During installation the installer said "Look! I can show you how to get DVDs playing on this...." and before I could say anything he ripped off the sticker from the back of the unit.... Where can I get a replacement? I saw some on eBay but just looked and don't see any. I'm talking about the sticker that covers up the bypass switch....

whats with all the smart ass comments here... this is not for me, its for the people who come on next month, and NEXT month who are looking for a quick simple solution. people make it seem so hard to make these discs: just look at all the posts on doing it. its actually very easy.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you're going to come up with. I only have a single din though. it sounds like what you're trying to do is hide the whole lcd.... you're talking about a D series unit I presume?

many tints have metallic properties to them and would thus interfere with your GPS getting a signal. also, I have a little trouble with it n m shelf, byt I just moved teh unit back a few inches and voila! good signal. whatever you do, try to secure the thing with either velcro or something else if you put it on your dashboard somewhere. you *can* put it outside, but test different areas in teh car first. also, your testing will take a while. don't put it there and just expect it to automatically start grabbing satellites. leave it in one position for a day or so, and look at the sign

Just wanted to say that this works perfectly. I went to an installer for some last minute tweaks because I was stuck. He got things working and said now, let's bypass this. I was like no no! I already did! and he said, but the stickers still on. I said I know, trust me I did already. he's like no way and frickin pulls off the sticker..... and then said "sh*t! how'd you do that!?!" told him I'm not telling since I told you not to pull off the sticker. time for an ebay replacement sticker!

Yes, as a matter of fact they are all the same. I wasn't sure, but checked it out on the Pioneer site. I'm new myself, but haven't had any trouble with my unit. Bought it online from an "power" eBay seller but it came straight from pioneer. "audiosavings" or something like that was their name. No troubles so far and this board has been helpful with installation tips etc.

if you want to make a background disc all you is get a blank cdr (not dual layer, and not a dvd +/- r, just a regular old CD-R) find a file that is 100MB or more on your hard drive (NO mp3 files) find the files that you want to use for backgrounds in your burning program, create a folder named "BG" put the pics in the BG folder, put the 100MB on the disk also (NO mp3 files) and that's it. burn it. Are you able to put the mercedes logo in those backgrounds where the VW logo is? I've got an N3, and I also saw that someone else posted that they were looking for osme mercedes logos too. Those bg's are nice--- very strong 3D effect!

I know, irritating, isnt it? I don't want to go out and get an N5 or whatever just to get Bluetooth. Nowadays even the little handheld car GPS's have bluetooth capabilities. Pioneer needs to get with it. ;^)

Sure, no problem. It is a 1994 Mercedes E320 coupe. I have a factory harness that has proper connections to hook up to the N3. I just have 3 wires from the car harness not connected to the N3 harness: a black ground, the power antenna, and "amp turn on". Thanks!

Hi. My vehicle wire harness has a blue/white wire labeled "amp turn on". Mercedes E class. What would I connect this to on the N3 harness? I am not getting any sound out of the speakers, and I'm thinking it may be because this wire is not connected to anything.

I'll re-hook up everything, there could have been no sound because of what twinkie said.... the car hasn't been driven in days and the battery was low. I had to go somewhere last night so I put the car together (the seat, the console, hiding wiring, etc), minus the N3. I'm also gong to move this to a new thread later on today if it doesn't work.

You were 100% right! All that stressing, and the problem was the brain. That is fixed, now I've got a new issue, no sound... geez! Let me be honest..... it wasn't plugged in. I had so many other issues, wiring a brand new harness, removing the front and back seats, getting to the trunk, mounting the brain, removing the center console, etc. that I just slipped up and didn't do the easiest thing.... man! Ok, all is running, gps signal, etc, but I have no sound. I have the regular stock speakers that came with the car. I did the wiring according to the color coded harness tha

Thanks for the tips so far, really. I want to get this thing working! Tight is right.... no room at all back there. None. The brain is hooked up properly, I haven't mounted it permamently yet, so I can continue to get to the connections easily. I've checked the fuses and all are ok.

thanks... I thought I was really detailed. my mistake! 1994 Mercedes E320. I'll check all the fuses. the car wiring harness has a ground that I haven't connected to the N3 harness, wasn't sure where to put it. the N3 has that combined yellow and black ground wire, and I've connected to a screw-down ground lead.

I installed the N3 and have everything connected, VSS, reverse, etc... the head unit is plugged into teh car harness, and the brain is plugged in as well. The parking brake wire is not connected, haven't found that, but I bypassed the unit so it should be a moot point. I turned on the car and pressed buttons and nothing's happening. Read in the manual to press the reset button. Did that, nothing. When I take off the face plate I see the red blinking dot, so I do know the unit is getting power. The unit came direct from Pioneer. What am I doing wrong?

Any auction, for ANYthing where they want you to email them first? Scam. There is no need to email anyone about anything.... win the auction, and pay only with PayPal. That way you can dispute it if something goes wrong. Don't send a personal check to someone you do not know... do you know how easy it is to print checks? They sell them at Staples! When I was looking for my N3 I found dozens of these auctions, where you have to email the person first for whatever reason. I reported each and every one of them.

But you've got to watch out though... I parked in front of my own house one time, and my car was stolen on a snowy night. The folks came from another county and were stealing cars. It was an Acura Integra LS. Anything you can do to take precautions is a good thing. You may not get the car back, but when someone boots up the nav and sees that they're being tracked??? LOL, they'll get scared *less and try to return the item. Who wants to be ambushed out of nowhere by the cops? ;^)
