
  2. Reinstall the WinCE image (with format).
  3. As far as not getting to the 'edit' button - before you start anything in testmode, open up Control Panel and go through the Stylus calibration. Makes everything else much easier. For the error - did you copy the contents of 'My Flash Disk' in the X910 zip file into the 'My Flash Disk' folder on the AVIC? Sounds like you copied things wrong somewhere along the line.
  4. Inside that is a folder called 'My Flash Disk'. Copy the contents of the 'My Flash Disk' folder to the 'My Flash Disk' folder on the AVIC when you boot up in Testmode.
  5. First thought? You unplugged your microphone.
  6. Vuze is just the current version of Azureus. Use the 'download as' option to save it locally. Open Azureus and choose to open a torrent file, then point to where you saved the file.
  7. What problem are you having? For some reason it wouldn't launch my torrent client, but I got past that by right clicking the link, saving it, then browsing to it in my file manager and forcing it to launch with the torrent software. It won't let me launch it with my torrent software. i use azureus and it doesn't do anything. It won't even let me select azureus as the program to launch it with. Is this within the browser or if you save it locally then use Windows Explorer (or whatever is appropriate on your system) to navigate to it and select a program to open it with? You can also
  8. The contents of the 'My Flash Disk' folder in the zip file you download via torrent early in the instructions.

  10. I did mean the SD card, not the internal flash storage. i'm not sure if there is an update that works for the eu unit with maps at this point.
  11. You just want the data.zip file? It's in Step 2 here.
  12. Somebody may want to check my sanity on this, but I stripped down the previous set of instructions for this to a simple version that should accomplish the same thing. I can't test it now because I updated my wife's car last night and she's out of town for the rest of the week. I moved the modified Data.zip file into the My Flash Disk/iGo/Apl2 folder prior to where step 1 starts below. Anybody see a problem with this, or a reason not to torrent a zip containing the files laid out as in step 1?
  13. Just the two files from the 3.0 install folder. You should be able to copy everything to the disk at once, but those two in the root are what you need for the first section of the instructions.
  14. If the simple registry changes are made from the link I posted above, most of the Q's issues go away immediately. My wife and I each have Q9C's we use with her F90BT. They were useless before the changes, but bluetooth calling is generally stable now (and we can now import our contacts).

  16. official release sounds more and more like a rip off from what people are saying about the 910 series. It's the same thing and the issues that pioneer address were acknowledged and ignored... from the sounds of it. I plan on doing this the first moment I can get a 3rd SD card. Or I'm going to just use the 2 and delete one while the 2nd loads. Just need 30 minutes and a soda, haha. You can do the entire update with a single 2GB SD card. Load all files onto it at the same time. Boot to the Win CE update screen and insert the card, then run the update. Reset and it will boot into Tes
  17. Just finished updating an F90BT. Instructions worked like a charm.
  18. Of course, his clearly his issues that go way beyond general AVIC F series flaws, but he's too focused on bitching and moaning to actually send it in for repair.
  19. That's about what I paid on eBay a few months ago. Something like $550 before Live cashback.
  20. Right - the pause in your case is handled entirely by the iPhone because it's juggling the call and the audio internally. When the AVIC is responsible for it, it does nothing to the audio stream other than disconnecting it from the speakers. Simply issuing a Pause signal when a call is in place (and restarting when the call is disconnected) would solve this problem instantly.
  21. Looking at the index for the General F Series forum, I see seven separate threads discussing the 3.0 firmware without even scrolling, and one of them even begins with the phrase 'Buy Now'. You're blaming this on your computer? Really?
  22. That's not a bug. Oh, excuse me. Technically, you're correct. It's working as designed. It's just a PISS POOR DESIGN. It's a FLAW. Get over yourself and your unnecessary technical squabbling.
  23. You want another one? How about this: When a phone call comes in, the audio source is just muted (not paused), and control is locked to phone only. If you're listening to a recorded source (worst case, an audiobook) there is NO WAY to keep it from continuing to play silently for the duration of the call. A 20 or 30 minute call and you have to rewind carefully while driving to figure out where you might have been multiple pages before. Ridiculous that this hasn't been fixed after two complete firmward updates (I'm including 3.0 as first reports that it's still untouched).
  24. And you know this how? Oh, right. You're guessing. Really? That's funny. I thought my answer was based on regular discussion about the differences between the maps for 8.0 and 8.3. Thanks for catching my mistake.
