  1. I'm sorry...but that's a defective unit and you damn well know it. So you're saying that you would sell it like that, and when the buyer complained, you would not refund the money, you would tell him that's normal and to live with it??? Right. Do you really believe that??? If that's the way every one worked...it's not...and Pioneer advertised it that way...they don't... then I would agree it's not defective.
  2. Ohh..I read. You mention about how bad your unit is...how defective it is...and everything that's wrong with it, then you say you're going to put in on eBay and want to know how much to charge for it...and you're talking full price!! Since these can be bought all day long from reputable sources for $800. I stand by my comment...even as strong as it was. What you were going to do was wrong and you know it's the truth. If you decided not to, then good on you. Maybe the fact you work for them made you think twice about that decision. Maybe I'm so sensitive about this is because I've b
  3. So you've got a defective unit and you're going to pawn it off at full boat on some poor unsuspecting buyer on eBay. You know that lawsuit you mentioned?? I hope like hell whoever buys your unit finds this thread and sues your butt good. What a nice guy. Sorry guys...I couldn't help it. That's just so wrong.
  4. That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard in my life. By that reasoning, we should all be using Lotus 123 v1.1. I'm not yelling at you...but at Pioneer. Software updates...and the echo IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE...are very easy to do. All you have to do is commit the resources. Pioneer must not be willing. I'll tell you...I need one more nav unit. I'm seriously considering another brand this time due to Pioneer's software bugs...or more accurately, their unwillingness to fix their software bugs.
  5. Why is it your "flagship" unit can't have the best software you have available?? I have two z2's. Both have Bluetooth echos and the voice recognition is shakey. But I had a need for a 3rd radio and instead of a navigation unit, I went with something else. I only wanted XM and Bluetooth for this vehicle. So I bought a Pioneer FH-P8000BT. It also has USB for my flash drive...and all for under $300. It's a real nice radio. But get this...there are three stages of echo cancellation in the software to choose from. I used the middle one and there is ABSOLUTELY NO ECHO at any time! Furtherm
  6. I bought one from this guy. Great transaction and it works flawlessly. Plus I had it in two days at no extra cost. BIG PLUS!! He's a Raider Hater!!! You know he has to have some class!! http://myworld.ebay.com/raiderh8rseahawkfan/
  7. If you didn't change anything, my guess is your 3rd cd was in a format that won't rip...such as wma's or mp3's you had burned.
  8. You don't happen to mention what type of vehicle you're dealing with...so I say this with some reservation... WHAT A CROCK OF SH!T!!! He's being lazy. There are some vehicles who really have some issues getting an illumination signal, but I haven't heard of one yet that couldn't be found or built with a relay, etc. If you're on the CAN bus, you may need to access that for a signal with a PAC adapter or similar. But to tell you it will do a $1000 in damage is irresponsible. There are some installers here who are very knowledgable. Let us know the vehicle make and model and they may
  9. I'm kind of confused as to your problem. When you're talking on Bluetooth, you have the option of having the voice come through your right front speaker, left front speaker, or both. I do not believe the rear speakers are in play during bluetooth operation. Once you end the call, all should be good again.
  10. I've got a problem on a 2001 Lincoln LS some of you knowledgable guys may be able to help me with. We installed a factory subwoofer assy in this car we bought off eBay. The car is a 2001 LS8 Sport edition which didn't come with a factory woofer. That's why we bought one. All the factory wiring was in place however. I used an adapter harness (Metra or Scosche) to convert the Z1's Sub pre-outs to the factory wiring harness. This converts an RCA connector to straight wiring for the harness. I installed one of Ducatiboy's voltgage regulators to drop the Z1's amp enable voltage to 5V for the
  11. Funny...I just had this exact conversation with Steve yesterday. I wanted to know if I could leave his flasher in place when I upgraded to a Z2 on one of our Z1's. That way, if the new drive we're installing (Z2 drive) ever fails, all we would need to do is plug the Z1 drive back in and be good to go. His thoughts were that his flasher left in place with the Z2 drive and bypass should cause no issues. However, having the 2 wire bypass in place with a Z1 drive may cause some issues and shouldn't be done.
  12. Also, check your install. Make darn good and sure you don't have ANYTHING touching the screen when it moves. No bezel, surround plate, zip. It takes very little resistance to stop the mechanism.
  13. What I would rather spend time on is trying to come up with an interface for the USB adapter. My God that's pitiful. Such potential going to waste.
  14. Lol... patience at its finest. Instant Gratification Generation at it's finest....
  15. That's not correct! It must contain over 100mb, but not pictures, etc. Ok...here's what you need to do. Create a folder called "Pictures". Put your images you want to upload in that folder. Nothing else. Then, put 100mb of crap on the disk. I used several .pdf files. Burn the disk. So now I have a disk with a "pictures" folder with my .jpg images in it (that's the only file they will accept) and that's all that's in that folder...and a bunch of .pdf files that total over 100mb. Then follow the instructions. It will work like a champ. But your disk must be burned correctly.
  16. Do yourself a huge favor and toss that piece of crap metal panel that comes with the unit. Then go to a hardware store and buy you a piece of sheetmetal and cut it to fit a spot. Make it as large as you can (within reason of course) You can use Velcro, glue, screws, rivets, etc to fasten it. Then toss your antenna on it and call it good. You will be amazed at the difference in reception you have. I had Ducatiboy do this with his car and he was amazed at the difference. Like others said, make sure there are no metal objects above the antenna and it has a view of the sky. All my anten
  17. Ahhh! Now you make perfect sense to me Misfit! Thanks for the update...and I think you may be correct the way you read it and I was misinformed.
  18. If you do a search, you can find the factory service manual here. That may give you some guidance
  19. Actually, our Acura's do a very admirable job of pairing. If they pick up both phones, it pairs with the last one it had. If it just sees one phone, it will pick up that one regardless of which one it last had. It's seamless. And to switch phones, I have the horribly complex task of hitting the voice button and saying "next phone"...and it asks you what phone you want to pair with and hooks up with it. You never hit a single button on the screens, menu, or phone to make a change.
  20. Huh??? It sure does! Or are you talking about the Z2? And even the speed on the Z2 is most defintely affected by the VSS. I'm wondering if he didn't have this unit installed in another vehicle. When we switched our first Z1 to another vehicle, it did the same thing. The speed was incredibly fast and had us traveling 20 miles in a few seconds, resetting back to the proper location when the satellites corrected the location, then taking off again. The reason was the new car had a different VSS signal rate than the old car. A complete reset of the Z1 cured it. VSS is there for a rea
  21. Then there is this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... rs/BDR-202 Of course, the Z can't read it. But my God...25GB????
  22. That's about new price. I paid just over $1200 for a Z2, Bluetooth, and Back up camera. All from a legitimate seller with warranty.
  23. Inferno...if your drive was unlocked, could you do your editing by mounting it to your pc and making all your changes there?
  24. Actually, I just installed a different brand receiver in my son's Frontier. I put the XM antenna under the cowl completely out of site and ran the lead inside. Piece of cake.
