  1. *yes i searched* I had a customer ask me a few questions about compatibility with the iphone and the new f series navi units. He wants it to sync up for bluetooth purposes & audio listening as well. He wanted to know if it will allow him to sync up with bluetooth to the unit and never have to touch his phone. I read where the 1st gen iphone and the older firmware didn't have any issues. What about with the new 2.0 firmware on the iphone and the pioneer unit. Also if he has the ipod cable for it which is that 230v I think.. with the usb and a/v cables.. can he have it plugged
  2. i usually splice in an RCA jack in ford vehicles with a factory sub, there's usually 4 wires, sub +/-, remote turn on, and a ground, then you can control the factory sub with the radio
  3. you don't use a splitter for the HD add on.. i've installed a few... you don't use RADIO, just go to HD-RADIO and you pick up all your normal stations
  4. i'm working on an 03 escalade right now.. and i installed z3 in it 2 weeks ago.. so yes it's out.. and i am on my work computer right now so no card reader or anything fancy so i can't upload pics.. but yes it's out.. and yes people have them
  5. make sure the rca's are plugged into the SW OUT and not Front or Rear on the radio
  6. you mean the step by step in the book wasn't enough?!
  7. thats funny... i got my d3 in last week and the first thing i did was register my house... and i was like oh i'll add the dog bark so when i navigate home it'll bark... i forgot i did that... and i got like 1/4 mile from my house it barked like 8 times... i was like AHH STOP! so i parked in the driveway and took it off and will not do that again haha
  8. it doesn't matter... just ground them all... it's EASIER to do it together... but if you want to ground one to your battery, then your parking brake wire to your cigarette lighter, then the mute wire to a beam in your roof do that... in the end... it all goes back to the negative battery post
  9. the GM Module? Which one? Scosche? Metra? Which part number? Double check all the wiring on it and make sure you didn't short out a wrong wire. I know through the data bus you can get reverse, VSS, parking brake, and many others... just be sure you didn't ground the VEHICLES parking brake wire or anything else
  10. yes it allows for direct touch... the old ones didn't as far as i know but the d3 we have on display at work does
  11. what screen is it giving you? the one about the navigation that you have to hit i accept or whatever? or one saying something about the parking brake connection? will it even show video from a dvd once you get past 15mph?
  12. so you're saying you insert a dvd... and it goes to the main dvd screen... like that says... Play Movie, Select Language, Subtitles, Extra Footage... something like that? if so just select play movie
  13. Metra 95-3302 for the double din dash kit... you won't have that info center like was in the radio anymore when you replace it to my knowledge, unless you can access it on the dash in any way
  14. yeah there's a sticky that says... Sticky: AVIC D3 Bypass with PICTURE!!! Did you miss that?
  15. what kind of vehicle is this? sounds like you have an amp that's turning off when you switch it from radio to another source
  16. the wire colors are going to be the same... ex... red to red... yellow to yellow... black to black... and so on... now for your ignition wire... plug the metra harness up, find the red wire, now follow it to the other side to the factory plug... if there is not a red wire then you will need to tap an accessory fuse or tap the cigarette lighter if you have one that isn't constant
  17. he just told you how... buy a Metra 70-5521 and use it... that's how or here... 70-5522 http://www.oem-auto-accessory.com/70_55 ... nd_up.html
  18. i pretty much did the same thing... i bought the home a/v kit... cut out the lid of my ash tray cover enough so half the dock slides back into it... ran the wires through the back of the ash tray compartment... bought a cigarette lighter plug that had a female usb plug in so to charge an ipod or something with... then just plugged the sync cable the zune kit came with... i'll get pics when my d3 comes in... i have my wires ran just waiting on the unit to arrive
  19. Had installer guy, install the AVIC D1, four new speakers, amp and a '10 woofer (No Box). -OnStar does not work -Power Brake cable is not connected -Steering wheel does not work -Unit and Amp and speakers will only turn off upon ejection of fuses. Ok you say you had "Installer Guy" who is that? Someone that worked for Circuit City? Sounds like whoever did it did not sell you the $100 harness needed to make that work. The OnStar function and BOSE system is kept by using a Metra GMOS-04. He didn't connect the parking brake wire because he is lazy. The steering wheel control
  20. misfit beat me to it lol
  21. the reason there was no wire there to begin with is because it's illegal to drive around watching a video... companies do that so it's harder for us to do illegal things like watching a video or changing our navi route while we're driving... and obviously.... moving the pin allows you to watch video.. and more than likely so pioneer can service the units when they get shipped to them for service
  22. metra makes a dash kit for a double din to fit that vehicle... too bad you don't live in ms... i'd do the install for cheaper than $400... you could do it it's not hard though
  23. just wondering... what ccity you work at? location number? i'm asst s&i at 3521 jackson, ms
  24. yeah i work for ccity and when i looked it up in our system to see our cost i was shocked when i saw the $1099 price when pioneer's suggested price is $1000 lol... i ended up getting someone from another shop to order mine for a really good price... forget paying ABOVE the retail
